Was that not the game that had a early demo that they got feedback from ?
Guess they did not learn anything .

I dunno. Last week I was just browsing the store and saw a Chinese demo. Tried it out. It wasn't a game I can see myself ever wanting to play. And I played all 3 previous Valkyrias!

Who is this game for?

----------

Sorry for not posting pics from last week!

Go Plus had been restocked since then, but there were very few units.

The FFXV drama continues... now is 3.970yen.

Even though, Switch pre-orders don't start until January 21th, stores are giving it a lot of shelf space. So first day reservations should be quite crowded.

Pre-orders for MHXX have increased since the Switch version wasn't confirmed.

Media Create Sell-through

01./00. [PS4] Kingdom Hearts HD II.8 Final Chapter Prologue <RPG> (Square Enix) {2017.01.12} (¥6.800) - 137.797 / NEW <86,31%> [Units shipped => 159.653]

According to Media Create, pre-orders of KH 1.5 + 2.5 for PS4 (release date March 9th) increased 30,20% this week thanks to the release of 2.8.

_____

First Day Sell-through {2017.01.19}

[PS4] Gravity Rush 2 <ADV> (Sony Interactive Entertainment) (¥6.900) - 50%

[PS4] [PSV] Valkyria Revolution <SLG> (Sega) (¥7.990) (¥6.990) - 50%

[3DS] Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World <ACT> (Nintendo) (¥4.700) - 40%
I am glad to see the renewed interest in the franchise after the long period of silence in term of new game releases.

KH 3D was also a huge drop from the sales of its predecessors so hopefully KH3 can sell atleast half million.

I dunno. Last week I was just browsing the store and saw a Chinese demo. Tried it out. It wasn't a game I can see myself ever wanting to play. And I played all 3 previous Valkyrias!

Who is this game for?

People who didn't play any previous Valkyrias because they were too weird for them and want something traditional.

But it seems like those people might also just not like this new one, either. Good going Sega.

I don't think so? There's nothing traditional about this one either. It's not a normal RPG. It's just a bad weird RPG.

Initial shipments for Wii, 3DS and Wii U were in the 300-400k range. Vita and PS4 were there too. It will be no different this time.

Software is more interesting. With an attach ratio close to 1, Zelda being the #1 title by default and nothing else remotely close to Zelda from Nintendo and third parties we could see a big opening for it.

I'm not sure if understand what you are implying there correctly. You think Splatoon 2 and Minecraft will outsell all of 3DS's 2017 top 10 combined? I know you are very confident in Splatoon 2, but I don't see how it's possible for that to happen in Japan when we're likely going to see Monster Hunter XX, a new Fire Emblem and Dragon Quest XI on 3DS. Even if Dragon Quest XI will miss its date, we are looking at what? 2.5 million for XX and FE?

Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Monster Hunter XX alone will sell more than Splatoon 2 and Minecraft Switch combined this year.

I would keep my expectations down for both XX and FE.

Guess they did not learn anything .

Yeah, the first demo is hilariously terrible, amateurish even. The second was 'improved' by feedback and the combat was largely different after the director realized they had to inject "strategy" into the game because it's called Valkyria. duh, no shit. The second demo is still completely garbage despite those improvements. They would probably have done better if they didn't release any demo and just got those blind buyers on the brand name.

Keikaku for Capcom means no Switch.^^

And lol that in Rakuten, Yoshi beat Valkyria there.O_O

Yoshi is selling well. Is having stock problems in some stores. Just being in Yodobashi Akiba and the game was nowhere to be seen.

Same situation in other stores:

U no believe in the keikaku of Capcom and power of FE waifu there Chris?O_O

I can't see Double Cross shipping 2 million by March just in 3DS. Capcom's keikaku will fail.

I can't see Double Cross shipping more than 2 million LTD, not by March.

As for FE, DS remakes are the base for sales.

Splatoon sold 1 mil on a completely dead platform and single handedly lifted Wii U sales in 2015.

Maybe Splatoon 2 will not sell 5 mil but it's going to be absolutely huge.

No one argued the opposite, can we find some middle ground please.

Also Splatoon is >1.5m on Wii U

Are these not a little disappointing? Definitely without knowing the shipment we can't predict but I think shipment will be in the range of 60 to 80 k

Nice for Yoshi lol. Guess it is going to be another title doing well after being freed from the Wii U shackles lol.

And u and Chris lol. Are u guys twin there.^^ I can see Capcom shipping 2 mil actually lol. I mean, they need something to sell more here lol as their other software is not going to do any big there.^^

FE doing around FE:Shadow Dragon seems impossible for me lol. I mean, at least this one had much much better art vs SD there so that should already help a lot.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Konami are BACK!

100% Pasukaru Sensei: Perfect Paint Bombers coming to 3DS this Summer.

Is it just me or has Konami started releasing a lot more titles for Nintendo consoles in the past few months.

As an additional info, this is one of the 13 interviews to 14 creators that Famitsu have posted online. I suppose this could be part of next week issue's feature, where 30+ creators give their own opinion on Nintendo Switch. If you're interested, here's all the parts posted on Famitsu.com so far

Part 1 - https://www.famitsu.com/news/201701/13124804.html
Part 2 - https://www.famitsu.com/news/201701/13124828.html
Part 3 - https://www.famitsu.com/news/201701/20125197.html

In Part 2, you can see Harada. So, he was at the event. At this point, if Tekken 7 for Switch doesn't happen, I'll never understand why he didn't clearly state it was not coming in that Gamestop interview from months ago, it would've saved us from useless speculation

250k isn't any extraordinary number. Maybe it will be closer to 200k but still DS games give an idea of what it will sell. If you expect this remake to be close to sales of 3DS main entries it's not happening.

Squidbump - people would always underestimate the Squid. Selling x2.5 of what the Wii U version did is somehow seen as impossible by some to me it seems the minimum. Splatoon 2 won't have hardware supply issues and is available on a handheld device and allows local multiplayer in school/parks/beach/cafes/karaoke booths etc.
Splatoon would have been easily past 2 million on the Wii U if it didn't have supply issues - saying Splatoon 2 would sell over 5 million based on how well the game did on the Wii U and the trends in google/twitter/youtube is somehow seen as unrealistic by some. There was a huge wall of shame related to the release of the first game - I'm guessing a lot of people are underestimating Splatoon 2 as well.

Splatoon 2 Reveal - 1.55 million views in Japan(16th most watch video of all time in less than a week)
Mario Odyssey - 1 mil
Zelda: BOTW - 1 mil

Google Trends Japan 12 months: Splatoon vs Zelda vs Super Mario
*big spike for Mario was around SMM/SMR release.

I mean how people aren't expecting at the very least 2 or 3 times the audience on a handheld in Japan compared to the Wii U is beyond me. They haven't even started marketing for Splatoon 2 yet...

I think if the Switch takes off, Splatoon 2 has a good 2.5+ million in it. 5 million is a bit too much but who knows.

Also, MHXX Switch Direct in April-May, game will come out in July-August. Capcom want to squeeze as much as they can out of the 3DS version, so they'll give it some room to sell.

Nah, I don't agree with him about FE. I think the game has potencial for >300k. Better than the DS versions for sure.

Definitely. Fans don't care if about it being a remake. Most of them weren't born when this was released.

This game is also older than the breakout title for the SNES. Fe3 really didn't need the remakes, this game does.

I don't expect anything close to If numbers just because of how many SKUs that game got, but it will be interesting to see Fire Emblem heroes affect on this.
