FFXV copies out in the wild (street date broken in Peru, possibly elsewhere)

What's more likely, someone making a bunch of posts blending real and false info because they don't want to be identified, or someone making a ton of guesses (including some really vague psychic-style predictions) and happening to get a couple of them (the really obvious ones) right?

I mean, when you present it like that, it's an obvious choice.

But I don't think the ones Verendus has gotten right have been really "obvious."

so the fact that he knew Nomura would be the director or the Remake won't be one Game were so predictable?

Nomura was always going to be the director of FF7R no matter what happened. And the decision to split the FF7 remake into a volume of sorts doesn't have to be what he was referring to, but instead another compilation type deal.

Verendus mentioned XII HD in 2014 before the concert leak.

12HD was always in the cards, since XHD was a thing. Its not news. Kagari herself talked about it a lot.

if its so easy to do these things, i wonder why he didn't get banned yet. Surely has to know something since other so called insiders were banned for smaller things

But he surprised himself that he was the director after it has been revealed at E3...

He was not surprised at E3. The game had been in development more than a year before that. He was surprised when they first started making preliminary plans for the game, as he assumed the original director would once again be on board, but everyone knew that Nomura would be the director except for him. Since he created the compilation and essentially 'owned' FF7 by that point.

A never ending roller-coaster with this game even with 10 days left its determined to take us up and down. I'll wait in anticipation and bring the pop-corn, this is only going to get good.

Among other things. Dragon Quest franchise returning to PlayStation and Yakuza being localized are what he has leaked earlier and these were hard to guess.

Insiders can be wrong at times. I am still waiting for those who promised a brand new Crash game and all we got was Crash Trilogy HD Remaster. During The Order 1886 hype days, Insiders hyped the game to hell and beyond and that also includes some that were confirmed to be devs. Then the game was released and they turned out to be full of shit, or maybe the game just changed drastically in development. Who knows.

I too have played Final Fantasy XV and boy, let me tell you, it is a game. Not like how some games are games and other games are all, "I'm a game, play me!" but this game is a game's game. First, the narrative structure. There are chapters and they all link together to make the game. Some people may suggest that the chapters are too long or too short, but I think they are a length that is becoming of chapters. The plot is doled out in very discrete or perhaps slurred pieces, which makes for a very interesting story perspective. Players who play this game will surely agree. Next is the gameplay, which was clearly designed from the groundup to be for players. You might notice there is a change in gameplay about partially through the game. While the merits of this are debatable, it is clearly in the interest of creating debate. I think players will be talking about this for years to come.

The graphics are great, with detailed pixels, lighting, and polygons. I will say you may notice some imperfections, such as. Generally speaking, Yoko Shimomura composes the music and she has created a soundscape.

Overall I think you will be left feeling things after you finish FFXV.
Do you work for Famitsu?

Kags only talked about it in 2015, year when the concert stuff happened.

Ummm.... I am no Insider but going by all the hype and even if I saw the reviews/movie, I never expected less than 1 billion for BvS. It doesn't mean I am full of shit. It was just a surprising result because of the big name of the franchise.

Compare that to Suicide Squad, another shit movie. Everyone was expecting it to not even reach 300 million in NA or more than 700 million worldwide, but despite its shitty reviews and what not, it still surpassed everyone's expectations.

I don't get why you are using Box Office predictions to prove a point?

Eh, I don't know. He was really vague with his posts too. But I don't care, it is what it is.

exactly, i could tell you 10-15 projects that Verendus was predicting & that turned out to be true

The thing is people will pick up certain post to defame him (like the suikoden prediction) but ignore all the other & especially many things he got right
and its always easy to say after a game got announced that it was obvious and predictable (maybe some people should look at the FF7 thread before E3 2015)

iirc before E3 2013 he described a mod via pm how the trailer of FF15 will look like

Sega was eventually going to try again with Yazuka at some point, and Dragon Quest returning to PS after the explosive launch and success of the PS4 wasn't news either.

He's also made plenty of predictions about things he could not ever possibly know referring to other companies, especially in a vague unknown position inside Sony he supposedly holds.

