FFXV copies out in the wild (street date broken in Peru, possibly elsewhere)

I was spoiled this in one of the streams last night regarding the locations and structure of the game, but I don't know if it's legit since I bailed out when I saw it. Warning, spoiler of the game structure and location list:

1st act in Lucis, completely open world: Leide, Duscae & Cleigne
Altissia has its own map
2nd act in Terraverde, closed big areas connected by train: Accordo, Solheim, Niflheim, Tenebrae
3rd act in "the world after" or something like that, very linear
Ending in Insomnia.

Answering to your question without spoiling everything else, it seems like
there are big enviroments after Altissia but they are not connected, you need to take the train to travel within these regions. The game areas become smaller as you progress through the story.

Sounds absolutely fine to me, truth be told.

Thanks so much for this info, seriously. :) Best one I got so far regarding this. I did click on the spoilers and it is actually exactly like I figured it was going to be, so no spoilers really.
But this gives me hope, that there are indeed some other bigger environments,
even if not as connected as Lucis.
:)

This is actually pretty damn good. Not exactly Versus XIII as people said.

I called my local shop and he told me the game might be here on Sunday or Monday, so I might actually get to play the game this week!!

Anyone knows of the 7GB patch includes the Pro patch? If I am picking up the game tomorrow might as well pick up a Pro too.

But are you able to explore
Act 2 cities and areas
with freedom and still take sidequests and such?

If so, it's like i imagined it from the beginning, with the game shifting from a structure like The Witcher 3 to The Witcher 2 to Uncharted.

I also wonder if we'll be able to reach the previous areas by hopping back on the train instead of just going forward or maybe into end game with the airship.

We don't know what's in the patch yet. Just pick up the Pro while you're there.

I doubt it has proper PS4 Pro support but you might get downsampling and maybe unlocked fps on the LQ mode.

Where do you live?

I read the impressions, the part claiming that it will have the best battle system ever interests me greatly, and if true I'll be very very happy (currently I'm not feeling the warp mechanic but I could learn to appreciate it since I rarely understand why I would want to warp away from my party to let them take aggro in the demo). Then I see that it may not be real impressions. All of this confusion.

I at least hope it's as good as/better than post DLC Dragon Age Inquisition (note: the linked video is my own of DAI, saved with shadow play because it was a random aggro, and I enjoyed the crap out of the fight. It happens to involve rhinos like the FFXV demo). The reaction blocking of the boss fight I found in post 1380 of this thread has me very hopeful. Don't look at that fight if you are avoiding spoilers, it's the demo where someone got past boundaries, found and killed a boss.

I'm just going to fix my PCSX2 problem that causes the select button to crash it and play FFXII while I wait on early players put out good midgame to endgame battle vidoes. Also I hope the hardest difficulties don't feel cheap but makes you play smarter.

Verendus is legit after talking BvS with him. He has connections. I'll believe he played the game and legitimately thought those things.

Yeah might as well, want to experience the best I can get from XV in my first play-through that's why I was wondering.

If I get the downsampling that would be enough for my first play-through as I would much rather play with a better IQ.

Saudi Arabia ;P

I'm not worried at all about the fighting in the game, but I definitely am about the story and if the open world design hurts the game.

My local shop also told me it's expected to arrive tomorrow (Doha). Hope he's right.

I guess you guys live in KSA/Middle East, since the copies are expected there early next week. Bloodborne was similarly out like 10 days ago but it was very expensive IIRC. Hopefully FFXV is cheap.

I think you can be happy knowing the open world is not like Skyrim.

We just recently got World of FF 9 days early. I'm optimistic that I'll be playing XV sometime this week.

