The switch being both handheld and console means that the only restrictions it has to has, is on itself. Rather than the 3ds version causing the wii U version to loose things

EH to be fair the MCU has kind of given up on humans, their movie suspended, all of them now relegated to TV. And then the best season of the show they were on , had been taken over by ghost rider.

The leaker did say that his info was three months old, FWIW. That could account for discrepancies unless there's a serious red flag in what he's saying is true.

I know this is for roster talk and we've only had a "leak" so this is gonna get buried, but I hope they add a VS. CPU option in this game. I recently went back to playing UMvC3 and the first thing that I noticed was a lack of VS CPU which is a shame cause I wanted to see some of the reactions between characters without the need to go through arcade mode.
Niitsuma isn't involved with MvCI in any way.

Ignoring Ryce saying its fake, generally the real leak lists we've seen often have no explanation attached to them they're just a name dump see smash 4 gematsu leak, mvc3 leak, etc.
The people close enough to the development and decision making team to be able to actually leak that kind of info never do until years later outside of extreme circumstance exclusions like mm in mvc3 and ice climbers in smash 4.
Lets assume for a moment that his info IS 3 months old and was accurate at some point in development, we have someone with an actual track record for leaking stuff about mvci saying chunks of this list are bogus either because they're missing characters or has characters he knows aren't in the game. That would make most of this leaked list pointless unless we get a "why xyz were considered and dropped" from the developers that names the same characters.
Its a big and unrealistic stretch
If Ryce wanted to completely shut it down he could mention a character he legit knows is in and isn't on this roster to future proof himself.

Well for both the reasons for Mega Man and the Ice Climbers not getting in their respective games, it was the game director giving an official interview well after the game had already been released.
These leaks that try to give explanations as to why characters get in or why they got cut, are always fake as far as I'm aware.

Not involved with the game. It's primarily staff that worked on the CPS2 entries (MSHvSF and MvC1 were namedropped, I think) working on this.
I would have never figured we'd get a 100% internally developed fighter from Capcom ever again, let alone a Vs. Game. But here we are!
