I thought it would be a stupid 90's montage like a fake opening... After weeks of blackout I got spoiled two hours away from launching the game, yay me...

You already know you're playing as the Ryder Twins, and that they're the pathfinder. It's not really a spoiler that it so happens that the previous pathfinder is dead.

Mass Effect fan here, my hype has died out completely.
To me personally, this isn't even cannon anymore. More like a budget fan fiction game.

Who knows, maybe the game itself is incredible. But right now I am just not feeling the character design at all, and the facial animation is straight up a huge down grade compare to ME3, let alone DA:I.

This game was supposed to bring Mass Effect fans back, but seems like they are just not trying hard enough. I seriously can't feel they are putting any effort into this game.

(All I can say is, I hope I was dead wrong and the game did a completely 180 and blows everyone away.)

He's alive at the beginning of the game, he's one of the first characters you meet, there isn't just one pathfinder. It's absolutely a spoiler.

Well the dad has been used extensively in promo material so no it's not necessarily logical to assume that. I figured he had turned rogue, or disappeared or was MIA, and his kids would search for him in the game.

Thanks OP, having the hundredth "let's shit on this game" thread was really worth it.

The quality of animations/dialogue transitions seem to be about par with Mass Effect 2. Which is pretty abysmal, in that it was already janky in that game, and that was over seven years ago.

It's really not though. Not every facial expression, dialogue, voice acting is the same. Mass effect has TONS of characters in it.

I mean Its not in the title its up to the individual to avoid Mass Effect Andromeda threads if they are so careful with spoilers.
