Nioh: Free PVP mode in near future after launch

The season pass content will be added shortly after the game launch too.

My speculation is that you can put down a special bloody grave for people to summon you.

Edit: actually you know what, arena is better. I don't want them to over balance the skills and equipments for PvP

I feel like this is the kind of game that would benefit from PvP. Though I bet like Souls, it'll be ruined by not being completely perfect because it won't be perfect network conditions.

Ok now we're talking. I hope its like souls invasions.

As a pure swordsman I'm expecting to deal with tons of magic based fuckery in PvP, same as Souls games.

I'm currently playing a hex/whip build in DS2 SOTFS. Lets just say 90% of the people I come up against don't stand a chance.

Hell yeah. Balancing would require an impossible amount of work because of the loot system so I hope people are patient with them.

This game seems to be doing everything right. Free PVP/Arena mode in future is definitely welcomed.

I already like the system they currently have where dead online players you can fight against those characters i don't know what that's exactly called and i know that i will do alot i don't really play much PvP but will see or just carry on fighting with the dead graves
Also since this is their first time in new IP balancing for PvP will be hard i reckon especially considering the amount of arsenal of weapons, ninjitsus etcetc

Not anything I'd be interested in, I just hope they don't look "fight other cpu controlled dead players" behind ps plus.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
I'm totally on board with this but the mechanics sound incompatible with PvP.

Any reason behind this thinking as this game seems like it would be awesome in PVP with the multiple stances per weapon, the magic, long range and so on. It won't be perfectly balanced to start but the huge amount of play styles seems like it's going to be fun to experiment with.

Does it have any kind of MPOnline functionality as it is?

Co-op and PVE "invasions". When you die other players can challenge your corpse in their own game to get some of your gear - you don't lose anything though even if they win.

Yea, I honestly thought it was in from day one. I just assumed any Dark Souls clone would. I mean I'm still looking forward to it, but this surprised me.

Oh well that's good to hear at least. Co-op for NG+ or multiple playthroughs is a must have for me. Maybe even do the first run-through in co-op, who knows.

In alpha some of the missions were in daily rotation for "Twilight" version of the level, so super hard (different enemies and it was different time in the map) but greater loot, I have a feeling those will be fun to do in co-op for the gear.

It's a combat system built around comboing the fuck out of your opponent at high level play. If they don't rebalance weapon damage or hitstun for PvP, I'm not sure that the game is going to work. It'll be something to see in practice how it works not in theory so for the time being, I'm skeptical.

I don't see what the combo's have to do with anything negative. I anticipate the combo fests against other players especially if they do more than 1 on 1. Not too mention there are tons of combinations of specialties we've seen in the beta and alpha that don't even revolve around melee weapons like people downing bosses using only projectiles and long range weapons or one shotting hard enemies with magic. The fact that there are this many crazy combinations is what makes it exciting for me.

When the final beta hits, all of us better spam their feedback form with the Arena as the definite form of the PVP.

Oh, get read to get hit by a fucking slow talisman, caltrops, and big bomb spam. While it's cool they're offering a free PVP mode at some point, the game is most certainly not built for PVP. Way too easy to break.

That's probably they need sometime with the PVP. Arena mode where the weapons work differently will make the most sense.
