Confirmed section was Q&A with Yuji Horii.

I believe my newspapers TV guide also said there will be a message from Akira Toriyama as well.

And yes q&a with questions from fans for yuji horii is also listed on my tv program guide. Along with the vague info on the new game, aka XI.

there's no way to watch this online?

I wouldn't know. Maybe someone will stream it but NHK rarely does streaming, except for it's on demand site which I've never used. I'll be watching it directly on tv but hopefully someone finds a solution for everyone else out there.

Use your Smartphone and live stream it or something lol. At least update us live? Any live tweets/blogs?

I'm interested in knowing if your character's appearance changes based on things you equip. I'm sure they can't back down from weapons at this point after DQ8 but even some flavor of chain mail sticking out from beneath your tunic would be cool.

New update, quick history lesson on dragon Quest. Now starting to show more footage from inside developer meetings. New PS4 and 3ds footage to be seen. No PS4 battle footage yet, but looked nice, but not yet optimized. Lots of good footage of horii taking with the director about why things are in the game as he was checking the latest build

Q&a time, was asked what name he uses in the game, and I think he said Yuubon, but the reason why was a secret.

I remember Horii talking about this in a DQX roundtable. He had a dwarf by that name in the game. Reason been that it was his pen name when he started freelancng. Though maybe, there's more to it than that.

Now the show is talking about Akira toriyamas workonthe series and the main character for xi. They are now broadcasting his message to fans. Talking about his working on the series. Just text and a picture he drew for the show or anniversary I believe.

Now sugiyama is on showing off a theme for a character in the game to a staff memeber. Sounds very nice. I believe they said it was Silvia's theme. Have to go back and check. But sounds nice and classic dragon Quest as one would expect.

Wow they are showing more stuff than I thought they would for this, even if it's just quick glimpses.

Yeah we are getting quite a lot more than I expected. Video and music. It's nice. It's not gigantic long videos but nice glimpses into the development.

More horri question time, like what makes him happyabout dragonquest success, he says he was happy he cando a job that he loves ingames and he thinks he couldn't do any other type of job, and would've beeen sad had he been a salary man. Also there were other questions about why keefer left the party in 7, what the reason was for that.

By the way, sorry for my mistakes. Typing fast as tying to translate as much as I can as fast as I can. First time doing this online hehehe.

This is interesting, Now they are talking about how the song "we are the world", the producer saw the video and noticed that how the people when they weremaking that song they knew it would be a big hit and it would be great. And that inspired the producer to make the best game in the world and thus he went on to make dragon Quest

Right now just lots of information on the history of the making of the first dragon Quest. Talking about how sugiyama became a part of the game from originally sending in a game questionaire and the Enix staff were shocked that such a famous person sent in a questionnaire reply. They are telling the story using classic dragon Quest graphics. It's pretty cool

There's a damage bubble just about to pop up, so it's definitely in battle. That plus the light circle.

I know people here are more interested in the dq11 info, but how was the stuff before. Did they mention anything cool about the series in general

Ok the program is over. It was a fun little show showing mostly the history of the franchise and taking about Horri, toriyama, and sugiyama a lot. Most of the xi footage was all near the beginning of the show. I'm going to go check my recording now to see that attack scene for everyone.

Lots of info toward the end about the creation of the series itself. Also showed the usual footage of people in line for dragon Quest iii, uncensored. Which is a surprise considering almost always old Japanese tv footage is now heavily cenesored on rebroadcast in order to deal with today's privacy laws

Upload the gameplay parts if you can please.

Ok to confirm the video, the hero runs up slashes the enemy and the damage point number comes up. Then on the left of the screen a button com and comes up, the PlayStation triangle button logo and the word sakusen, aka battle plan. Looks classic turn based to me.

Yeah it seems like the footage started mid battle, after attack had already been chosen. Then the menu pops up again to select the next action.

Thank god. Turn based combat is so core to DQ, replacing it with MMO combat for no reason would never be a good thing.

It also creates better parity with the portable versions which we know are turn based.

Nothing described differs from DQ10 though. DQ10 doesn't have "MMO combat" as it is.

I'm still nervously waiting for news on the battle system.

I personally don't like the modern JRPG battle system at all. The whole control one character real time battle with other characters on autopilot. Really can't stand it. I've played a few games with it, despite the battle system (Star Ocean 'Til the End of Time, a good hunk of Xenoblade on 3ds, a few others) and I just don't get the attraction.
