iOS Gaming March 2017 | Switch to iOS

I tried to be as much ignorant as I could about Kingdom New Lands in the last months.

My first impact with the game was absolutely GLORIOUS.

Can't wait to continue playing tucked in bed with headphones.

Just the music and the graphics/animations/reflections justify the price of admission but the 'exploration' and 'mysteries' scattered in this world are incredible.

The roguelike thing really puts me off from a lot of games. For a premium game, I like persistent progress and not having to restart from the beginning when I die. I find my options become more limited as time goes on since many devs are hopping on the roguelike trend.

The Silver Bullet is free for the first time. Excellent, challenging Bayonetta-esque dual-stick shooter with some cool bosses and a nice sci-fi story. It's a huge 2 GB download though and a little rough around the edges.

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id992340402

Interestingly, it's free due to the impeachment of the South Korean PM through 3/13.

Kepa on TA forums said that DRtC will be submitted within a few days time for review. It's exciting to think that we may get both Card Thief and Death Road to Canada before the end of the month. 😁

Apple is celebrating indies in the 10 days.

It may or may not be the reason because so many indie games were delayed with no release date until now.

I suspect backlogs all over the world will get bigger and bigger by the end of the month.

On a side note my first night with Kindgom New lands left me in glorious love with the game and with my eyes bleeding.

I have some ideas already that I want to try in game as soon as possible and I just noticed I explored just a dot on a big map. O_O

Just for your information, actually Kingdom new lands HAS iCloud sync.

Played on hour on iPad...downloaded the game on iPhone and started where I left on iPad.

Oh, then my info was wrong, glad to know that :)

Curious to see what games Apple will feature during this really long event.

Yeah I was (pleasantly) surprised too.
I think yesterday problems for some were due to iCloud malfunction (confirmed by Apple).

Btw the game is GLORIOUS on iPhone.
Controls couldn't be more perfect than this.

I *THINK* Card Crawl will be out very soon as part of this event.
And the 20 another hopefully big game will be announced. (You may or may not want to check it out ;) ).

Somehow The Witness got released on the Mac Appstore yesterday so it could be part of this event. What better way to celebrate indie gaming than by having one of the most critically acclaimed game in the last few years.

Your tease about the 20th does line up quite coincidentally with the end of the event ;)

Damn The Witness out next week could be a huge blow to my backlog too.
This is shaping to be a GLORIOUS year.
Basically just Darkest Dungeon is missing the party.

On a side note I just died on day 11 in Kingdom New Lands.
You know you are playing a great game when, while sad, you immediately restart a new game.

One of my favorite activities (that lead me to discover some mysteries) is following the little people in their daily routines.
My favorite one is (was) Robin Hood, as I called a green guy that was a real KILLER with rabbits during the day.

It was since Sword&Sworcery that I didn't fell in love so much with pixel art.

Card Thief is confirmed part of the Apple Store indie event, as per TA forum dev post.
You guys are in for a real threat.
And the game looks GORGEOUS.

Apparently starting next week we will see new indie games promoted and out every day.

Prepare your wallets.

I bet we'll be seeing Death Road next week as well

What else...

Well we know that Bit City is Monday's selection, Zach Gage's next game is going to be Saturday's (of next week)

Death Road and Card Thief are mostly confirmed so that leaves us with quite a few potential games still.

I could actually see the first four (or at least one of these). I really doubt we're going to see Darkest Dungeon anytime soon on mobile.

Hoping is free.
Maybe they are planning this since a year :p

Yeah I know we won't get it anytime soon, sigh

Damn, you guys are getting me hyped. So we will get a new indie game each day next week?

Killercow, More_Badass, our work here is done. :p

Seriously it could be even a sale of already know game, like Love you to Bits (something Apple already does weekly). Or updates.

I think nobody knows for sure...it's the first time Apple does something like this.
It has asked some participating devs NOT to say when they are publishing new games, and we already know it can be on whatever day of the week.

EDIT: apparently it's a new game (or games) each day of the week, Apple just tweeted this:
@AppStoreGames: Check back every day for brand-new indie games—made by small, self-funded, and self-published teams.

Oh, I think I know another one that could pop up: KAMI 2 by State of Play.

So confirmed:
Bit City
Card Thief
Golf Zero
Cosmic Express
TypeShift

Potential:
Kami 2
Death Road To Canada
Euclidean Lands (dev said "really soon" in a tweet last week)

So looking at each day so far:
Friday (today) - ? (I have a feeling this one's going to be Kingdom: New Lands)
Saturday (11/03) - ?
Monday - Bit City
Tuesday - Golf Zero
Wednesday - ?
Thursday - Cosmic Express
Friday - ?
Saturday (18/03) - Typeshift
Monday - ?

That's a nice line-up of games.

And still left to be in there somewhere:
Card Thief
Death Road to Canada

Armello could also show up, been a long time since it was announced for mobile.

Yeah but it hasn't been featured yet and it's on the tweets featuring the event on Twitter.

I thought it was weird too that it wasn't featured yesterday.
So it will be probably proper featured next week.

BTW, in case it wasn't clear, I highly recommend the game (Kingdom: New Lands).
If anyone wants to ask questions, I'll be happy to answer without any spoilers (the game is best experienced going in blind because finding how the world works and reacts to your action is part of the fun).

I criticized my beloved Apple about their gaming stance a lot, but I really love what they are doing right now with my fav devs....it's a big step in the right direction.
Many of the sponsored games are premium too.

But man, I would really like major media outlet picked up the news of this indie week, like they do with humble bundles or steam sales at the very least.

It's depressing, almost like seeing people complaining about the Kingdom New Lands price.

If The Witness is priced 20 dollars, it will be madness :p

Damn I can feel it, I'm gonna be addicted to Football Manager 2017. I have made a mistake, welp.

Oh, and by the way. 1942 Mobile is not a bad port like the Mega Man games. This one controls incredibly well and is a lot of fun. It's the classic with touch control that works. You can change the speed, hud and stuff too. Very well done port. But if you want leaderboards you will need to connect with social media.

How does the base building work in Kingdom? Can you place your stuff anywhere? Is there a crafting system? How does it work? And is exploring just riding around on your horse clicking on gold you find?

Square Enix MOBA "Flame vs Blaze" coming to the West this year.

I'm a bit hesitant spoilering stuff, but no, you don't move stuff.
You can only build or better....improve....existing things (using gold). Exploring and understanding what things do and more important how can you improve things (I don't want to spoil too much) is done moving your horse left and right.

So far, I'm in love but make no mistakes, it's a very hard game.
There is much more than meats the eye....the more you play and the more you die, the more you understand the world and improve, finding the right balance between the various parts.
It's also a very fast game....the pacing is great....things are always moving forward and you have to act very fast.

If for some reason you wanted the PC version of The Witness, looks like it's in the new monthly Humble Bundle which is $12 for one month.

Think that's the cheapest I have seen on any platform.
