Battlefield 1 |OT| Make War Great Again

If they do nerf the model 10 Hunter.....
The slug version should do around the same damage from range but will require ADS rather than buck spread

The 12g seems to have about the same stopping power just slightly less range. It also sounds amazingly more meaty.

Cool cool, was meaning to try out some of the other ones anyway.

BTW servers are back up for me on the X1

I'm not sure if DICE will use a different philosophy in BF1, but in more recent BF games their nerfs have largely been based on usage. Their reasoning is that if everyone is using the same weapon, it needs to be nerfed, and while I thought it was silly at first, I've gradually come around to the concept.

As someone who has more kills with the Model 10-A Hunter than any other weapon, I really hope it doesn't get nerfed, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it.

If that's the case then the M18 Trench - The Rigotti - the SMLE and also potentially the Model 10 will all get a nerf

Jup. Hopefully its not very common. Hated how the xp boosts messed up BF4 stats.

For those of you on UKps4Gaf - please announce when you are going to use a squad boost so we can ensure there isn't two in the same squad so everyone can get the extra boost.

The problem is that buckshot mechanics are a huge advantage over having to hit with a single projectile, especially if they have such a hilarious range as the 10A Hunter. Getting oneshotted at 20m+ by someone who has to ADS and hit you is one thing, that happening by someone just hipfiring is something else.

It sure is no coincidence why everyone was running around with the 10A Hunter rather than all the other shotguns or even all the other versions of the gun.

Shotguns are supposed to have super high (one shot) damage and hipfire at close range with very high kills per mag (or rather "before having to reload") and the buckshot mechanic, compensated by short range with huge damage dropoff. If you mostly remove that one big con, as was the case with the hunter (especially in modes such as TDM and Domination), then of course everyone will use that gun, especially if the fire rate is not even that low compared to other games (e.g. the 870 in BF3 which was the only real oneshot shotgun before OP slug shotties popped up). Doesn't make it balanced, especially not compared with other shotties (which need a buff).

The nerf based on usage approach has merit, for example the M16A3 in BF3 was definitely too good and utterly outclassed most other assault rifles (way too stable and the reload animation was hilariously unrealistically fast) and never saw a nerf. It was pretty much the most used Assault Rifle by far, especially considering that BF3 had quite a bit more weapons to choose from for every class. A majority of players always gravitate to the guns that give them the biggest advantage other others.

So do I have to finish the two puzzles that were there first? I've scrapped all puzzle pieces because I don't want a bartek club or a sabertooth knife but I only ever find pieces for those exact two puzzles.

Things needing a nerf:

Rigotti - too much rapid fire

Of all the things needing a nerf, I would not have expected the Cei Rigotti being in that list :)

The clip is so small that the ability to put a little more rounds per time unit in an enemy than any other medic rifle is a welcome addition.

Honestly, most people I talk to complain about the need to grind to the next rifle as fast as possible it when they first start with the medic class.

But you're most welcome to disagree ofcourse :)

From my experience - 18 service stars for the model 10 - I always ADS and even then when someone is more than 20m away it can take 3-4 hits to take them down.

It's far too unreliable at distance from hip firing.

The problem with the Rigotti is that it's automatic. The amount of times I've been beaten 1 on 1 with a model 10 hunter vs the Rigotti is just sickening.

Lmfao dude with 18 fucking model 10 hunter service stars is bitching that the Rigotti is OP? That is hysterical, yes bro, it's "sickening" that you occasionally get stopped by a dude with an automatic.

It's far too unreliable at distance from hip firing.

This is flat out untrue by the way (as someone with one measly service star) are you on console by chance? I'm more accurate hip firing than ADS, the thing is a fucking sniper rifle at long ranges being hipfired, extremely consistent. It's very rare that I take a shot that doesn't land, but I could see that kind of accuracy during fast movement being difficult on a controller.

