Battlerite Free Weekend (Dec 1 - 4) [Live now]

jon bones

hot hot hanuman-on-man action
I've been a big fan of 'hero' games since SF2 but have found it hard to get into MOBAs. Love Overwatch & Vainglory's Battle Royale mode, but I've also been interested in Battlerite. It's JUST the team battles of MOBAs, with WASD controls and some real promise.

It's a Steam Early Access game (will release F2P in January 2017) and this weekend's going to be free. I think it's a good chance to see if you'll like it and buy the Early Access (which nets you all the characters once it releases - no need to grind em out like LoL.)

Ive spent a dozen hours or so with this game so far. Super fun and the $20 deal that includes all current + future heroes is a good bargain.

Hopefully a lot of people give this a try.

One more thing to add - it'll be 25% off during the free weekend.

I'm loving this game. Really satisfying, and the combat feels fine tuned.

It's 100% skill, matches are 3-5 minutes, and you're constantly being rewarded. Making it a hard game to put down!

Been playing this game occasionally. It's pretty fun and most individuals I was queued with weren't toxic, so that should be a pretty big plus for everyone who enjoys team based games.

Really solid game, recommend it for anyone who loves arena from MMO's, or plays MOBAs and is interested in a game purely about the combat.

Put a lot of hours into it when it first came out. Haven't recently, but that's more down to there being a boat load of game releases vying for my attention.

If you're any sort of fan of the MOBA genre I suggest you try out this game. It takes away all the bullshit metagame and distills all the complexity down to the fighting only. It's like a fighting game of the MOBA genre.

I've had this on my wishlist since it came out, but didn't want to buy into it since it would be launched as a f2p game when it leaves Early Access.

This game scratches the itch that Heroes of the Storm does also as a minimalist dota/lol style game.

I love how the character is always centered in the screen and the games are 6 minutes maximum.

I no longer need battle.net installed. Bless you Steam.

I can definitely tell there's new people playing so that's good. Was doing some heavy lifting for a couple games yesterday, was fun.

I enjoyed my time with this however, the online can be a little toxic at times.

I'm at 60 hours I've had 2 people be toxic. Teammates are usually pretty supportive, and 99% of the time the only thing I hear from my opponents are GG. Maybe that's changed this free weekend, I haven't had much time to play.

Maybe due to a better control of the centre of the arena (more exp for the ult, plus heals).
