Do it. I love massive write ups.

Only problem; I want to talk about general spoilers but it won't really be about said spoilers. I'll mainly be stuff like dungeon names, cool moments and more so I think a simple warning at the top of the post should do.

"I can't hear that story from grandpa anymore *sniff*"

;_;

Seemingly everyday, one of the kids in Kakariko village
goes the graves in the back to cry by herself because she doesn't want to upset her dad by letting him know that she knows her mom is dead instead of just somewhere else.

I discovered that by accident and it broke my heart. I only did the first "food" quest with her earlier which seemed super cute and innocent. Running into her in the graveyard totally put it in another context. It gets deeper when you finish all of her food quests as well as when you find out how the mom died. The younger daughter can be found near the shrine on the hill every morning looking for her mom.

Cried buckets yo

Whaaa? I'll have to go investigate this. This stuff always gets me.

I have a question regarding the
home owner
quest line.

I bought the house and a a few pieces of furniture etc. but then I completed the Taburasa quest line. Now the home designer is nowhere to be seen anymore in Hateno. Where can I find him?

Hmm... as long as it's daytime they should be chilling in front by the fire place. They go to sleep at night though.

Taburasa? or whatever the name of the new town thing

About 70 hours into the game. I can confirm that Breath of the Wild is my favorite game of all time surpassing Ocarina of Time, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Skies of Arcadia, Mario 64, and Majora's Mask.

This is definitely the best open world game I have ever played.

Definitely agree with you there and also for me personally it surpassed Ocarina of Time and Bloodborne. At the moment I'd rank Breath of the Wild my #3 favorite game of all time but I also still haven't finished it.

Hello and welcome to the adventure!
So far here what other people did beside cooking to do that snow part in the tutorial area

1) do the old man cooking quest to get warm cloth
2) use a torch to keep them warm
3) Eat peppers without cooking them (cooking was such a struggle for many people, lol)

And yes, this game is not about just going to point A to B especially if you want to uncover some secrets/quests, you will have to pay attention to npcs and stuff you read (that's why I will never understand the rant about fetch quests, they're overrated compared to korok seeds puzzles, lol)

Super fuckin neat those options. I almost went with the torch myself but I couldn't get it across the water (before I decided to go around) and I was worried it would break.

How do you do the
old man quest for the cloth?
I talked to him jear his house but he only taught me about cutting down trees.

Yeah, at this point, if someone wanders into a BOTW thread (especially this one) and goes off because they see a dungeon or town name, maybe they need to just play the damn game and avoid online forums for a while. :) I got several things "spoiled" before I got to them, but it didn't diminish their impact since they were of such high quality, and the context surrounding them also made a huge difference. Even clicking on spoilered comments and seeing stuff I haven't yet experienced doesn't really matter since odds are I won't remember specifically what I read by the time I reach them.

He stays in Tarry Town (I assume this is Taburasa for you?) after the wedding until you talk to him again.

Yeah I think the biggest flaw in the game so far (by a huge margin in my opinion). 20 hours in, was the lack of a proper cooking tutorial. Maybe I missed it?

The other kid always references that his mom is playing hide and seek and he'll find her eventually. You can play games with him to pass the time. He's the brother of the kid who visits the graves.

The game makes me enjoy visiting the towns and villages. They did a great job with the characters.

The
Firefly
quest in Kakariko was nice too. Such simple things to bring people joy.

I don't think there is ever one that outright tells you what to do via the menu like the ones for parrying or gliding but there are a few NPCs that explain it. There's a hut with a diary in the Great Plateau that tasks you with cooking cold resist food but you can completely miss it.

That said, there's not much to cooking. It's fairly free form and based on what the ingredients say outside of a few strict recipes.

Yeah, that's not the case after the
wedding
.

Thanks. I'll go look for him. The mission marker was set to
Hateno
so I was confused.

So there's a fairly common feature of three trees all in a perfect line, all alone. Is that a Korok seed puzzle that I just haven't figured out? I swear I've seen this like ten times.

Is Pika go in any other village than Kakoriko?

I just traveled to every single stable I've found and still have two more pictures to go. I found three more stables along the way but no sign of the dude.

Knocked 10 pictures out like it was nothing and now I'm clueless.

I don't think he has hints for all of them. One of the pictures is in Hyrule Castle, he doesn't hint for that one.

Correct. Pay attention to what's on the trees.

Then make them match.

Went into
Hyrule Castle
to
grab the royal weapons and recipes
and it looks like it's just as big as disappointment as the shrines and dungeons. Looks like you can't even cut loose with the damn
Master Sword
in there and all the secret stuff can be picked up one straightforward path. Hopefully I'm wrong and when I go back and it's actually got something interesting to do in there.

Just finished the main story and beat Ganon. The final battle was hilariously clumsy on my part, and I managed to run out of meals so Link had to eat a ton of apples throughout the fight. Incredible game overall and my favourite since Bloodborne. Definitely the best open world I've experienced. I didn't really touch most of the sidequests (despite exploring a lot) so I'll definitely go back to BotW in the future.

Played close to 25hrs, done zero story missions after completing the great plateau, but now I've decided to progress and finally made it to
Kakariko Village

I also just found out about the parry thing you do where you hold down the shoulder button to bring up your shield, then hit A...... I was like woah!

I was just exploring, doing shrines, collected stuff etc.

I only just talked to impa about memories, and I have almost 50 korok seeds. I can't find Hetsu either.

I can play for, at maximum, an hour a day.

I'm never going to finish this game.

Help.

Parry is a guardian killer.

Owning Guardians with
the Master Sword
feels soo gooooood. I still practice parrying and stuff; just a different type of awesome feeling.

Anyone offer any advice on what I should do next, I'm not sure where to go?

so basically I've found my first memory and reported back to kakariko village. Now my main quests are just to find all memories and to kill all 4 guardians. I found a man in hateno village you mentioned gerudo and some other place, am I supposed to go there next?

There's no "supposed" to at this point. World is your oyster. Good early dungeons are Zora and Rito. Hit the road, follow your muse.

Huh I never found the tip for the Hyrule memory. Also... I have 111 Shrines, nearly 300 Korok seeds, and almost all gear fully upgraded; and I only JUST wandered into the
Hawaiian-
feeling village. Dunno how I let this happen lol what a stupid-huge game.

Correct. Pay attention to what's on the trees.

Then make them match.

Oh shit. Thanks.

I'd just pick a direction and go; you'll stumble into one of the dungeons eventually and it'll be fun. Or you can go to the menu and activate the story quest pings.

If you want suggestions:

Go East for a skill that will help you
live longer.
Go West for a skill that will help you
traverse the terrain easier/faster.

Can I make a seperate save file on the same account? I wanna try some special runs when I beat the game (only 4 shrines, all beasts, no beasts, speed run, etc) but I dont want to lose my current main playthrough.

That accordion-playing Rito guy is one of my favorite additions to the game. He's got a cool design and it's just a great idea to encounter this traveling bard all over the place who introduce you to puzzles through old songs rather than, like, a stone tablet or something. I always get hyped when I hear that song.

Is there a way to rewatch the memories?
In the photograph album, I think.

This is not a tutorial-based Zelda. Test stuff. Talk to NPCs. Look around for spots that mentions dishes or potions. Analyze the stuff you get from NPCs.
