Rolled my eyes at the comment about the food when she started choking. Cast seem cool but the film has none of the visual charm the original film had with its production design.

I mean it's a 5 minute clip and I thought the set looks awesome but I agree I kinda cringed at the exact lines from alien. I believe the part "this is barely food" was in it too.
And this isn't in the final movie

Obviously going for the same feel as the table scenes from Alien. And I think it largely succeeds. These characters feel lived-in and present. Count me in.

I'm not too miffed about the aesthetic being cleaner than Alien, but while the play on our expectations was cute, I'm hoping the movie isn't gonna thrive off of winking homages to a much better film (though I suspect it will). Overall this was a decent little prologue though, the cast seems to have more chemistry and character than the Prometheus crew already.

Yeah I would have rather have seen this and not the trailer too.

I should have been more specific, what I meant to say is that this clip continues to reaffirm what I got from seeing the trailer when it first dropped. I'm aware it's separate but we're still going to see the same setting used in the final movie.

Is it just me, or is the sound for the dialogue really...awful? Not talking about the lines themself or the delivery, I mean technically it sounds kind of bad. You can hear where lines get cut, and there's a general unbalanced mixing job going on that's bugging me. At one point it sounds like a clip on mic is literally scratching against someones jacket.

I liked the callback to the Alien dinner scene. Otherwise nothing really stood out, though they seem to have a solid cast this time around. Nice set.

Still going in with the expectation it will be dreadful and the hope that it isn't.

Looks pretty, I don't care how dumb and badly written Ridley's movies can be, they're worth it for the visuals alone.

Is that the same David as Prometheus, or just another of the same model?

Also, a bit disappointed to hear that Marc Streitenfeld isn't returning as composer. Prometheus has some great themes in it. Such as this.

For a promotional short that wont be in the actual movie, I'm okay with a wink and a nod. Pretty fun, actually. As long as they're not pulling that kind of stuff in the movie proper.

It really is going to be about space Jesus again.

Which one is Judah??

Anyway that was crap, fake sentimentality and fake character building.

Dear Ridley Scott,

Please stop trying to shoehorn Space Jesus into Alien. Also, please stop trying to recreate the success of the original by literally recreating pieces of the original.

Sincerely,
Every Alien Fan

PS just make a different sci-fi movie

I thought this was a joke when I saw Franco and McBride. Can't believe these guys are in an Alien movie.

I'm not feeling it. And I know I'm nitpicking but it really bothers me when characters in sci-fi movies go to unexplored planets and remove their helmets. I don't care if you can breath the air, there will be pathogens in it. Don't be stupid.

This too.

I really liked it. Pretty much everyone had sold chemistry.

However I'm obligated to see this movie, as I consider Alien and Aliens to be perfect movies. This will be the last piece of media I watch on the movie. Trailers spoil way too much these days.

Gah, that was corny as shit. The music killed it at the end.

I had the feeling that David slapped her so hard the alien inside backed down, that's what I got from his menacing/cold stare. 'Too soon' (I know that was just a silly reference, and that this isn't actually the case)