Kags only talked about it in 2015, year when the concert stuff happened.

That's incorrect.

She talked about FF12HD before that. Hell we all did as a no brainer. After FFX/X2 remaster, it was only a matter of time.

Wow at everything right now haha! Inuhanyou refuses to believe Verendus, Aenea is either joking or scoffing at Y2Kev, Verendus is probably hiding and jschreier is most likely feeling pretty smug right now.

Basically a normal Saturday. Guess we'll just have to wait and see now.

EDIT: Also BvsS back to torment us.

So many shots fired at Verendus.

Call me hopelessly optimistic, but I badly want this to be a years long con.

I don't think anyone really fired shots at him.

Jason just questioned his info and people speculated on how some of his predictions came about. It's not like people are running around yelling BURN THE WITCH or whatever.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong but isn't it suspicious that one insider would have knowledge of the internal ongoings of a billion different Japanese game companies anyway?

I'm not discrediting Verendus or taking sides here, just curious what he's been right on so far

Even if Verendus had the full game, I'm not sure why people almost took it as a holy gospel.

Most of it felt like he was expressing his own opinion on things we already knew.

I want to believe it's a troll. It would be fantastic.

That being said, despite Verendus' penchant trolling, I've never been able to trust you because of your Xenoblade opinions. It's just too much of a character flaw.

What Xenoblade opinion?

Reminds me of Saturday morning cartoons, packed with action and to be continued on a cliffhanger.

I quite enjoyed the latest demo's combat...so if I have fun with the main game that'll be great. VII and XII will forever be my favorites in the series. Although you can ascertain this from previews etc...the idea that the game world is not littered with ?/PoIs is quite nice as its almost what stops me from getting that far with Witcher 3.

Room to breathe. and my lack of self control >_>

Look, I can't definitively say who Verendus is or whether he's been telling the truth. I can't definitively say whether he's played FFXV, either. But his FFXV post reads to me like someone who has read previews (or maybe played the JP demos) and made a bunch of assumptions, some of them incorrect. His long lists of predictions read to me like a John Edwards special, with some that are clearly false, some that were obvious guesses, and some that are just vague enough that they could fit into just about anything. The "I'm intentionally giving false info so I don't get caught" is a nice wrinkle, too.

I hear Verendus' voice from the great beyond, and it says "balee in me this one time as joan cena once believed in all of you". his words are heavy, knees week, arms are sweaty.

to which I say: who is even making Shadow Hearts 4?

He would not know about 5 dragon quest games exactly, especially at the time he made the post.

I'm not saying he could not make hypothetical guesses that turn out close to the truth. But at the same time, that doesn't give him a mandate to be taken seriously without skepticism.

Tbh, y'all should just only listen to my early release impressions. I can spot technical stuff and I have a good record so far with metacritic predictions based off my own early review (read: 1 game).

So if someone could just send a copy my way, I'll type out the defacto review!

This sounds like what Verendus wanted to happen in this thread. Throw in a few questionable remarks to get someone to call him out for it, and watch people go crazy with popcorn in hand.

This guy is a genius (or a fucking psycho).

that puzzling face
Is Verendus actually 'Bish-checked✓' Y/N?

For what it's worth:

Verendus' posts went up 2:13

I sent him a PM asking about a very specific thing late in the game, 3:02. The question itself isn't a spoiler, but the answer is (so I won't be discussing this in public) and should tell whether he's played the game or not. It can't be answered with a yes/no, either.

There has been no response. His last activity was 3:00, so there's a chance he just hasn't seen the PM.

To answer your question itself though, I don't believe so.

Yeah no. If Verendus was bullshitting here he's most likely just craving for attention and adoration. There have been plenty of so called insiders like that on this board.

Btw. guys, wasn't a Suikoden game in the works and got cancelled?
Suikoden along with MGS Trilogy HD for PC all happened before Konami went full in mobile. That was pre-Kojima era.

Suikoden series started to gain traction and they were releasing the original games on PSN, which has stopped for now.

The suspense about what he said incorrect is killing me.

Was all the positive info incorrect and negative one correct? :p
