Game Informer April Cover: Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

So can anyone tell what this is exactly? Is it UC4 DLC or is it a standalone expansion? Is it digital only and/or retail release? And content wise is is big or long or do we not know yet?

I finished UC4 on a friends PS4 but haven't kept up with the news since so I'm not really familiar with this yet.

It's a standalone expansion that was originally planned as a DLC pack for Uncharted 4, but majorly expanded.

It is getting a physical release, so it's almost assuredly at least $40 as it's very rare for physical products to ship for less than that.

We have no idea of the size, but maybe the article will say something.

That said, I think the more interesting implication is that we might get more of this kind of thing given how long it takes to make games now, and some of the comments in the video are interesting toward that end.

I hope its not like UC4

Honestly, as someone who still liked UC4, I agree. I'm playing through Rise of the Tomb Raider now and I think that game is actually just a lot more fun to play than UC4 was. Don't get me wrong the writing, story, etc are vastly superior in UC4 but I'll be honest I missed some of the action from precious installments with that game.

Hoping this features a lot more set pieces / combat like the older games

It feels like they could be passing the uncharted torch setting up a full release with Chloe as the main character. They've always said that it's the end of drakes adventure not the series.

What with it being so much more substantial, how do I know whether or not I'll have this? I bought the 75 euro or whatever digital Deluxe edition, and I think I remember that version including the single player DLC.

Pretty sure you will be fine if its the one with the season pass before it was took down.

I already knew it was getting a physical release but it seems like this game is going to be larger and a bigger deal than I initially expected. They're positioning it as almost a full game release... I can dig it.

im thinking more along the lines of Infamous: First Light. bigger than a DLC release but not big enough to be called a full AAA production title.

mid tier game to give Chloe a chance to carry the uncharted torch going forward?

Please don't stereotype the fuck out of Indian locales. There are modern cities in India too, not just slums, ancient structures and temples.

that would be even better - i want UC to be a linear, set-piece driven action adventure game with excellent pacing. it's why i love UC2 so much.

Yeah, it might not be a bad idea. Get rid of all the tedious traversal segments too.

I think Kurt (the game's Director) said at the PSX panel that this might be even more open then Uncharted 4

I'm assuming that means backtracking and maybe some kind of mini hub world or something.

Just watched the coverage video:

A developer says: "Everyone's still really excited about Uncharted. I think there will be an empty spot in everyone's heart if we never come back."

Okay, definitely the first of many.

I want my Sully x Sam or Sully x Chloe adventure DLC next!

If its pre it makes more sense to me, I imagine Chloe will be hostile/reluctant towards Nadine since I imagine Chloe would have found out about her run ins with Drake and Sam.

Bought the season pass before it was discontinued just so I can have this game already payed for (and potentially cheaper). Love UC4 and while I am done with the franchise I like the idea of playing with Chloe which really took me by surprise, thought for sure it was going to be Sam.

It's really a shame that Sony forces Naughty Dog to make more standalone uncharted content instead of giving them the creative freedom to make whatever they want. Clearly the devs there deserve to be unshackled to unleash their creativity in new franchises rather than pumping out sequels or side content for existing IP, but Sony forces them to make safer content. /s

That would be terrible.

Why would you want side quest in Uncharted?

To have something more to do besides story missions, sidequests expanding the story.

Also I like a lot the gunplay and gameplay of this game a lot so more to kill and to do the better for me.

The multiplayer part of the game is already there for that though.

Wow, I thought Elena looked different (UC2 Elena is still the best), Chloe looks like a different person entirely. Anyway i'm looking forward to this, its been long enough since 4 for me to get excited again.

Sony let them make TLoU and you can try new things with these smaller standalone games as well. I also believe they'll create a new IP for PS5. Sci-fi, hopefully.

Watch out GG, ND is coming back for that graphic crown before TLOU2!

I think God of War will take it next year.
