This is a game created by a Spanish youtuber known as DalasReview. This Youtuber is famous for pretty messed up stuff, and also uses the word feminazi which should tell you a lot of stuff about him. Let's just say he's the most hated Youtuber in Spain, and for good reason.

The thing is that he's now developing a videogame, and it alledgely uses stolen assets from Banjo-Kazooie. A Steam early access game, that already passed Greenlight, that costs money. You can buy this game today, and it contains the stolen assets.

A Spanish video game site wrote an article about it, and said article is now gone. He probably threatened them.

I think that this game should me removed form Steam Greenlight to be honest, he is STEALING ASSETS. But considering he is already censoring people, this seems somewhat hard. That's why I am trying to make noise about this. He can't censor people.

If Jim Sterling were to make REAL noise about this, now that would be pretty fantastic. This is what he deserves, doing this and maintaining that attitude.

EDIT: Apparently he is banning people from the game's steam page if they leave bad reviews.

It's one (very bad, don't get me wrong) thing to steal assets, but it's another to be too lazy to take even the most obvious and simple steps to hide it.

Reminds me of some programming assignments handed in by students :p

Also his character design looks like a poor man version of Yooka-Laylee.

If he doesn't intend on using them in the final game that's fine; But, if he's using the stolen assets to promote his game, then that's wrong.

It's okay to use assets from other games to prototype.

So like, the guy seems dumb, but literally the only evidence is one screenshot of 3 files? Like, are they even used in game? Could just be left over from placeholder testing, especially since it's in early access and not that surprising if it's just music.

If the guy is sketchy about it, sure, that's bad, but are you sure this isn't overreaction? Nothing about any of the sources in English gives any more evidence than that one screenshot.

Uhhh... he actually seems to be saying that those files are "illegally extracted" from his game, not that he is using illegally extracted files.

For example, if he was using BK music as placeholder mood music in development, but didn't remove those files from his build, then someone else has decompiled his project files to say he is using BK music

Heavy rumours of him allegedly harassing minors into sending intimate pictures, and some of these minors straight up confirming it themselves on Twitter. I won't go into too much detail, and I won't outright say that he did this stuff, but you can start your own line of investigation if you want.

Is it because he's somewhere in Spain, and thinks the two Publishers are too big, and not worried enough about his little game to seek damages?

Not defending the A-hole, just wondering, maybe he knows something we don't (maybe the dude is to narcissistic to admit he got permission... Highly doubtful, but possible.

He's not admitting that he extracted the files from other games and that's illegal. He's saying that extracting the files from HIS game to discover this is illegal.

Secondly, stolen assets are stolen whether they are actually used in the game or not. The fact that these files shipped is the illegal part. This is why it is never a good idea to use assets from other games for prototyping, a practice that most large developers ban specifically for this reason.

Those are unreal assets, it would be pretty easy to get them models in ue4. Doesnt require a lot of brain power.

But could just be placeholder models. Used as references to be replaced.

I never said it was ok or not. As much as some people might not like it it's become a common use word by young spanish folks on the net nowadays. Even if the meaning it's not appropiate.

Haven't heard of this game, so I checked out the Greenlight page, the trailer started to play automatically, and at one point he says something along the lines of, "and at the end of each level is a boss which you will have to defeat, or you can hack the game, I won't judge you."

Don't dig through the files and uncover stolen assets though. That's a no-no apparently.

Edit: Music is also HEAVILY inspired by David Wise's work it sounds like.

I'm not trying to. Anything related to Dalas tends to be overreacted on the net, when it's just an A-hole doing shit. The people that keep complaining are the ones that made him famous. Also a thief doesn't need to be a killer, if that makes any sense. Lots of people have stolen assets in the past, just like the guys who made that Tokkusatsu-named game that stole skyrim assets and had the Zelda font.

The game looks like your standard indie Unity title with a mish-mash of community created models and textures. I wouldn't be surprised.

People shouldn't react to his behavior? Why should he be exempt from criticism? Guess what...if you go on the Internet and act like an assholes, people will call you out on it. Just because other people steal assets doesn't make it OK for him to do, nor does it excuse his other behavior.

This dude is the most explicit representation of the word "cancer" on Youtube Spain. All he does is bullshit, sexist and when you tell him he's doing wrong his only response is either insulting you or instablocking you on his social networks. He is 23 yo and he already has like 5 sexist violence impeachments.

Moreover, and this is important to know too, is that he's banning all people that are leaving negative reviews on the steam's game page.

Worst of all is that he's getting fucking rich because all the toxic content he does on Youtube is suceeding. Like all the toxic content on Youtube Spain. We got what we deserve.

Hopefully he gets into a court for all this assets thing. He really needs it.

First of all, Dalas is not a game developer. He is a sexist, scummy douchebag and gets lots of hate for it. tried to hit it off with underage girls too.

I wouldn't think twice if someone told me Dalas stole assets or whatever, he most likely did it. Complete piece of shit of a human being.
