COMICS! |OT| November 2016. Wilde for comics, 2 Hickman books this month.

Marvel seems to be where the film DCU is. Reviewers see weakness and have been sharpening their knives. It's been a pretty brutal year for Marvel comics.

Meanwhile Rebirth started out great but seems like it's losing steam fast outside of a couple books. But the reviews seem to still be so high for them. How the fuck is Justice League still getting 8-10's?!?!?!

Not meant to be a marvel vs dc thing, just made me think of the difference between the two review-wise lately.

Oh Damn, that black widow tease. I was already checking this book out in trade for the creative team, then Natasha. Then bucky appearances. And now
Fury
. I need to read this Hah

Yeah, even now Aquaman for instance is doing like 10x better than before Rebirth and seems to have stabilized in shops at that level.

The new top 10 constants on sales or shipping lists are seemingly Batman x2, 'Tec x2, JL x2, Flash x2, SS and a Spider book or Star Wars depending on the month.

Yup. Reviewers often seem to give the benefit of the doubt based on popularity or what's come before. With JL in particular it makes no sense as none of the issues have been good in Rebirth.

I think that DC must be thrilled with how Rebirth did and continues to do as it's selling well and they still have some good books lined up for a second wave. With other books, assuming low sales, they can reduce from twice a month to once a month, which is a nice half-way step instead of cancellation.

Are these reviewers that rate JL high the ones you normally trust, or the ones that usually never give scores that fall below 7.0? Because every time I check comicbookroundup JL is like a 5 or 6.

I was meaning more critical response and quality of the books. Rebirth started out pretty great with a lot of great books, but it seems like a lot of the books are getting pretty stale fast but the reviews are still giving crazy high scores.

Was comparing them to reviewers now wanting to dig in at Marvel when they sense weakness.

I am going to have to disagree with yah fam.

I only have a couple I like to look at often, and they are definitely giving JL as low as possible. I'm just always amazed at seeing like 6 reviews above 8 for the most recent issue, or 8 for the previous issue with a 9 thrown in there.

Sure there is the few 5's and 4's in there that help the average, but I would bet those would be more viewed as the outliers than the higher scores.

It really just seems like riding the popularity of Rebirth.

I'm not saying Rebirth as a whole, but I think(at least from what I'm reading and on the verge of dumping) Titans, Green Arrow, Batgirl, Batman Beyond and Hal and GLC have all either been more of the same or have gone pretty down hill. Green Arrow especially, went from one of my favorite to damn near the quality of the pre-rebirth book.

Good far outweighs the bad, just the new Rebirth feel is kind of wearing off for me on some of the books.

I agree with you. While Green Arrow and New Super-Man are not as good as they were the first few issues they're still solid. Meanwhile Hal Jordan and GLC, Aquaman, and Deathstroke have all found their stride. The others seem to be roughly on par with how they started.

pretty much. some books dipped a lil but while some dipped others went up keeping the balance.

Flash and Green Lanterns have definitely went up from being pretty meh early on. Green Lanterns has been pretty great and I really liked the 'twist' on the old villain in the last Flash issue.

I agree with all of this

Because people don't look at sales, they look at shipped and this makes that look bigger.

More:
Even more.

@RyanHigginsRyan Also: Jessica Jones, Gwenpool Holiday, GotG, Slapstick, Hawkeye, Invincible Iron Man.

Wow, so literally every new title? I'm not getting any extra of those ones, outside GotG.

.@Marvel might be teaching me the wrong lesson...cut my orders to almost nothing, because they're just going to send me free comics!

comic book review sites are for SUCKERS don't trust anyone but yourself

e: okay case in point, that newsarama review of Ghost Rider is kinda hot garbage because it's guided by nonsense car puns, which, maybe not the thing you wanna build a whole review around

On Wednesday while I'm at work waiting to get home I like to see what I can look forward to. Still read what I want, but the reviews more than anything alter my reading order if anything. If that makes sense.

Daredevil Yellow is great, as are the other two. You'll enjoy it.

She's doing Hellcat which Marvel took away SheHulk because CW2 and it seems Jubilee is getting taken away too.

Seriously, she's been getting the blunt end of the Marvel creative.

She's Dolph Ziggler.

If it's any of those then it's quite a stretch for her to refer to them as "her comic IP" as they all existed long before she did, although at least with Hellcat she has some claim to the modern take on the character.

She also did the Vampirella "ongoing" last year with a different look etc that got cancelled at #6 and is getting relaunched again by someone else.

Her luck with comics suck. Has she done any DC/Vertigo work?

But Captain America White though
Is that any good? I've seen the HC for that one as well but I've heard nobody talking about it.

DD yellow is only one I read but I liked it
Cool. I didn't read much about Daredevil (except that one popular story, man without fear) so I'm curious.

Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh.
I must get this when it's cheap.
Well the Euro price was € 37, good deal. Normally it's like 75 dollars.

Hehe, good to know.
