As predicted last week, Activision top the final week of the year and take a fourth consecutive No1 thanks to ‘Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare'.

There's not much movement within the chasing pack: EA's ‘FIFA 17' remains at No2, EA's ‘Battlefield 1' remains at No3 and Rockstar/Take 2 end the year on a high by climbing 1 place to No4 with ‘Grand Theft Auto V'. GTA V was last seen as high as No4 some 12 weeks ago and has also been within the Top 4 for 12 weeks in 2016. Ubisoft drop one place to No5 with ‘WatchDogs 2', 2K/Take 2 remain at No6 with ‘Mafia III' and 505 Games' ‘Rocket League' climbs 5 places to No 7. Sony re-enter the Top 10 at No8, climbing 18 places with ‘Uncharted 4' – partly due to solus software price promotion across retail, partly due to promotional activity on the Official PS4 500GB with Uncharted 4, which this week accounts for 17% of PS4 hardware compared to just 6% of PS4's sold last week (average price on this SKU has dropped from around £218 in week 51 to £198 in week 52).

Uncharted 4 legs across Europe are the definition of insanity, what a juggernaut over here absolutely beasting!

I came into this thread ready to cringe at TLG's ranking - but it's actually didn't plummet entirely off a cliff like I assumed it would. Yay!

The eternal battle between the last guardian and dead rising 4 continues.

When EA gets sick of Plants vs. Zombies, I look forward to their new inspiration - Catbird vs. Zombies. There can be only one.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
The eternal battle between the last guardian and dead rising 4 continues.

I can kind of seeing Trico fucking up some zombies. Those suits of armor at least throw spears and are... well made of armor. I could Trico messing up some zombie hordes.

That's quite the domination for PS4 software here, even FIFA 17 who is probably still the major Xbox One bundle ?

ZhugeEx tweeted yesterday that PlayStation 4 was the best selling console in the UK during 2016 according to GfK which is not really surprising but we know Microsoft took September and October in the UK If I remember right.

Are numbers higher then 2015?

PS4 had a huge November with best week in history (not counting launch) and ~142K sold alone on that week.

Keep in mind that December usually is much bigger than November across Europe.

Didn't we already know the PS4 wiped out those losses on Black Friday alone?

Are there any official sales for The Last Guardian anywhere? I haven't heard a thing about how well it has performed since the game launched. I really hope it didn't flop.

It's sold poorly here or at least performed miserably based on chart history.

We only know it debuted higher than Ico and SOTC in the UK and sold more than 93.646 copies in Japan retail, if you want a number (more like 100.000 copies as of today). Beyond that, TLG was obviously not going to be a Christmas hit beside COD or Watch Dogs. Pretty sure the global reception has been decent enough for an unusual creation like this, plus a fair amount of GOTY mention.

If we consider TLG to be a "flop" I wonder what kind of word could reflect Dead Rising 4 situation.

Yeah it just makes me sad that the game finally released after all those years, it couldn't have been cheap to make. It'd be a shame since games like it are very hard to come by nowadays. Yeah though, obviously it wasn't a mega hit but I hope it at least breaks a million.

I'm tempted to say that when a game sells more than 100K in Japan only the million worldwide looks like a given, but honestly in TLG case I think we are going to need some December NPD number to have a better idea.

At this point, I wouldn't worry about it. It wouldn't have been cheap but Shu did specifically say it didn't have a US/European-style budget and that its budget was much smaller than Horizon's.

The Entertainment Retailers Association.will probably publish today or tomorrow the Entertainment Chart for 2016.

ERA's Entertainment Chart combines sales of music, video and games to provide a definitive ranking of the UK's most successful entertainment products.

Last year 5 games made it into the top 20.

Code:
[B]ERA ENTERTAINMENT CHART 2015[/B]

01. 25 Adele - 2,604,850
02. [B]FIFA 16 - 2,516,079[/B]
03. [B]Call Of Duty: Black Ops III - 1,928,813[/B]
04. Paddington - 1,180,437
05. [B]Fallout 4 - 1,126,929[/B]
06. Jurassic World - 1,052,790
07. The Hobbit - Battle Of The Five Armies - 1,021,059
08. [B]Star Wars Battlefront - 1,018,884[/B]
09. X Ed Sheeran - 1,001,845
10. [B]Grand Theft Auto V - 998,726[/B]
11. In The Lonely Hour Sam Smith - 925,147
12. If I Can Dream Elvis Presley - 924,377
13. Fifty Shades Of Grey - 909,152
14. Now! That's What I Call Music 92 - 841,800
15. Minions - 816,917
16. Avengers - Age Of Ultron - 804,652
17. Now! That's What I Call Music 90 - 784,719
18. Inside Out - 780,246
19. Big Hero 6 Walt Disney Studios - 766,164
20. The Hunger Games - Mockingjay - Pt 1 - 740,026

This year FIFA 17, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Battlefiled 1 will evidently chart since all of them surpassed the million mark. Last year FIFA 16 was very close to becoming the best-selling entertainment product of 2015, this year the first spot is locked in for Star Wars: The Force Awakens since it sold 1,818,949 units from April to June 2016.

