Who the hell really cares at this point though?

Agreed. Their pride in their American dub this time round is cringeworthy to say the least, as is the dub itself. Will turning voices off be a thing, and will that include cutscenes? (Haven't checked options menu on my JP copy)

I've had the Japanese CE sitting in my studio room for some time, and I'll have to dive in sooner or later to write a preview, but I've been holding out; just seems too sacred. I think this stream will be the perfect thing to break the seal and get me into the game a for few hours.
Also I think Cassandra Morris is adorable. Hope she shows up.

What are you basing this off? Some out-of-context quotes from 30 second long trailers? At least wait until you see a full conversation before jumping to conclusions.

I'm honestly still excited for the game. My issue is whether or not the stream is worthwhile considering those who are waiting for the English release have (probably) seen one of the Japanese streams.
But the dual audio complaints are getting old at this point.

It'll get old once they add it in and it becomes a joke.
Atlus USA has successfully killed most of the hype I've had for this and that's a damn shame after what great games 3 and 4 were. Thank god for the PS3 version.

With the exception of US releases of various Godzilla films, Shogun Assassin, and other cultural oddities that straight up shouldn't have happened. But anyway.
Seriously ATLUS, this is a Japanese game about Japanese high-schoolers dealing with Japanese issues in Japan. Nothing about this game screams America to me. I don't want to hear American voices. Give us options. Options disappoint no one. No 'sub' option is absurd.

Nope I won't get over it. I'm still buying the game but it's ridiculous that Atlas won't give us options. Especially for a game that is as centered around Japanese life as the persona series since 3. Even if it costed more as DLC I'd be fine

They were released in 2006 and 2009 with DVD size restriction (It's 2016 now, and we have Blurays), there is undubs for them so you can patch the files of your iso with original voices.
I would typically just make a mental note of the stream without posting anything in this thread but I feel compelled to offset the weird downers, so

I would even pay for dual audio as DLC. Even though I shouldn't have to.
Just why won't Atlus even acknowledge that its something people want?
If you have a problem with Atlus USA not including Japanese audio, I have a suggestion: let them know. Shitting up threads on NeoGAF over and over again will not help your problem; it only maintains a level of noise that other posters have to sift through in order to engage in discussion with each other.

You do realize that ultimately, you are preaching to the choir, right?
And lets be honest: even if Atlus USA does put the Japanese dub on there, only a small group of people will buy it. And then you have them wondering why they should even bother. Same as when people bitch and moan about no physical release for niche Japanese games and start a petition. Yet when the game does come out, the people who did buy the physical was basically nil. So why bother?
Most of the complaints of the dual audio really stem from a militant attitude on the subs vs dubs debate which has existed since the dawn of anime in North America, so frankly, I am not going to get into it anymore.

I don't get why some people act like getting no japanese dubs is the end of the world and Atlus have just insulted their family, ancestors, and dog but when a company like Arc Sys decides to not have an english dub in their game it's paraded and applauded.
How is this different from framerate arguments for any other game?

From my experience having lines chopped up out of context in trailers always makes it sound worse than in the actual game. This stream'll probably be our best shot at judging the English VA before we can play it for ourselves.

True enough, think we should have own thread for this much like Blazblue people made for the missing English dub in latest game.
Urging people to send them email or contact through http://atlus.com/contact/ ( service@atlus.com. ) is probably more efficient than brooding over it here.
