Specimen supplied by Konami. World Class Baseball (known as Power League in Japan) was released in 1988/1989 for PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16. It was later re-released for the Wii Virtual Console in 2007.

On December 1, 2016, Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. filed in the US via the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) a trademark application for "Turbografx". It is a 1A;1B (Application based on use in commerce, Application based on intent to use) application, and entered the Trademark Reporting and Monitoring System (TRAM) yesterday on Dec. 05, 2016.

As far as I can tell, the goods and services do not include mentions of wagers (pachinko), so perhaps this could mean Turbografx/PC Engine games to be released for digital platforms? Some games Konami published for the system include Parodius, Life Force, Gradius, Detana!! TwinBee, Snatcher and Akumajou Dracula X: Chi no Rondo.

Remember that Konami controls Hudson, one of the developers (the other being NEC Home Electronics) of TurboGrafx-16. There you have it anyway.

I think we can all agree whatever it is if it is gaming related, it will be the lowest required effort project available to them and equally agree they will somehow screw it up

Imagining ports of TurboGrafx games that somehow brick my PS4

I know Kanye was floating Turbografx-16 as a possible name for his next album. Is there some other part of the joke I'm missing?

You know, I always wondered by Konami didn't take more of an SNK approach to the TG16/CD catalog, but I imagine it wasn't anything more complex than Hudson having a great relationship with Nintendo and being left to their own devices for a while after Konami bought them.

Regardless, seeing them re-released is good news for everyone, since TG16 is a haven for all kinds of neat little B-games.

The first console my little brother and I spent our own money on, it will always have a special place in my heart. Not thrilled to see Konami sully it's name in any way, and since sullying is 98% of what Konami does now... :p

Incoming always connected online repackaged releases of 3 TG16/PCE games per set for like $25 or something stupid.

Seriously though I fully expect it to be something horrible and not VC releases.

Activision released two Atari collections for $20 each that should of been all of it for $20. You don't think ole Konami sees that and is dreaming of even better ways to fuck that up?

Turbografx Mini incoming! It's the size of a PC Engine and has a TurboCD expansion port. Boom!

But really, my best guess is it means there's hope for Switch VC. A tiny, tiny, glimmer of hope.

I don't trust them to do anything with this, they've basically wasted the TurboGrafx library and the Hudson legacy since buying and killing them.

I doubt they can make a TurboGrafx pachinko. So long as this doesn't turn out to be that, I'm hesitantly but pre-emptively interested in where this goes!

Maybe Konami is going to jump into the ring as a console manufacturer! The Turbografx Revive will directly compete with Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony. All this pachinko stuff was really just to get into the hardware manufacturing business, to learn how to do it right. And they've been secretly having their dev teams work on their classic console franchises for this, which is why they haven't been releasing much on other consoles.

Maybe they will have a mini game inside the game that uses the trademark. Like when they had an ipod in Metal Gear.

I remember when there were Turbografx 16 boorhs at all Radio Shacks. Played the shit outta Keith Courage in Alpha Zone. Thats one game I wish was released on 3DS VC. I would kill for a next gen Bonk, Adventure Island and Keith Courage

so I should expect every console producer to give us a re-run of old games and emulated console and charging for it?
Like..
super nintendo classic edition?
I can dig it.. if only nintendo 8 bit "re-edition" had a proper games list :/
