With Angel City coming soon, I really hope that Outpost 207 is coming too.
Great Map with that awesome skybox. Most of the TF2 maps didn´t do it for me.

Yes hopefully Angel City is just the start of a constant trickle of TF1 maps. I really hope they don't alter some of the vantage points in the upcoming TF2 version, I feel like there are areas of the current maps that should be in play, but oddly are not. It's like Respawn wants you on the ground or close to it or in common areas.

I don't want to get this game for Multiplayer as I already have like 4-5 online games i'm playing. Do they plan to do any single player add ons or expansions? Are the expansions / content updates going to be free or is there a season pass, etc?

I want it for single player but how long is it? I remember reading 7 hours or so. I don't have hundreds of hours to play a game so a 10-20 hour campaign is usually perfect for me.

The campaign is a very good ride (7-10 hours), but don't expect any expansions. The multiplayer will be getting a ton of updates, though.

Well going out of town again this week so I wont be able to play until Saturday. So i guess Ill just be lurking this thread and the subreddit to try to satisfy my TF2 thirst.
 
Have to head to Toronto today on business, and all I can think about is how I wont be able to play TitanFall 2 all week.

For all the design and balance changes from TD1 that I dont particularly agree with, this game still has its hooks in deep.



As far as DLC, hoping and praying for the Expedition and Brute loadouts from the campaign. XO-16 chaingun....my preciooooouuuuuusssssssssssssssssss

This is incredibly irritating during gameplay, but it's definitely better than the alternative, I think. I don't want some asshole literally camping in the woods, chucking out a pulse knife now and then, looking for cheap kills.

It doesn't even make sense, you can go higher in parts of the maps, but certain areas have these weird height limits placed on them

This one on this map really puzzled me, it looks like a good spot to set up shop with a ranged weapon like the Kraber, not even reasonably close to being considered out of bounds.

I never played the first Titanfall, so I can't say anything about the maps in that game, but I feel that they range from serviceable to good in this game. What really drives this game home for me, though, is the movement, and the feel of the game. I am absolutely addicted to this now, and I'd heartily recommend the MP to everybody over Battlefield, COD, et al.

This, my friends, is the best MP shooter out there right now. Honestly. It needs more players and attention.

Yeah I saw that, I guess I took it to mean in a literal sense it's the same map. I just don't want my favorite vantage points to be out of bounds, I hope you're interpreting his words correctly though.

I'm really hoping for and electrical theme titan counter part to Scorch and the return of Tif1 Arc Cannon.

I got killed because I jump jetted with Northstar into a place that was 'out of bounds' even though it looked like any other part of the map. And yeah it's ludicrous how standing next to a tree is cause for execution in Titanfall's world. Just remove the damn trees then.

Finished the campaign this weekend and gotta say, I'm impressed. It was short, but having almost no time to play during the week, I sort of came to appreciate that now.

Very well paced; they balanced Titan gameplay, pilot combat and navigation very well, liked the simplistic survival story of salvaging a botched military operation, very cool gimmick mechanics for some individual levels.

Played some multiplayer and loved it too. I'll probably keep playing this one for a while.
 
still getting bad frame drops in mp. Went and created a solo private match to see where it happens and couldnt seem to nail down the issue. Could be due to stuff happening when the AI or titan lands graphically but not sure. Also have no idea if it's my computer causing it or packet loss.

Yeah... the maps in this are all kind of bad. They really should just dump every TF1 map in this soon. More maps would be great for decreasing burnout in this. I need that DLC road map, Respawn. More titans and maps are essential. I wouldn't mind a few new pilots skills either.

Respawn could add over 50% more great maps to this game if they just remaster the best one's from TF1. Remaster Angel City, Fracture, Corporate, Lagoon, Outpost 207, Airbase and they'll be all good.
 
As for maps, I agree they should just get as many TF1 maps in the game as possible. Like figure out a process for just cranking those out because they're great and many of them would work fine in this game. I personally want Rise, Haven, War Games, Relic, Corporate, Demeter, Smuggler's Cove, Colony, Runoff, Swampland, Dig Site....... well really practically all of them!!!