Have you ever tried out the Rigotti yourself? It's mediocre at medium range, only has ten shots (and they need to hit you at least 3 times with that), runs dry really fast and the reload speed literally takes ages (seriously, reloading a dry Mondragon is at least twice as fast).
It also usually takes one more hit at medium range than the Mondragon/Selbstlader16, ever tried to hit someone 4 or 5 times with a semi-auto at long range before you get killed? And that's without the benefit of comfortably dominating up to 20m against multiple people as with your Hunter, mind. It's literally a BF3 G18 Pistol as a rifle only with 6 times the reload speed and being a primary.

Being good at close range with full auto (and only ever against one opponent at a time, because running dry results in an a about 7 seconds long reload animation) is pretty much the only thing it has going for it. There is a reason why most people pick the M1907 instead (with a mag, more capacity and almost the same short range power).

Meanwhile the 10A Hunter is a oneshot hipfire kill at 20 meters and even reloads faster than the Rigotti, besides having leagues better ammo to kill capacity.

I'm afraid you won't find much support if you want to get the gun nerfed.

Anyone on PS4 up for some games? PSN is Fakehound.

Hey man - add Luvs_2_Squidge to psn. We play every night at ten.

The group chat has 50 members so there are always people to team up with.

I only have that many because that's the only gun I use and the only role I play is tank hunter / flag attacker.

It's not because it's OP, it's just because I play to it's strength and solely play that.

What's the favourite weapons of medic players out there? Only have been playing medic so far (PS4) and settled with the Selbstlader with Marksman (not really warm with Optical so far) for wide maps and M1907 sweeper for close encounters. Swapped frag with incendiary.

I really like switching between a M1907 SL Sweeper and a Mondragon.

I'm not very leveled up though, so I'm not sure if there are better options.

I usually switch between the M1907 sweeper and the moondragon storm or selbslader optical, also switch between gas and incendiary grenades.

Really hoping the patch today gives me the option to switch L2/R2 for L1/R1.

I pretty much solely use Autoloading 8 .25 extended and I have 1,600 kills with it. Its more a medium/close range weapon compared to the others. You can get kills at long range but it will take a few more shots compared to the Mondragon which is what I use if I need some longer range kills.

I can get a pretty high rate of fire with it while keep control so regularly beat SMGs at close range which is useful for attacking flags in operations which I mostly play.

I can attest to this. Redders is the man to follow when it comes to medic advice.

Have you tried the M1907 SL Sweeper at all? That was the Medic gun I was using for close quarters. I haven't really tried the Autoloading 8 .25 extended because of the lower damage output.

the Autoloader is the only medic gun i even like. been level 10 for a while now and i pretty much cant stand any of the other guns.

i wish they'd buff the 1906. it feels pretty great, but 5 in the clip is stupid. make no sense to give the lv 10 Assault the Hellreigel and give the lvl 10 Medic the 1906. dumb.

thank fuck.

Just an FYI but the game won't even launch with the 357.57 drivers now, it gives you a warning that "the required driver version is 357.63 or later".

I haven't had a single crash or performance issue in ~50 hours, being forced to update is a bit weird.

Thanks. Yeah, now that you said it, i see Mondragon pretty often when getting killed.Going to try the Autoloading. Rate of fire looks good from videos. Sweeper has a bit weird firerate.

Still getting the gasmask 1 out of 6 times when i want the syringe when hitting dpad right -_-. Missed already a few close revives because of that.

Also would take L1/R1 fire option any day before soldier loadout/other fixes. Fix this shit GG.

I have not, is it one of the automatic ones? No harm in trying it so I'll give it a go tonight, pretty set in my ways with the Autoloading however!

Yeah I liked the feel of it as well but its not worth using due to the 5 shot clip.

I read. People as defense won with 256. Then the attacking team got again 256 tickets and a Behemoth. I stick to 40 players. :p

Patch notes symthic style. No nerf to the model 10 i see. Hellriegel more recoil.
