It won't change many things.
It's been number one on the eShop for a month now plus there was a demo which often correlates with an increase in sales. Do I expect upwards of 100,000? No. Would I be surprised if eShop sales are upwards of 50,000? Absolutely not.

I don't know if what was shown in the teaser was indicative of the quality of the graphics of GE3. But I didn't think they looked too complex for the Vita to handle.

I don't really see that being indicative of in-game graphics. Reminds me of the Panopticon trailer from whenever that was (ended up being Freedom Wars), that people saying couldn't be for Vita because just look at it.

I'm thinking PS4/Vita and Switch at the moment for God Eater. May be miles off the mark but still.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
I am unsure why the attempt at sarcasm here when we know Sony.. ahem...

That the ball's been in Sony's court for a while with certain games. :p

Well, Dragon Quest X is coming to both PS4 and Switch, so I guess that's an instance where they had no problem in sharing the online infrastructure with Nintendo platforms.

I expect PS4 (and ofc PC for the west) alongside a PSV version for vanilla. Burst version will also be the same. They are going to stick with Vita for as long as they can just like they stuck with PSP.

I don't expect them to bother with NSW just like they didn't bother with 3DS.

60 out of 90 locations are exactly the same as the original game, so it wouldn't make much since not to do it for Vita since they will be heavily reusing the assets and engine. Next Digimon game will be the one to watch.

And what do you think they did with 4 games in the God Eater IP on consoles so far?
Whether God Eater 3 break this trend or not is also a big question.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
If GE3 isnt Switch/PS4 the market deserves to crash....lol.
Unless its out in like 2-3 months or pushes PS4 hardware to the limit - but even then they should really embrace multiplattform development if possible.

Edit:

Then again.... if MH is still Nintendo exclusive - they probably wont bother.

Yup, people expecting a Switch version are just setting themselves up for disappointment.

I'm looking forward to see the Xbox One/Switch cross play titles.

Let's begin with easy mode : PC/Switch cross-play titles would be a good start.

About God Eater, I just checked SteamSpy and God Eater 2 shows a more than decent 142,648 owners with very positives users reviews. Not bad at all.

I think it depends on whether that rumour from WSJ is true that they are doubling production. Doubling the stock from April going forward would do a great deal in diminshing sellout, so if true I think it will not be massively supply constrained for very long.

Of course they are doubling production(they should have from the start, the WiiU made them extremely cautious I guess), even with this it's only 1,33m switch globally per month, meaning roughly 330k per week, globally. The Switch will remain pretty hard to get for the next few month, even with this increase in production...

Perhaps Nintendo should've launched the switch 2 months later in the west, the incredible demand in japan would surely have been enough for them to sell 3m straight within one month.

If there's an opportunity for Bandai-Namco to release GE3 on the Switch and beat MH to the punch they should do it. I'm guessing a lot of Nintendo fans have never explored the GE series, and this an open chance for the franchise to grab a piece of the audience before MH consumes all attention.

Monster Hunter XX first week shipment was of 1.250.000 units, for Senran Kagura it was 64.000 units, both with 80% sell through.

They note that sell through for X was of 95%, with that shipment its unlikely XX will get a second shipment this week, and even then a shipment right before the end of the FY will be below 200k.

PSV retail sales should be surpassing 22 million by the end of the month too, by the time Mario Kart is out is likely that Switch's software sales should be on par or even above Vita's for 2017.

I expect PS4 (and ofc PC for the west) alongside a PSV version for vanilla. Burst version will also be the same. They are going to stick with Vita for as long as they can just like they stuck with PSP.

I don't expect them to bother with NSW just like they didn't bother with 3DS.

Things aren't very complicated. If hardware sells software eventually will come even if plans were very different in the beginning. It happened with DS after taking off, it happened with PSP after Monster Hunter and would happen with Wii if there wasn't PSP revival (if Iwata is to be believed). Even Vita saw some kind of support at specific genres. It won't be different with Switch if it has similar sales and there isn't alternative from Sony at handheld gaming this time. You won't see the support PS4 gets but it won't be what it looks like now.

