There's a Mega Man revival coming for mobile (already announced), and they've historically listed Devil May Cry and Lost Planet in their list of brands even after they stopped releasing games in either series.

Capcom said:
Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced that MARVEL VS. CAPCOM®: INFINITE is scheduled to be released in late 2017 for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One® and Windows PC.

MARVEL VS. CAPCOM is a series of action-fighting games featuring a dream-team of iconic characters, including fan favorites from globally acclaimed Marvel Entertainment, LLC (Marvel) and legends from Capcom. Since it debuted in 1999, MARVEL VS. CAPCOM has enjoyed broad appeal—especially in markets outside of Japan—due to the hallmarks of its stunningly animated visuals and breadth of characters.

MARVEL VS. CAPCOM: INFINITE is the latest entry in the MARVEL VS. CAPCOM series, which boasts cumulative shipments of 7 million units. The title is currently under development and slated to include numerous popular characters such as Captain Marvel and Iron Man from the Marvel universe, as well as Ryu of Street Fighter and X of Mega Man X, both from the Capcom universe. Beyond appealing to genre and series fans, the game is targeting a diverse audience and looks to bring in casual players who are fans of Marvel movies, comic books, and television shows; as such, starting with a robust cinematic Story Mode, the game will feature a variety of exciting and accessible single player content, as well as rich multi-player modes including online battles.

In addition to regular major title releases each fiscal year, Capcom is currently focused on reviving series that have not had new entries recently, or otherwise dormant IP. Beginning with MARVEL VS. CAPCOM: INFINITE, a return for the series following a five-year hiatus, Capcom looks to enhance its corporate value even further by utilizing its library of rich contents.

Capcom remains firmly committed to satisfying the expectations of all users by leveraging its industry-leading game development capabilities in order to create highly entertaining gameplay experiences.

For something that's s praised fighter coupled with a big licensed IP that's not a lot of units shipped over 3 games.

I await Okami return. Or at least it is the first to come to mind. Not really sure what other older titles I want to see return from Capcom

I wouldn't care too much about MvC1 or 2 since those kinda popped in weird times with arcade games on consoles

3 did well though, like 3.5?

Yes, these are definitely two equivalently likely series.

I think one of them happens if not both.

I'm also of the feeling they are going to double down on fighting games hard again with another entry from a franchise coming. Maybe two.

Capcom please, it's been too long since the last Dino Crisis and the series was even a platinum seller for you. Just do me this solid. Would be the perfect way to give RE6 style action to people who still want that.

As an aside, I personally would love if Capcom did a new Clock Tower or Haunting Ground game, as they own the IP. But I doubt that's going to happen or gain traction. Bright side is RE7 reminds me a bit of Haunting Ground.

One day Haunting Ground, you'll get the love you deserve... In the meantime though, DINO CRISIS!

I have said this before but I think they should turn Lost Planet into a a triple A monster hunter esque title. Where you hunt big monsters in large scale environments for their energy and resources. Dynamic fightts featuring on-foot, and mechanised combat as players hunt and kill monsters of various sizes to sustain their civilisation.

In Lost Planet the monsters hold the energy so you could always use it as a resource to heat an entire town / village and have it town development depend on the players success progressing through various hunting missions.

I think given the options available in LP gameplay, Mechs, vehicles, co-operative play, a myriad of grenades, weapons, mech combinations, etc, it would be super fun to take these creatures down. Lost Planet 2 already had some of the best boss fights in the industry, it's just that they were stuck in an otherwise, rather poorly structured game.

MMX, but only if the make it as good as MMZ. Everything felt like a step back after that series.

Onimusha is another one they should look into.

So Devil May Cry 5 then. Cool.

Also, if Capcom can't get a new Dino Crisis out to coincide with Jurassic World 2, they deserve their current predicament.

Yes, these are definitely two equivalently likely series, similar to how we're assuredly getting both Smash Bros and F-Zero on the Switch.

DMC5 I have no doubt is in the making.

The thing about Dino Crisis though is that with RE7 abandoning the action style of games (which were the best selling games in the series), Capcom has no big TPS.

Whether it's DC or a new IP, I'm sure they have a major TPS of some kind in the making or planning.

What if I told you you had to pick

Don't have to, it's pretty obvious that DMC5 is currently in the works.

Itsuno getting the green light for a new RS would be tough either way, especially right now with a new MVC just being announced.

If we're going to assume that they'll definitely make another Third Person Shooter, wouldn't Lost Planet be the better bet?

The modern Onimusha of this gen is NiOh so we don't need everything else.

And the only one capable of making a new DMC isn't Capcom anymore.
They should rely on Platinum to do it.

I'd prefer to see a new Dino Crisis.
After RE7 it would be a great return.