If the top 20 cut-off is still at over 700,000 units, then maybe none other game than the three I have mentioned, and perhaps Tom Clancy's The Division too, will chart this year.

Isn't that uc4 survial/horde update out now? Probably helps selling uc4.

GTAV... Looking forward to the PS5 remaster who will sell another couple millions.

Nobody is going to doubt that IP ever again.

So what? It's selling which means people have interest in getting it, game could be free if people have no interest they won't buy it.

Uncharted legs in EU are Amazing.
It was more of a joke, since everytime someone applauds game for it's legs, someone has to come and downplay it with tired "it was cheap and bundled" phrase. UC4 selling great, no matter what is the reason, same with FH3. Good games tend to sell.

We have some weekly percentage changes but unfortunately the only game we can still track is Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

TOP 10 ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE (ALL PRICES), WEEK ENDING 31 December 2016

01 (01) CALL OF DUTY: INFINITE WARFARE (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD) - 98,300 / 1,245,500 [-26%]
02 (02) FIFA 17 (ELECTRONIC ARTS) [-8%]
03 (03) BATTLEFIELD 1 (ELECTRONIC ARTS)
04 (05) GRAND THEFT AUTO V (TAKE 2) [-12%]
05 (04) WATCH DOGS 2 (UBISOFT) [-42%]
06 (06) MAFIA III (TAKE 2)
07 (12) ROCKET LEAGUE (505 GAMES)
08 (26) UNCHARTED 4: A THIEF'S END (SONY COMPUTER ENT.) [+58%]
09 (07) STEEP (UBISOFT) [-47%]
10 (09) THE ELDER SCROLLS V: SKYRIM SPECIAL ED. (BETHESDA SOFTWORKS) [-34%]

(100%)

[2016] Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (Activision Blizzard) ~ 1,311,100
[2015] Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Activision Blizzard) - 1,928,813
[2014] Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (Activision Blizzard) - 1,837,025
[2013] Call of Duty: Ghosts (Activision Blizzard) - 1,991,994
[2012] Call of Duty: Black Ops II (Activision Blizzard) - 2,672,364
[2011] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (Activision Blizzard) - 3,127,343
[2010] Call of Duty: Black Ops (Activision Blizzard) - 3,266,298
[2009] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Activision Blizzard) - 2,926,637
[2008] Call of Duty: World at War (Activision Blizzard) - 1,489,991
[2007] Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Activision) - 1,038,938

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare sold around 1.3 million units in 2016, a big drop considering that a year ago Call of Duty: Black Ops III sold nearly 2 million units.

Pokemon doesn't seem to have good legs in UK. Is this normal?

I think a lot of big Nintendo releases here tend to sell well on their first week and then slide down the chart.

GTAV outselling this holidays big open world games is hilarious and sad.

Not to mention that WD2 is only so high up the charts because it has been slashed to sub-£30 everywhere. GTAV has been selling consistently amazing for years, and it's not too long ago when it started dropping in price.

Are there any official sales for The Last Guardian anywhere? I haven't heard a thing about how well it has performed since the game launched. I really hope it didn't flop.

I don't know if we'll ever find out, unless Sony gives up the information. It's the kind of game I can see selling 1-1.5 million lifetime. Not a lot, but hopefully it at least made a minor profit.

Yeah it just makes me sad that the game finally released after all those years, it couldn't have been cheap to make. It'd be a shame since games like it are very hard to come by nowadays. Yeah though, obviously it wasn't a mega hit but I hope it at least breaks a million.

That being said, it wasn't in full development for all that time, and I'm sure it was still notably cheaper to make than a fairly big western release like Dead Rising 4 or Homefront: The Revolution.

Everything else down.

This TOP lines with my previous comments... everything in the chart except U4 is down compared with last week due of the end of holidays sales in UK.

It is possible the numbers are below 10k outside the TOP10.

We'll never get numbers for TLG but its still pleasing to see it move up the charts from time to time.

I really hope it doesn't end up scaring Sony from making these types of games, although we know Shu has said funding diversity projects like this are a pillar for the ecosystem.

The eternal battle between the last guardian and dead rising 4 continues.

Still one of the weirder sales comparisons I've seen round these parts.