Phase Shift as a defensive tool... just doesn't really work sometimes. The game is a little too generous to laggers. And if you're facing a laggy dude you're going to be fed an instakill even if you pop out of phase as soon as he looks at you. Laggers are also very difficult to goose at times. It's absolutely awful to face in Coliseum as well. I think that Battlenonsense analysis was pretty much saying the same thing. The game has dedicated servers, my opinion is at some point you're responsible for maintaining a decent connection to the Internet and lag comp shouldn't be saving you.

For all my love of LTS in this game some of the battery spots could use some tweaking. Am I missing something or does one side of Drydock give a team two free batteries compared to zero on the other?

Boomtown feels a little uneven, one side is a pretty safe battery get, the other seems to be flankable. I like the way they are on Exoplanet, where you kind of fight over them. Black Water Canal is good too. Eden isn't too bad but the mid battery feels like it's tilted to one side a bit. Crash Site and Complex seem ok for batteries, though I hate Complex for LTS. Kodai seems ok but one battery is definitely quicker than the other.
 
Battery Boost has become among my favorite boosts. That linked with the phase embark pilot perk makes it so you can last much longer with your titan.

THE WORST thing in the whole game are the fucking turrets. They are terrible, that's literally the only that I think it's bad in the game, they are just annoying.
 
Spent a few hours leveling last night, got my Alternator a little too leveled up at this point though, can't really find anything else I like. Just unlocked the Volt so I'm gonna do a couple loadouts with that.

They're a bitch and a half in Bounty Hunt. Drop one in a bank room, and even if you don't get many kills you'll still fuck the other team up just by messing with their deposits.

that's a good strategy and yet i see no one use it. Another pro tip i don't see may people deploy is smoke when an opponent initiates a core. it can throw off some of the locked abilities and make it hard to see for others.

Does anyone else feel like the green for a party member is so bold in comparison to the amber for yourself on the scoreboard, that it's very hard to see where you are? The amber is the same as the enemy team's. I dunno I just have trouble focusing quickly where I am on it.

Legion got hit so hard, I don't see him really winning any 1v1s with basically anyone. I switch to him for a little bit on Crash Site and was met with 2 Tones and an Ion. Couldn't even do damage to any haha (and he can't run so). I think he was hit a bit too much. But you know what? Smart Core is a stupid design choice anyway so it's not like he can ever be fair and balanced anyway. Perhaps it's okay if he remains essentially useless in Titan fights.

Tone I don't understand why the 40mm was paired with a Particle Wall since I don't believe anyone specced for that in R1. I feel like Tone and Northstar should swap abilities and that'd make far more sense.

Yeah the green is really bright. I still find legion deadly just not as much as before. Tone is still practically the same. Taking away her ability to paint a target with pulse blade would help bring her down.

40 and particle wall was the most used combo in titanfall 1. 40+vortex+salvo was a very pro combo but definitely wasn't used more than 40/wall .

it can get annoying but mainly when your teammates are stupid as fuck. . if people actually shot at it it'd go down quick but they don't. a g2a can take down a turret fast

in a situation like that the best thing to do is either cloak or stim right next to it and kick it to its death

I like turrets, but that's because I get many free kills from them, while rarely being targeted. :D
I think turrets encourage mobility, which is a good thing. Either to escape them, or get around them to be close enough to melee.

Digital Foundry found Pro mode increases it from 900-1000p to 1440p but they didn't specify if it was SP only or both SP and MP.
 
Anyone else using Dice Roll as a boost? It is excellent as it gives you a diverse range of Boosts.

The only one I hate is Phase shift, yet to find a scenario that I can use it with the TTK what it is.

Turrets, Smart Pistol, Amped weapons, Battery, all very good in different scenarios.

I bought dice roll early, thinking it would be a good way to play all the boosts, but in the end I quickly stopped using it. Too many times I get a boost that seems completely irrelevant on its own at the moment, and when that happens you need to call a Titan then destroy it to have another roll. Not worth it. :/

Should be both. I don#t think the game makes a difference technically between the two modes.
