Walking, running animations look a bit stiff imo.

(Spoiler) Full pic of the accessory in question.
Text reads
"Collar estrellado que pudo pertenecer a una heroína caida en el ostracismo largo tiempo atràs. Protege frente al envenenamiento."
In Google Translate English:
"Starry necklace that might belong to a heroine fallen in ostracism long ago. Protects against poisoning."

haha,it should protect against salt lol.

I knew it was going to be a waste of time to watch. The moment they're finally ready to progress through the story, it's already too late.

Have we seen an open world area beyond this map?

This is the one thing SE has been very quiet about and that no preview has confirmed.

I'm scared.

But at the same time it will be a wonderful surprise if there's more.

But my gut kinda tells me Lucis is the open world and the rest is probably 'the second part of the game'.

That would be a huge bummer if so. I don't particularly like the desert environment.

Yeah, as I've long theorized, methinks Lucis is it for open world zones. Three or four regions was my guess, too. That's why we've not seen anything besides these three. That's where I stand; that's where I continue to stand. But I will be quite pleasantly surprised if a.) I'm wrong or b.) the second half contains beautifully diverse enough linear zones that I don't mind at all. :p

Mine too. My initial estimate was Chapters 1-7 or so are Lucis. 8-15 are more linear.

If true, I suspect a substantial anti-marketing angerfest here and elsewhere on the net. 'Tis partly why I fully intend to be off the grid as I play. XD

Yeah that's how I feel too. Though I don't care much about the open world so it's not really important for me.

I'd also be satisfied with the B option! But I'm not a huge fan of open worlds anyway (despite putting a LOT of hours into Xenoblade X...whilst skipping all the cutscenes). Whatever happens, I feel it in my bones that I'm gonna love this game and it will become my new favourite Final Fantasy. Really looking forward to spoiler-free impressions.

Even if the open area is basically that map, it's fine. There's a big city and then the linear section to consider and that's a decent chunk of locations to go through.

Oh, to be sure, I'm not much of an open world gamer myself! If there's content in the second half on par with Spira (or within a few notches of it, anyway) and the narrative takes off I'll be plenty pleased.

My main issue during production phase is actually the concern that the first several chapters would lack in story. :p

Concur.

I'm with kags on this, first half of the game open world and then second half bombastic linear action.

Look forward to Verendus' impressions next week. Just read it and I'm sure you'll be happy (except for a few points I know Kagari probably won't like) :)

The linear second half came off as a negative to me until I remember how painfully I struggled to finish DA:I after reaching Skyhold.

My concern is given the bad news reached the boys as early as the end of Chapter 1, what is the boys' mood in opening world part after that?

I've looked up Facebook page of pretty much every major gameshop in Singapore and none of them mentioned selling the game😢

I tend to think of moving through Spira in FFX. What I don't mean is the hyper-linear uber-corridors of FFXIII.
What's the difference? FFX was literally a "hold up on the D-Pad until next story segment" for the vast majority of the game, as much as I love it.

FFXIII was more of the same but at least it DID open up at some point
