What's the best Weird Al song and why is it It's All About the Pentiums?

The Technomancer

card-carrying scientician
Every time I ask myself this question I come back to this track. It's just firing on all cylinders.

That video

The density of good shit in the lyrics

I'm down with Bill Gates, I call him "Money" for short
I phone him up at home and I make him do my tech support

You've gotta be the dumbest newbie I've ever seen
You've got white-out all over your screen
You think your Commodore 64 is really neato
What kinda chip you got in there, a Dorito?

Your database is a disaster
You're waxin' your modem, tryin' to make it go faster
Hey fella, I bet you're still livin' in your parents' cellar
Downloadin' pictures of Sarah Michelle Gellar
And postin' "Me too!" like some brain-dead AOL-er
I should do the world a favor and cap you like Old Yeller
You're just about as useless as jpegs to Hellen Keller

Got a flat-screen monitor forty inches wide wide
I believe that your says "Etch-A-Sketch" on the side
In a 32-bit world, you're a 2-bit user
You've got your own newsgroup, "alt.total-loser"

What a pitch perfect snapshot of a certain part of the 90s the whole thing is

It's kind of amazing how the song encapsulates 90's computing but all of the references still make sense to the modern audience.

Running with Scissors was, IMO, his best album.

ZealousD

Makes world leading predictions like "The sun will rise tomorrow"
Amish Paradise - Best parody
Dare to Be Stupid - Best imitation

White & Nerdy or The Saga Begins. The Saga Begins is also technically impressive as it was mostly written from internet spoilers before the movie came out.

His new stuff is good though, loved Word Crimes and Foil especially. Also, the Conan "Tacky" video was better then the official one lol

You guys ever listen to The Night Santa Went Crazy?

I just gave it a listen this past Christmas season and man, that song is DARK. Funny, but damn dark.

I just watched the White and Nerdy video and realized that it's Key and Peele in the beginning wtf.

He does really well with all his songs.

I cant pick a favorite.

Same here. Right now it's Word Crimes.

I pre ordered the Squeeze Box set and I already own all his albums anyway.

Best concerts I have ever been to.

It's actually edited because it went too far.

Weird Al is national treasure.

He has a song parodying Lola called Yoda that is especially prophetic given the resurgence of the Star Wars franchise.

He also cameod on an episode of Thirty Rock where he sung a parody of the theme song at the end of the episode

Yeah, I think the original version has Santa getting brutally gunned down and he then edited to him being captured and sentenced for life. (Or "700 years" If you like to think Santa as an immortal)

There are a lot of songs I like. One that hasn't been mentioned I really like is Confessions. Also Fat.

I think you know a song is good when 10 years later, you accidentally sing his lyrics instead of the lyrics to the original song.

Got to see him in concert this past year which was awesome. I'd have to put It's All About the Pentiums at the top of my list as well. I also really dig Dare to be Stupid (thanks to my love of Transformers The Movie).

I just watched White and Nerdy and while I remembered Seth Green and Donnie Osmond being in it I was shocked to realize that the two guys in the car in the beginning are Key and Peele.

Ricky:

Oh Ricky what a pity
Don't you understand

That everyday's a rerun
And the laughter's always canned

Yoda:

"I know Darth Vader's really got you annoyed
But remember, if you kill him, then you'll be unemployed"
Oh, my Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda

Well, I heard my friends really got in a mess
So I'm gonna have to leave Yoda, I guess
But I know that I'll be coming back some day
I'll be playing this part 'till I'm old and grey

The long-term contract that I had to sign
Says I'll be making these movies till the end of time
With my Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda

These are perfect lyrics.

Yeah it's Amish Paradise. Just the concept of juxtaposing Coolio and the Amish is already brilliant, and then the execution is perfect.
