It's actually a pretty high-quality cable and comparable properly rated cables aren't that far off online IIRC. But I'm happy to be proven wrong because I'd love to have a cheap second one!

I expect it is because the Nintendo Online Store is for replacement parts so if you get the dock bent, you don't need to get another adapter and HDMI cable you don't necessarily need

Since i needed it for my damn extra neon controllers.
Paid 70 + 30 for them.
Damn i paid 100 bucks for 1 controller.
Tbh there are 2 of em. Oh well.

That board is probably similar in size to this...
The above USB C adapter is $45 and has HDMI, VGA, USB 3.0, and Ethernet for $45 (..and I'm sure it has a big markup for profit too)
Maybe this is why PSVR does have HDMI 2.0a pass through? Shit actually cost a bit more than what people think?

It's just a pass through for the power adapter, there's no argument there.
Doesn't matter at the price point. I think you're overestimating the cost of plugging a power adapter into something (and what it costs for that feature/hardware).
Is the dongle you posted capable passing power through?
