I haven't played the game but i kinda would feel trolled if they release this instead of gtav

Edit: oh wait, it's a remaster coming to all systems? Then I'm ok with that!

This. If they are gonna port anything it's GTAV. And that seems not happening.

It's like third parties want to see Nintendo burn. I would much rather buy a remaster of RDR1. Oh well maybe they addes more content

The Wii got 3 Rockstar games, with Bully and Table tennis being ports much in the same vein as this rumored release. It's not exactly unprecedented.

I forgot all about Bully and Table Tennis on Wii lol, but yea Wii was a sales phenomenon they had to put something on it.

Other then that they have ignored Nintendo consoles, if this is true, its a good sign they are putting something on it early on

Huh? I don't get this sentiment. The game is supposedly coming to all platforms. It's not like rockstar have gone out of their way to bring a game to switch that no-one asked for just so it would bomb.

Rockstar have remastered it and they've done it for Switch as well. This is a good thing which i would rather see than them flat out overlook the device.

Is a port of an old game all that different from a port of an old game 10 years ago? For the third party situtation to really change on Switch (to the extent it can, I doubt we are ever going to see parity with consoles/PC in terms of games like RDR2 or GTA6) it's gonna take more than token ports like skyrim or LA Noire.

Include all the DLC and you've got a sale from me. I love LA Noire, and Cole Phelps' psychotic outbreaks on random victims. Underrated game.

LA Noire Remaster?

For the Switch?

Based on a tweet from a guy?

C'mon son.

Credit to OP, he does state that the "leaker" has a spotty record, and that although he has been correct in the past that this still is a rumor going out there.

A remaster 5-6 years later is...absolutly okay?! It is a game from the previous generation. Hell you get a FF12 Remaster in a few months.
Nothing special here tbh.

Yeah, nothing wrong with the timing.
What's weird is the game wasn't well received enough to warrant a remaster in first place, unless it's just held back by small-ish issues they are confident they can fix, which I doubt. I thought LA Noire issues were structural, never played it though.
Now, portable GTA or table tennis would be good

This is such an odd-ass rumor, though. Like almost nothing about it makes any sense. There's no desire for the game. Nothing resembling any fond memories of it. It's not like it's a lost treasure. Everyone's had a chance to discover the thing by now. What post-release media there is has almost entirely focused on the joke aspects of it (specifically, that its a terrible detective simulator but a great dark comedy about the worst fucking cop in the world) and there is little to no possibility of anyone paying anything more than 10 bucks for it at best.

What happened to those rumors about Red Dead getting some sort of remaster or rework or re-SOMETHING alongside the sequel finally dropping? And yes, I know such rumors (there were rumors, right?) were just as shaky as this one is, due to the long and storied history of its code looking like the back of your granpa's entertainment center.

RDR 1 on Switch might move something. Hell, as was mentioned upthread, BULLY would probably move more than Noire would. The entertainment value for Noire at this point is almost solely in youtube videos and gifs. Not the act of actually playing the fuckin thing.

I liked LA noir. If they made some proper changes to it that weren't just "here's a slightly better looking version" than maybe I'd double dip.

They'd need to overhaul the entire interrogation system to make it a passable modern game. Who knows though maybe they are doing that.

If this is real I'd pick it up. I actually really enjoyed L.A Noire (although the game was certainly heavily flawed) and I never played the DLC.

Who has said that? Or do you have to spout off nonsense straw men to make yourself feel better and help you deal with the persecution complex?

I enjoyed the game but have zero reason to play it again. It was all about the story/stories, once you've beaten it there's not a huge urge to rebuy the game and do it all again.

I think something like this is one of the only ways they'll get people to bite on any system. I don't think a straight port will cut it.

If it's coming to PS4 and X1 as well, can't say I can really care or complain. I certainly won't buy it, it's not a good game.

There is a positive look at this. It shows the Switch is easy to port to and Rockstar is willing to develop for it. Of course their expectations won't be high for LA Noire.

But this is atleast a small step closer to a reality where GTAV comes to switch. Portable GTAV would be noteworthy. GTAV on a Nintendo platform would be noteworthy. It would sell well and be positive for Rockstar and Nintendo.

Bring fucking GTAV to Switch Rockstar. Do it. We know you can do it. Do it.

I don't think it'd take too much to fix them (or improve them at least) if they put the work in. Like they need to rename doubt, explain when to use it over truth or lie and fix the conversations where the choices are bullshit. It would be mostly doable without recording new VO or anything. There's probably no chance they do this though.

Nah, I wouldn't waste my time playing through that game again. I do like the idea of remasters, though; the more the better.

What a random choice.

I love LA Noire but it's hardly a killer app.

I don't think they will market it as a killer app. But it is still a strange choice, maybe they want to re-introduce the franchise throughout all platforms (Switch timed exclusive) before developing LA Noire 2 or a game which uses its features?

When does this game fall apart? Vice desk? Can't remember

When
you find out that you were wrong on a good portion of your cases and either doing or being forced to typecast people because of their looks or past. It still pisses me off that I got chastised by my co for thinking that the prick star wars dad killed his wife. "No the creepy janitor had to be the culprit, because reasons..."

The only way this would have any possible way of gaining traction on the Switch is if it was a launch title with some unique way to play.

Like...of all the games...I don't even.

Did Nintendo want it or something?

Might not be a popular opinion in this thread, but I really hope this rumor is true. The facial animation in this game was way ahead of its time and I love a good film noir mystery.

Maybe they want to test the waters out and see what kind of audience it will have for future titles? I could 100% wrong. Lol.
