Please buy Edge to support great writing!

Edge is on Newsstand in the Google Play Store and it's a separate app in the iOS App Store.

Zinio will likely update with the latest issue in the course of the day, and features a desktop reader for those without tablets or tablet-sized smartphones.

Edge is also available on Readly, a Netflix-type subscription service for magazines.
For the UK at least it's got Edge, OXM, OPM, Gamesmaster, GamesTM, etc. as well as their European counterparts.

My fave gaming mag! Great cover like almost always. Will be buying like I've done every month for about 15 years, even though its almost 15 euros here in the Netherlands lol.

Digital subscriptions are actually quite cheap outside of the UK! But you need a nice tablet to get a proper reading experience.

I know. I like my magazines physical. Although I've thrown away so many old Edges (and other international magazines) every time I've moved in my life. I guess I've thrown away thousands of dollars of magazines :(

What does that supposed to mean? Quoting me with my avatar?

Yes, I love RDR and I was disappointed because I expect GI to cover it like they did with other R* games.

Just a throwaway joke about how it makes sense for someone with that avatar to look forward to RDR news :) Maybe next month! Sorry if I offended you.

anything interesting about the Switch and ARMS?
Any new info about the Switch?

I'll scan for big news if there's any but again, if the contents of the magazine intrigue you, please buy it :)

How could they be so mean about Yoshi?

You have to be a cold-hearted individual indeed not to get the warm & fuzzies from that game.

Original Gravity Rush got an 8. What a drag.

Interested to hear what Barry Meade has to say also. Haven't heard much from him before. Looking forward to reading their take on Switch, Astroneer and Yooka Laylee if my copy arrives today.

edit. Next month appears to be Zelda.

You should seriously subscribe to it, I get it quicker than the retailers do here in Scandinavia and only pay about 80 euros a year for 13 magazines.

I'll buy this issue just because of your elegant request. I promise you. But can I purchase a digital version for my laptop or is it strictly for smartphones/tablets? I'm not a big fan of digital magazines so I'm a little inexperienced when it comes to them.

Alright, so this is sort of interesting.

From a Q&A with Aonuma.

How about speeding up development processes? Does the Switch architecture mean you can unify your handheld and console software teams, enabling you to get games out more quickly?

There's an element of that, but it doesn't automatically mean things wil happen more quickly or more easily. Plus, Nintendo 3DS still has plenty of titles in development. The concept of the Switch is that you have a home console that you can take with you on the go, and in that respect it is both home console and handheld, but it doesn't mean for us that the concept of a dedicated handheld will just disappear.

Apart from that, no big news in the Switch feature. A lot of gorgeous photos though and it's very informative. Their overall tone on Switch is rather negative for all the reasons we've heard here at GAF many times before. Pricey, too many features leading to compromise in a couple of places, lack of launch software, etcetera.

Zinio, where you can buy the newest Edge later today, has a desktop reader. I'll update the OP with info for all digital platforms.

Curious to read the reasons for them giving GR2 a 6, especially when 1 got an 8.
6 for Gravity Rush 2...seems like Edge's usual attempt at edginess...

'Bland combat, wayward camera, stodgy missions'

Nathan wasn't super hot on the Vive either from my memory. His account of setting it up was a bit of a comedy of errors. He's really down on the Switch overall. From the joy con, to the pricing and the software line up. It paints a picture of wait and see. What I appreciate about his take is that he tries to see it form the average person's perspective.

He is working on RRP though. Zelda, a pro controller and a Switch is 410 RRP, but can be had for 393 on certain retailers. Small difference but he does raise how far that money goes on other hardware this year.

Interesting that they chose Switch as the cover yet are down on it overall. good to see that an Edge cover isn't just a marketing piece.

Don't know why but seeing the console and controller at that angle just makes me think it'll be another Wii U in terms of success.

It already looks dated.

Gravity Rush 2 got a 6?

Interesting, I thought the demo was crappy and I guess I was right.

Not to stir anything up but I agree. I downloaded the demo due to the hype from GAF and didn't really get it at all, seemed like a lot of floating around but I just didn't find it that fun. Not that that has anything to do with this review though seeing as they apparently liked the original enough to give it an 8, they must have found little to enjoy in the sequel.

Reminder that Edge is also on readly (or will be shortly) along with many other magazines for a monthly subscription of about 8 quid.

Is that a Netflix type of deal but for magazines?

Bollocks. EDGE doesn't need to appear edgy given that's it's probably the most respected magazine in the biz.

Everyone knows this but salty people keep flinging that accusation regardless.
