You mean King of Wushu right? That was supposed to get a western console release, Xbox too i think, and crossplay was also mentioned iirc, but its been like 2 years since we've heard about it. I'm still waiting for it.
Yeah there was a montage about 2 years ago of Chinese Xbox games and nothing ever came from it/ western releases

Nice little initiative, Sony should open development studio in China, lots of talent there.

Actually, alot of games you played by 3rd parties were already developed by the Chinese....Ubisoft, EA and Activision all have studios in China doing backend development. I mean...If you finished UC4, you will see tons of Chinese names in the credits as contractors.

That why they should open new studio in China. I would love AAA titles with Chinese mythology.
Maybe they scare of Chinese policy.

I'm a Chinese Singaporean and will love a game like DMC or Onimusha but in a wuxia settings too....

But yah..At this stage, who isn't afraid of the Chinese censorship?

(P.s. Singapore is NOT part of china :p )

I'm Malaysian, you don't have to explain Singapore to me, lol.
Still remember this gem by SCE, one and only Chinese game by Sony.

I'm very happy somebody is giving Chinese developers the means to be creative and the opportunity to bring their work to a wider audience. Unfortunately I don't believe those games will find enough success on the mainland, but it's a good start for the time when console gaming won't be hindered by neither censorship nor home consols being so uncommon in China.

These all look great. Seems like there's a bunch of talent in China so here's hoping these projects find success.

YES! High quality AAA Wuxia games! Please Sony! :D

Damn, I am getting excited thinking about this. I love how Sony is supporting a wide variety of games worldwide, and not just Western shooters. :)

Does anyone know what the guy means when he refers to an "ACT game"? I remember seeing that in the marketing for other chinese games and am real curious as to what it means. Unless it just stands for "Action"..?

Either way, that was some super cool stuff. Great to see it getting some exposure.

Will we see those games get released in North America? I'd buy half of them right now. Most games in there look amazing!!

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch

I bet my soul and firstborn that lost souls aside will be released worldwide...

In fact, most of these games should be release worldwide as they seems pretty 'international'.

From the official site:
Sony Interactive Entertainment (Shanghai) said:
China Hero Project (Chinese Star Program) is a program based on PlayStation platform, which strongly support Chinese funded game developers (mainly start-ups) to enter the whole Chinese and global market, committing to" create a successful game works (=star) worldwide" and "cultivation and development of Chinese game industry". The project is supported by partners such as Epic Games, Inc., CRI Middleware, Hearts United Group, Silicon Studio, Unity Technologies (Shanghai) Limited, who look to further increase on Chinese console game market, and provide development techniques of game engine, middleware etc. and debug services in order to improve the quality of game for Chinese game developers. In addition, Whiz Partners provides support from game development to the whole process of sales in terms of business management, techniques and financial support. A key point of view for the program's target enterprise and team is that the project and team should not only be applicable to development in Chinese market, but also in global market.

Wow, some of these look pretty cool. Obviously many of them are early in the process but so far they look promising.

Pretty cool initiative. Not only gaming, but game design is also universal.

A few of those look rather interesting.

Very much interested in what China has to offer.

The last 'chinese' games that I've played is The Return of the Condor Heroes on PC, I think it was made in hong kong. Can't remember anything about it now.

Lost Soul Aside aside, the mecha, swordsman, and zero gravity games look dope.

Bing fucking Yang, boii!
Also holy shit at Project X and some of the other stuff they showed. I have a feeling this is going to pay dividends for them in the future. Investments in actual talent and studios like these. Just damn, some great stuff shown.