I know the guy at that store, so yeah I am getting the game for 60$. I just want the game here at this point, waiting for for the official date is way too much for me xD

I would be able answer GAF questions about the game too ;P

I don't mean to keep hammering on this, but rereading this list is pretty astounding. Outside of FFXII HD (a pretty easy prediction after FFX HD), every single thing here is either false or too vague to prove/disprove: http://m.neogaf.com/showpost.php?p=144519589&postcount=178

This one is full of misses and vagueness, too: http://m.neogaf.com/showpost.php?p=166482193

I have nothing against Verendus personally but I'm not sure why people keep believing his posts with that kind of track record.

But me casting doubt on Verendus shouldn't be taken as a sign that the game is bad. I'm already on the record saying that the first 10 hours I played were excellent.

I repeat: this could be bullshit since I doubt anyone has completed the game yet and as soon as I saw this person start posting spoilers, I closed the stream.

This honestly sounds great and about what I was expecting. Thanks for the detail.

Verendus has awful taste I know his favorite wrasslers were batista and Daniel Bryan in 2016

If that doesn't set off alarms idk what will

It will take you a while though since the game isn't short :p

Still it would be nice to have someone clearing out the confusion surrounding the game.

Let's not get too carried away with Delaney's post, y'all. Remember, he/she notes they aren't sure if it's legit or not. Those stream chats are loaded with falsity sometimes.

I won't trust him until that FF rival game from Sony is revealed :)

Verendus has good tastes. It's a great movie. People just need to learn to embrace stuff that isn't Marvel. They'll learn eventually.
It's a terrible movie, and that has nothing to do with Marvel. Puhlease.

His taste in movies isn't even relevant when his taste in games is so questionable.

Ah I remember reading those lists and believing them.

Verendus has been touted for a shill already a long time but his "trolling" was always a nice cover-up for when he got something wrong and insiders are always treated like special snowflakes on GAF. There is no hammering on needed for Verendus, he has always been extremely suspicious.

Yeah, at the very least I could post the patch notes for everyone to see ;P

Why the hell does Saudi Arabia always get all the games early?

One of the perks
only one really
of living here ;P

They get the copies through official distribution but I doubt big publishers have someone there to keep an eye on the games being leaked. So the games are leaked since no one gives a F.

Also if anyone is interested, there appears to be a new gameplay featuring Duscae from the final game. No spoilers AFAIK.

I mean I get why people are doubting Verendus, but this has also happened with other Insiders whose leak people treat as Gospel. I am talking about Shinobi/DemonNite here. I have nothing against them and this isn't mean to be a post against their leaks. It was during the peak of The Order 1886 hype when both DemonNite (Sony dev AFAIK) and Shinobi were hyping the game to be something that it never was.

There were claims of 'metal bending puzzles', 'open areas with npcs' and a game length of '10-12 hours' but none of that turned out to be true. So when we hear leaks/rumors of games in development, we always have to take them with a grain of salt because of how game development works. If they turn out to be false, it doesn't necessarily mean the insider was wrong.

I think Verendus is legit because NeoGAF's policy on insiders have been pretty good.

Then again I'm taking his review with a grain of salt because I dont know his review history, if I agree on his opinions on any game.

As it stands, the only two reviews I'll trust at the moment will be from Edge and Eurogamer.

There's a huge difference between getting specific details wrong (which I have certainly done too, for various reasons) and posting giant fanboyish lists that turn out to be made up.

And Shinobi's nonsense should also now be less propped up after The Order debacle. I've taken everything he said about Mass Effect with a truckload of sodium for that very reason.

Yep, hurts like hell :(

It's why I don't believe a damn word Verendus, or any other shill "insider" says anymore.

Even if most of the stuff he talked about didn't pan out, is it really that hard to believe that he got his hands on a copy of the game this early? I mean, we already know a good portion of this industry already has their hands on it, they just ain't talking about it for whatever reason. There doesn't seem to any real reason to doubt Verendus other than the simple that you don't want to get yourself hyped up for a possible disappointment. It's a review on a message board. Shit is pretty harmless even if you take it a face value.

Not even good, let alone great.
