As a 4K PC owner, I'm still waiting on a lot of apps to support high DPI scaling.

I can't even imagine how bad 8K must be like.

Is there any rich people on here who need somebody to mow their lawn and clean their house?

Anyone..?

Hopefully in another universe I'm somebody who can afford that monitor.

8k would be great if the monitor was like 60". But why do you need it at 32"?

the surface studio monitor is 30" but its only 4500x3000 and its already sharp as fuck.

8K over DisplayPort 1.4 uses "visually lossless" compression to squeeze the data through a single cable. Do we have any idea what that processing adds to latency?

Even if the monitor was remotely affordable, I imagine that alone would make it terrible for gaming.

Right now it would take like 2 1080tis to have remotely playable fps on today's games at 8k.

This monitor would be good for everything else though.

Doesn't matter for screenshotting.

Advances in technology aren't just going to stop because you're satisfied. 4K screens will come to smart phones with 5" screens and you'll like it damn it.

Yeah like playing yesterday's games. Its like going back to your old library of games with a new computer

The Dell S2718D (also coming out today) looks pretty interesting to me. My Korean 1440p display has become very unreliable, but the size and resolution is pretty much the sweet spot for me atm.

They already did and it's pointless. I can't even see the pixels on my 1080p OnePlus 3. I'd rather not waste battery on something completely useless most of the time.

I remember when people said the same about 720p. Glad we never listen to those people.

I don't mean to alarm you but you have dogs on your face
Can't wait for my 32k smartwatch. You luddites can keep your crappy 4k screens.

8K for only 32 inch? Yeesh.

Yeah, 8K at 40" would be a pretty perfect Retina display. This is a bit outrageous if you only run at 2x
It's a great DPI/size balance for people who work with print and stuff. Editing 4K video with lots of screen estate to spare is great too.

Not everything is for content consumption, guys. Especially the Ultrasharp line which is mostly professional oriented with only a few models that are consumer-friendly.

A rig capable of hitting 4K60 would get 15 FPS on this, lol. Could be good for graphic design I guess.

If you're gonna have that many pixels, at least make it 21:9. 8K for that size and aspect ratio seems like a waste.

Can you really tell a difference between 4K an 8K on a 32" monitor? Does your eye have to be 2 inches away to tell this difference?

I wonder if I could tell the difference.

I was looking at my iPhone 7's screen the other day and I realized that, for the first time ever, I could not make out any pixels.
