New Dell Monitors 24 or 27 inch IPS HDR 4k via HDMI 2.0 $290 or $380

I wouldn't really call these HDR. IPS (without full array LED backlighting) doesn't have the contrast ratio to show a good general HDR image.

Of course, the same reservation applies to some cheap "HDR" TVs.

All you need to check is pixel pitch

Pixel Pitch
0.2745 mm x 0.2745 mm

those are 1080p - 4k thing is most likely just what signal they accept since they have hdmi 2.0

More detailed and stunning colors: A wide viewing angle enabled by In-plane switching technology and more than 99% coverage on the sRGB spectrum lets you see rich colors, depth and a wider range of shades – no matter where you sit. Plus, you’ll see it all in Full HD (1920x1080) clarity.

Why does nothing else say that it's 4K??

I don't think these displays will get bright enough to properly display HDR. I know most TVs need to hit 1K nit of brightness to be considered good HDR TVs.

I can't stand 4k at 27 inches. I returned mine and bought a 4k, 49 inch, HDR, IPS TV instead. Sony X800D I think. The only sacrifice is cash and response time but you get used to it easy.

Thats funny i returned that tv cause it had a horrible interface and ugly colors. Also 49 inch was way to big

Normally dell ultrasharps are amazing in quality

so this is not just some type-o on the site. I might be buying this asap

"Setting the maximum resolution of Movie HDR and Game HDR
1. In Windows 7, Windows 8,Windows 8.1, Windows 10.
2. Select the OSD Movie HDR or Game HDR.
3. Right-click on desktop and click screen resolution.
4. Click the dropdown list of screen resolution and select 3840×2160.
5. Click OK."

The overview makes no mention of 4k support, just the tech specs... really sounds like a 1080p panel that accepts 4k input. Strange for a monitor, but I know epson and jvc projectors do that.

Native Resolution
1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz (VGA/HDMI 1.4) / 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz (HDMI 2.0)

This does not add up.

TV does indeed look ugly out of the box, but rtings recommended settings made it look much better. Don't much care about the interface since I use it primarily as a PC monitor and I never even use the smart features. It's a nice bonus though. As for the size, I essentially use it as 4 x 24 inch 1080p monitors with the option of using it as a full screen 4k when I wanna kick back and play a game full screen with a controller or something.

from the 27 inch manual

"Maximum preset resolution 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz for VGA port.
1920 x 1080 at 75 Hz for HDMI 1.4 port.
3840 x 2160 at 60Hz for HDMI 2.0 port"

from the 24 inch manual

"Maximum preset resolution 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz(VGA/HDMI1.4)
3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz (HDMI2.0)"

They both say they support 4k with HDR in the manual as well

Why does it have VGA and it seems only one port is HDMI 2.0. If you intend to connect multiple newer devices, this doesn't seem like a good monitor.

I'm sure the port supports a 4k and HDR signal.

But the panel is 1080p, and the effective contrast ratio isn't really up to "HDR" standards either.

To anyone who is familiar with dells 4K models is there a significant different in the P line 4K monitors. I just bought one the other day and the price is 100 difference.

OMG. I need review now.

My 2408WFP has lived an an incredibly long life.

But when I turn it on there's like 30 vertical lines going down the right side of the screen.

After about 20 minutes it goes away. But in the last year. One cyan coloured line remains.

It'd be pretty good to upgrade to 4k and HDR.

Ah, too good to be true =|

I think the description in the Overview section pretty much confirms it's a 1080p panel as Durante said:

Hahaha. There are way much other flaws than input delay with TVs.
