This shit would seriously fit that thread about those Redbox Pixar/Disney ripoffs.
And to think we thought we were overreacting....
Wait... hold on.
This has to be live action, right?
If this is CGI I'm dead. How the fuck are people on the page you posted this saying this looks bad? WTF? That would be some of the greatest CGI I've ever seen. Am I being trolled?

Is this GIF slowed down?
Why does it take her twenty minutes to grab the person's gun? She could have been shot half a dozen times.
Did EA outsource this to some inexperienced company or something? I mean, the incompetency of the animation and character modelling here is just astounding.
Yes it is slowed down, but even played at full speed it's so absurd. Is this GIF slowed down?

That's the worst CG I've ever seen.
There is no end to it.
they outsourced it to Bioware Montreal lol
This is hilariousMass Effect: Andromeda |OT| I'm not a human after all
This is hilarious
You know I wasn't gonna buy this game, but I absolutely love these awful animations. And I think Sara is kind of cute because of her dorkiness. I might buy this game now lol.
Why do those human models look so bad? wth
I have too agree lol, might end up getting it.You know I wasn't gonna buy this game, but I absolutely love these awful animations. And I think Sara is kind of cute because of her dorkiness. I might buy this game now lol.
the animator just had to make her blink at least once in that scene and it would have been semi okay.
Fuuuu~~ theres a blast from the pastShe's trying this tactic I guess:
Doesn't work on Krogan ;P
Saw this on Twitter. No chill.

Nailed it.
I just want to know where it all went wrong? Dragon Age Inquisition had decent and believable facial and motion animations. ME:A feels completely out of place and broken. Did they run out of time and just sent whatever they had a few weeks before release? I am a big Mass Effect fan, and I was really looking forward to this. I have a pre-order on Amazon and I have never pre-ordered a game in a while. I think at this point I might just cancel and see what happens. What do you think guys?
Remember the E3 2006 demo? When they said stuff like "Mass Effect sets the bar for next generation digital characters". That demo was impressive as hell back then. Now they have stuff that's almost Oblivion level bad. Amazing.
Idk about that, I think next to the eyes darting all over the place the blinking is one of the biggest things that throws me off. People blink differently when they're consciously doing it and I feel like every character has that look in this.the animator just had to make her blink at least once in that scene and it would have been semi okay.
Miles ahead.
New developer. As far as I know this is the first full game developed by Bioware Montreal. Previous games were developed by original Bioware in Edmonton.

Still doesn't make sense to me though. How does one of EA and Bioware's biggest games get released in this state? not just the buggy parts either. All of the footage I've seen the faces lookfucked up
The weirdest thing about the faces is the total lack of eye reflection. Even the original trilogy on PS360 got this right; the animation in the old games looks relatively robotic by today's standards, but the eyes still have life in them.
Every single human in Andromeda has these weirdly overdefined eyes with zero lighting interacting with them. You can see everyone's irises and pupils in excruciating detail in a way you just do not see in real life, as if they're wooden orbs with details painted on. Adding better specular effects to the eyes would on its own be a massive improvement for this game, even if the animations stayed just as stiff. It's just so off-putting being able to see everyone's eyes like this.
EDIT:
This gif going around illustrates this perfectly. Just like how the relative darkness in Ashley's scene on the right sort of hides the distinction between iris and pupil, the bright lighting in the scene on the left should be blowing out some of the detail. The eyes should have shine.
.I quickly/horribly shoved Aloy's larger iris/smaller pupil eyes over the existing pale irises and wandering pupils:
Less wired/more human.
There was always something weird about this project, the marketing was so reserved that it seemed like they were afraid to show anything from the game. Now we know why.
Going to be interesting to see how much damage this does to the IP and Bioware's reputation. Mass Effect is (was?) at titan of a franchise.
