Cyberpunk 2077 will seemingly feature flying vehicles

What makes you think that it could be complete trash?

Conplete trash is an exaggeration but because of how ambitious the game seems to be plus they're expanding rapidly, doing something a lot different to the witcher and also adding multiplayer as well. I have faith in them but I wouldn't be surprised if it disappoints relative to people's expectations.

My expectations for it to be a 80s styled cyberpunk game. As long as they hit that mark I'm happy.

They're also looking for people for multiplayer and shooters (for this project, it appears from the listing).

Yeah we've known about multiplayer for Cyberpunk for a while. I think they also confirmed the game will be playable in both 1st and 3rd person but I could be wrong on that

I can't be the only one that really hopes we have a Back to the Future style hoverboard right?

I mean it won't be as fast as a flying car of course, but it could be insanely fun if they did it right .

i sincerely believe if this lives up to the amazing hype that people have set up for it, it will set off a cyberpunk renaissance in gaming which is all good for me. i wonder if it has mainstream appeal? the generation that grew up on modern videogames will be coming of age when it releases (2018-2022) and will undoubtedly want to grab the big new blockbuster game

I'm so glad CD Projekt choose cyberpunk as it's theme for their new game.

This has "shut up and take money" written all over it.

I'm really hoping GITS, Blade Runner and CP2077 kill it

I'm prepared for this game to look terrific, have really ineresting concepts, basically seem to hit everything I've ever wanted in a game, only to disappoint me in the gameplay department in the end.

I don't know why, but just a feeling. Hope it doesn't turn out to be true.

hey, we're steadily heading towards a dystopia, can we at least get some pretty neon lights along with it irl?

seriously i do hope that a cyberpunk renaissance in media brings cyberpunk fashion and style to the mainstream because fucked if i'm going to be wearing chinos when a corporation takes over a country

The Witcher 1

They don't start series too well.

The WItcher 1 also happened to be their first game and was using Bioware's Aurora engine. They have come a long way since those days and are growing.

The leap between The Witcher 1 -> The Witcher 2 -> The Witcher 3 alone should tell you to not underestimate them.

Best wishes.

How can anyone doubt these mother fuckers? Didn't their fucking expansion for a 2015 game win 2016S rpg of the year?

The setting alone is getting me hard

To be fair to people...devs have gone from making amazing games to games that fail to live up to their previous standards. CP2077 is fairly different from what CDProjekt has done in the past so some concern is understandable.

I'm being abit hyperbolic of course, but they're buy far my most "trusted" developers to deliver a quality product right now. I get ya

Witcher 1 wasn't complete trash though.

It was also hobbled by using the Neverwinter Nights Engine, which wasn't really designed for a third-person open world RPG.

The fact that Witcher 2 was as good as it was with a brand new engine impressed me more, but the accomplishment that was Witcher 1 is still relatively fantastic for a first outing.

Fucking finally, I give Witcher 3 a lot of shit and while I hope the cars control better than Roach if there's any developer I trust to make a fully realized futuristic world more than Rockstar it's them.

Depending upon how true to the IP they want to be, the inclusion of flying vehicles could be considered a given. This fucking city is all about rolling out of a goddamn flying Ferrari crotch-first even if the entrance to the club is three stories up.

A very cool thing about Pondsmith's cyberpunk vision: It does what a lot of good rpgs do when they want to give players a sense of importance. It lets them do things that others can't do/shouldn't do. It lets everyone be an over-the-top rock star, and the rest of the world just deals with the hangover. I'm not sure how ready people who associate "cyberpunk" videogames with Deus Ex will judge this.

I would think flying vehicles a given in this sense, especially considering how vertical Night City is. I do hope that these vehicles require real effort to have access to, though.

I feel ya here. Cyberpunk 2077 is gonna have a more "rock and roll" vibe similar to the films by Tarantino, that's what CD Project Red have said. It sounds glorious - I can't fucking wait.

I seem to remember a thread that compiled all the information known about Cyberpunk, but I can't find it, anyone have a link to it?

So what you're saying is, Cyberpunk 2078 will be great.

That's a very succinct and elegant way to put it! And yeah, that's what I am most excited about. While the question of humanity and what it means vs cybertech and potential cyberpsychosis will undoubtedly arise, at the end of the day this game should encourage disruption, chaos, and behaving badly. It is a setting ruled by megacorps, after all.

One of the conceits here is that the player has lots of wiggle room for their faults in regard to still being decent people, since the world in which the characters live is so fucked. Contextual heroism. I pushed this HARD in the Cyberpunk 2020 campaigns I ran. I really hope CDPR gets that (I think they do.)

Even a drug-addicted sadist can be a hero in a setting where the powers that be are even worse.

I love nobody mentioned once that Ciri gave details of the game in the Witcher 3.

At the time, I took them less as "details" and more as general allusions, but in regard to flying vehicles specifically... that implies a whole other level of CDPR's vision for the game in pre-production. Which me likey.

I would also like to take part on a quest that involves recruiting some nihilist punk hackers who create a mass panic situation as a diversion while I sneak in to the SenseNet building & steal the digital soul of a dead hacker.

Not if they want to work on multiple projects at the same time.
They said the Witcher 3 team has moved onto Cyberpunk and they're done with the Witcher. They also said they are going to keep it simple and concentrate on one big project at a team.

They proved their technical and writing chops with the witcher 3 and expansions, take that + the infusion of cash from the Polish government + cyberpunk setting...

shit looks promising fam

Without actually seeing a new trailer, everything I hear about this game is hitting all the right notes. The opposite feeling I had for their last game, not hating on TW3, I just don't like the whole medieval theme lol

I'm just hoping this game has a good story, some peoples impressions of their last game have me worried.

never understood the wank fest Witcher 3 got. A middling RPG with poor combat and adult humour to cover up a thin story.

That being said I like my sci fi, so will look at reviews for this when it comes out, but certainly wont be day one purchase given the studios poor attempts at combat in Witcher series
