I don't remember when this attack Nolan thing happened..when did that start?

It's mostly miles who I think is trying and succeeding in triggering the nolan fans with this stuff

See, here we have Nolan does some shit vs a good, competent director who knows how to frame a scene and give it a level of ferocity and viciousness that leaps off the screen and touches in ways you never thought possible.

Wait, this thing is coming out this year? I forgot, lol.

Whatever, if the trailer that drops in a couple of days is still all dark and gloomy for no reason, I have no hopes for this.

All these posts showing slow-mo gifs and saying how hype they are is just pathetic. This is the same shit Snyder pulled with MoS and BvS and he's just going to do it again. Snyder has an obsession with clogging his movies with "iconic" scenes and never fleshes out his characters or makes sure we as the audience give a shit.

This video does a great job highlighting Synder's main problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38Cy_Qlh7VM

I know everyone always talks about the warehouse scene but I think this scene is almost as good.

It's one of the few times that Batman has actually felt scary in cinema form. Reeves is a better director and I'm glad he's directing The Batman, but I'd be lying if I said I also wouldn't be pretty interested in seeing a sole Batman film by Snyder.

The start of it was really good an scary, then he did the weird ceiling thing. I still think the docks scene in Batman Begins was more scary when I first saw it.

The Knightmare fight in BvS makes this shit look like The Raid, and I mean that in motion and in the moment in the film, not in 'highlight it with a gratuitous gif' form.

Ha, so true. The nightmare scene was horrendous. The catwomen/Batman fight on the roof was pretty bad at full speed though and the ground battle at the end was terrible. Anyway, Nolan makes better films, Snyder can do a money shot, I know what I would rather watch many times.

Seems kinda like they inverted his suit and logo colors for justice league

Hopefully it changes back again for Matt Reeves Batman movie (hopefully the chosen one that will be the best dc film since TDK. He has it in him to match or even best Nolan with his batman work if they leave him to his own devices)

Knightmare scene was a single shot

That alone makes it far more impressive than that GIF which took 4 cuts for the entire scene

The fact that it's a single shot is exactly what makes it awful, especially given that the other Batman fight did show how incredibly effective they could be at depicting this Batman's fighting style. When you can only do something poorly, it's generally better to not do it at all.

It's like putting a musical number in your movie because you want to show the range of your lead, without taking into account the fact that your lead isn't very good at singing or dancing.

This marketing campaign is kinda making the case you never needed Man of Steel or Batman v Superman.

They coulda just started with a Justice League movie.

Yep. Batman v Superman was a flawed idea from inception, and lacked emotional impact because it's more meaningful if they actually had a relationship before a falling out.

That vehicle CGI looks way too rough. If Wonder Woman doesn't pan out fine, I think I'll start skipping DC movies.

Absolutely. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is up there with The Dark Knight as one of the best blockbusters of the past decade.

I enjoy 300 and love Watchmen but FOH with calling Snyder better than Nolan in any capacity other than action and maybe visuals, lol.

Agree with every word of this.

Snyder is fantastic at visuals, IMO. And he's made a couple of good/decent movies. But as a whole, he's nowhere near Nolan as a director.

What has me optimistic is the possibility that JL will be light on story, meaning it'll mostly just be a special effects light show, which is Snyder's forte.

Snyder wins with fight scenes but Nolan's batmobile/batpod sequences trounce anything Snyder's attempted in that regard. The batmobile stuff in BvS was weak, lacked imagination.

I'll never forget the car chase in BB where the Tumbler boosted off of rooftops for the first time, or how the batpod launched itself from the guts of the wrecked Tumbler in TDK and then moments later flipped over Joker's truck. So good.

I hope for the best in Justice League but cgi batmobile shooting cgi parademons makes me anxious.

That flash dash looked pretty fucking cool.

I think snyder might be the one to top that dofp quicksilver sequence. We'll see. Definitely looks like he could make flash look appropriately kinetic