Persona Q was the canonical (yes) bridge between P3 and P4. They can't really do a sequel, since they'll probably focus on Persona 5 spin-offs now. Unless they're doing a PQ only with the P5 cast, which would makes no sense.

If GE3 isnt Switch/PS4 the market deserves to crash....lol.
Unless its out in like 2-3 months or pushes PS4 hardware to the limit - but even then they should really embrace multiplattform development if possible.

Funny how when something is Nintendo exclusive, multiplatform is bad for business and publishers should not lose focus, but when something is not on Nintendo platforms yet, multiplatform is so important that the market deserves to crash otherwise.

Hahahahahahahahahaha!

Heh, now that I look back at that Atlus Survey...

Q12: For dedicated consoles, choose what applies for the following games.

31 possible answers, with 3 different options for each: “I don’t know this,” “I know this but I have not bought it,” and “I have purchased this.” The games include:

Final Fantasy XV
Yakuza 6
Caligula
Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony
Persona 5
Persona 4 Golden
Persona 4: Dancing All Night
Persona 4 Arena
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax
Radiant Historia
Valkyria Revolution

I wonder if it had any bearing on the decision to port it on 3DS.

Looking at the survey again (since we're going to have some announcements this sunday), I see that they asked people what they thought of the Strange Journey remake on DS (just next to the same question but with recent releases, like Persona 5, Etrian Odyssey V...). I wonder if the 3DS SMT Project will be another Strange Journey remake, or maybe a compilation with Nocturne ?

Also, someone asked if they mentionned Persona 5 on Switch, here's the full list of what was in the survey, concerning Persona.

Q53: Please select all that applies for proposed Persona series titles below.

The games are the following:

“Persona 2: Innocent Sin / Eternal Punishment” HD console remake
Completely new “Persona 6”
“Persona 5” dance game (sound action)
New Persona fighting game for “Persona 5” [Kazuhisa Wada previously stated that he would definitely want to make a Persona 5 fighting game]
“Persona 3” HD console remake
“Persona 1” HD console remake
“Persona” series board game
“Persona” series online game
“Persona” series shooting game
“Persona 5” with added scenarios and new elements
Continuation of “Persona Q” and remake to other platforms
“Persona 3” dance game (sound action) [Kazuhisa Wada previously stated that they would consider a Persona 3 dancing game if Persona 4: Dancing All Night did well]

For each possibility, you could choose whether you want to play it on PS4, Switch, Vita, PSVR or mobile.

PS4/Switch is the best solution to strengthen the traditional console market in my opinion. This doesnt mean that some key titles cant or wont be exclusive because of some background/marketing deals. In general they should target these platforms if it possible.

There isnt a reason for SMT to be Switch exclusive if its running on UE4 - so its expected to be on PS4 and potential other systems as well. DQ XI Switch might be based on that same UE4 PS4 version.

Also what 3rdParty IPs on Nintendo plattforms are you referring to that wouldnt benefit from multiplatform development ? WiiU didnt have any support, the games were on 3DS. Multiplattform between 3DS and a system like the PS4 wasnt going to happen. In addition to the 3DS having the type installed base that can justify exclusive titles for the local market.

So yeah i have no idea what you are talking about...lol.

No, there's definitely people who do what Duckroll is talking about but it's also definitely going to be a moot point in about a year when the two or three relevant Nintendo-exclusive franchises have gone multiplatform.

Honestly I'd be kind of surprised if we got a Switch announcement prior to E3 for things that aren't already announced.

Japan is sloooooooow with new platforms.

Easily the most risk averse publishers on earth.

Regulars in MC threads ? I dont know about that...Monster Hunter is the only IP that comes in my mind and thats a special case.

Either way my main point is that they should embrace multiplatform development for their main systems....it worked for western publishers and they have been doing this since the PS2 era.
