Damn at those RGG6 numbers, ugh... how big of an impact do the other (Asian) numbers actually have again?
RGG6 really didn't do that poorly. about as well as Y0 did across two platforms and better than any entry on a single platform since 2012.

What is the first week to LTD ratio for Final Fantasy titles? Looks to have similar legs to previous titles.

Same percentage drop as XIII, which is near bottom of mainline second week drops (those var between 83% and 88%), but keep in mind first week had more days of tracking than other FFs due to its release being on a Tuesday.

There is an exhaustive list on the first page with all second week drops.

What are third weeks like for FF games? I would expect it to remain somewhat stable next week as holiday bump mitigates any huge drops.

Also interested in seeing how it did digitally.

It doesn't need saving. The series is seeing growth overseas.

Source for the growth overseas? We know it's growing in Asia, outside of Japan, but this is the first time I hear it's happening overseas as well.

I wonder at what point does Sega stop making Yakuza games. Before they were just recycling assets, but this game surely was a more expensive than that.

Well they were getting zero sales and now they are getting some sales. That's growth!#facts

YSO predictions

01. [PS4] Yakuza 6: The Song of Life < 250k (average 225k)
02. [3DS] Pokemon Sun / Moon < 180k (average 150k)
03. [PS4] Final Fantasy XV < 90k (average 80k)
00. [PS4] The Last Guardian < 60k (average 55k)

TLG did much better then YSO Predictions but Yakuza and FFXV predictions for YSO were pretty spot on..

PS4 definitely held well.. What is the status of PS4 supplies in Japan? and any update on PS VR sales in Japan? is still VR in short supply in Japan?

If YSO is right on FFXV's predictions then, with the added digital, it should sell around 900k units on its first two weeks.

Like Captain Toad? Wait until February, maybe it bombs maybe it doesn't.

Why compare it with Captain Toad and not with Tomodachi Collection: New Life?

01./00. [3DS] Friend Collection: New Life # <ETC> (Nintendo) {2013.04.18} (¥4.800) - 404.858 / NEW <71,30%>

And even Captain Toad ended up here (unless there is a later entry in the charts, maybe holiday 2015):

47./45. [WIU] Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (Nintendo) {2014.11.13} - 1.167 / 141.179 (-15%)

On Wii U that is OK. But if Miitopia ends up with 150k on 3ds I would say that's quite a bomba considering the previous games plus Miitomo existing on mobiles. Maybe this is happening because of Miitomo.

About as expected for Yakuza 6 which was about what was going to happen or else this wouldn't be Kiryu's last major gig.

I feel RGG Studio/Sega sort of saw the inevitability of catering solely to the Japanese market and is trying to move away from that and their recent attempts at localising more of their products show this.

Damn at those RGG6 numbers, ugh... how big of an impact do the other (Asian) numbers actually have again?
FFXV bomba confirmed once again, shockingly bad 2nd week there.

TLG is decent, almost 45% (iirc) down from SOTC's fw but all things considered I'd guess Sony expectations have been met?

Yakuza 0 shipped 100,000 units to the Chinese market, then Yakuza Kiwami doubled that to 200,000 units, so it's fair to say it should pick up the slack (Although I have no idea how much is thanks to sales of the PS3 sku) The worrying thing is the localisation for Yakuza 6 was cancelled in South Korea so that should hit them a bit.

As for the Western market, it's been put to about 100,000 or so according to interviews with Nagoshi so for once they'll definitely be hoping that international audiences helps pick up the slack.

Those Puyo numbers seem low? I know it's a leggy franchise but how did previous entries start?
02./00. [3DS] Puyo Puyo Tetris <PZL> (Sega) {2014.02.06} (¥5.229) - 44.627 / NEW
05./00. [NDS] Puyo Puyo! 20th Anniversary # | PZL | (Sega) {2011.07.14} | ¥5.040 | - 34.903 / NEW
05./00. [NDS] Puyo Puyo 7 (SEGA) - 51,750 / NEW

Seems low even considering the total collapse of the dedicated console space. What's sell-through?

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

Why not use the DS game for comparison ? Miitopia isnt a Friend Collection game but a new IP, that uses Miis and elements from other titles. Friend Collection on 3DS was the successor to an established Million seller - Miitopia isnt.

See, this is what I meant when I started off this year saying that, in Media Create, Nintendo fans would feel uncomfortable most of the year, but that'd transfer over to PlayStation fans in the Fall.

I don't think people really wanted to believe the direction things were going, or feel that it only applied to the "other things."

These days these threads are about making fun of excuses, and then turning around and digging up every excuse in the book.

Looking at Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, unless something happens (shortages?), 500 000 units this week is definitely within reach. 1 million LTD would depend on how fast/hard sales drop from January onward, but unlike SMM for Wii U, there's no HW bundle (that's more or less the only way to get a new Nintendo 3DS) to carry sales, so...

Well despite PS4 software bombing all around (Japanese sw at least) the hw itself is doing better than people expected. Mixed bag for PS fans!

And I would argue that Miitopia is a maybe a new IP, but builds up on previous entries plus Miitomo.

On the plus side for Sega, despite the condition of the Japanese console market not being favourable towards their console titles, AM2's latest (First even?) mobile title Soul Reverse Zero has managed over a million downloads in less than a month after release and continues to beat expectations. For comparison their biggest mobile hit in Japan, Chain Chronicle, is about 5 million downloads and I think this is their first big hit in the mobile space since then.

https://www.segalization.com/2016/1...-zero-surpasses-1-million-downloads-in-japan/

There's the actual main game still coming out on arcade sometime next year. I wonder if this might be a plan deployed for future major arcade titles?

Time for Yakuza to end. Back to Monkeyball!

But that sells worse than Yakuza now.

Back to F-Zero!

Yikes. Maybe Puyo fans just don't want a non-mobile RPG? I wonder if they'll bother with Chronicle ports at all now too?
