So, is the best case for Trump is that he has no direct involvement, just the Russians supported him knowing he was a horrible choice?

Carter Page is almost certainly guilty, so the best case is probably getting him to take the fall and Trump continuing to pretend he doesn't know who Carter Page is

It's hard for me to see an ending here where Michael Flynn is not either admitting wrongdoing or getting indicted. Based on Spicer's marching orders this morning, Manafort is clearly also in the line of fire.

Nunes is going to start responding to press inquiries with "new phone, who dis?"

Roger Stone is like the Bye Bye Man, if you say his name, he comes for you. Nunes knows this.

Once it is known that the campaign had ties to Russia and conducted illegal activities. The Republicans will focus on the officials that had ties to Russia. However, if the investigation goes deeper beyond that than Trump could get caught since he himself directed them and allowed them to go ahead to work with the Russians. He just used his people as middlemen.

With some many high level being involved there is no way that Trump wouldn't have known.

"Are you investigating Trump personally?"
"I can't comment on that."

Not sure what you wanted if that didn't do it for you.

I'm encouraged by Comey's testimony. He's stonewalling, and he's taking it seriously. He seems very wary of some of the Republicans, especially Nunes. And it Trump fires Comey, he gets dumpstered.

Still too early to say, but it's encouraging. Cautious optimism. In a decade we might look back on Comey as a hero.

Him and the GOP will have to deal with the next year or so of constantly dreading when the next bit of information from this case will be released. Never knowing when it's going to happen.

A nightmare scenario for them would be arrests starting in mid/late October 2018. Right now a lot of them are probably not sweating because they know they control everything and can protect each other. When that protection is gone and impeachments for various people are on the table with majority Democrats in all offices, the real fun will start.

Exactly.

This is going to take time. Today was proof a connection exists and that things are moving. I truly believe there is no political timing here--just the IC needing time to solidify a case.

Who is she and what did she say?

Recent darling of the right that has spent the last couple years going on long-winded rants against liberal "snowflakes". You've probably seen one of them on Facebook. She's been a rising star in conservative circles. Most of her videos have some variation of this as the thumbnail:

But, last week she went on the View and said not only was she Pro-Choice, but said it would be hypocritical to be in favor of small government but have the government decide what a woman can do with her body. Naturally this has caused a huge reaction among the right, especially since abortion is pretty much the one issue all conservatives, from moderates to the alt-right, will agree on

What did the president know and when did he know it?

You can't tell me if Stone page or manafort had information regarding leaks ahead of time they didn't tell Trump. Maybe manafort would have been smart enough not to say anything. The others?...

This should all be couched in the fact that not 3 months ago she called women who had abortions murderers. So principled stance, nah? A Glenn Beck style opportunist who flips to their image depending on where the wind blows, yeah probably.

I'm expecting no more than for Trump to pull off a Bridgegate type dodge, where his cronies go down but he keeps kicking. Explains why Trump keeps Christie around.

I'm open to being pleasantly surprised though.

But that would be fine as far as I'm concerned. It still leads to crushing GOP losses and the embarrassment of the Trump administration for the rest of history.

Where are the free speech warriors to defend Tammy.

Glenn Beck on Tammy

“Bomb throwing is — bomb throwing in today’s world is dangerous. Freedom of speech, it’s not free. Speech isn’t free. It comes with a very high price tag. First, being intellectually honest and intellectually curious. Speech is not free. It comes with another cost and usually to the other people at the other end of your argument. The pen is mightier than the sword, and it can destroy people if your aim is clicks, views, and ratings,” he continued.

Glenn Beck on the Milo protest

And the press was quiet and complicit. They don’t believe in freedom of speech. They believe in the freedom of speech that they like. The First Amendment is worthless, unless you stand by the speech that you despise. No university in this country is worth their salt, unless they can say, “Yes, Milo can show up. Milo can speak.”

I'm shocked they won't just find an Ollie North to go down for everything to end the investigation. The game doesn't end until somebody goes down hard, so get some patsy to take a dive.

Hypothetical question, lets say just for the sake of argument that there is irrefutable evidence that Trump and Putin worked together and that it becomes public, Trump gets impeached and arrested, would the democrats be able to remove his SCOTUS pick?

It goes for everything, but there's no way to just call a mulligan and undo everything he did while in office.

On mobile but I just saw on Twitter Bennet doesn't want to filibuster Gorsuch because "two wrongs don't make a right." I remember Carper saying similar statements, are there any other Democrats who think we shouldn't filibuster?

Fuck David Clark.

In July 2016, a newborn baby died at the Milwaukee County Jail after the mother was forced to give birth on her cell floor. Now, three months after Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke’s Office was sued over the baby’s death, the controversial law enforcement leader is being sued for additional jail abuse of pregnant women.

According to a federal lawsuit filed on March 14, plaintiff Melissa Hall was shackled before, during, and after childbirth at a local hospital in 2013. A “belly chain” was allegedly wrapped around her waist when she needed to use the restroom, and she had “her wrists attached to the waist and her legs attached to one another by leg-irons.” Hall claims the jail deputies also denied medical providers’ request to take the chains off her during childbirth, which made it difficult for those providers to give her an epidural.

I don't think it makes any difference. Filibuster and nuclear option won't hurt or benefit anyone either since it is too far from any elections and attention spans are short

This would make me rage. We need to be unified in our opposition that Trump gets to nominate anyone until he's no longer under investigation
