What's everyone playing first? I'm doing KH2 then BBS. Not sure if I'll play the rest honestly.

KH1. Thinking of just playing through and maybe skipping cutscenes this time.

I just really want to get to my 2FM run, but I can't allow myself to play it if I don't revisit 1 fist.

I'm skipping Re:CoM... just, I can't ever again.

Okay guys, going to go ahead and ask this: Is there a certain way I (or any newcomers) should play the games?

I remember people saying that 1 & 2 at least should be played on a certain difficulty? Can't really remember specifics, but I remember there being a big debate about it in one of the threads.

Release order, always.

Therefore:
KH1FM
KH ReCOM
KH2FM
KH 358/2 Days
KH BBS
KH Re:Coded

Then with 2.8:
KHDDD
KH X
KH 0.2

Oh course only now I finally remember the name I wanted to suggest for the OT that I thought of weeks ago.

"Ported Again. Salty? No... Sweet!"

I don't know if I want to play KH1 Final Mix again. I did practically everything in that game thinking that it was only going to be released on the PS3 or if it was going to be on PS4, the save files and trophies would be shared like some other games. But now that I know it's not, I don't see a desire to go over all that again.

Chain of Memories though, that will be a struggle for me. I would ask Inuhanyou for help like he offered but I guess he's banned? Argh, the darn card system.

really nice OT

hope SE drops some patches for this. KH2FM in 4K/60fps sounds godly so it's a shame that port seems to have the most issues

Man can't wait to replay these and play BBS for the first time. I figure at most I'll get through a decent chunk of KH1 before Persona 5 consumes a couple weeks of my life before circling back to this. Hopefully by the time I get around to KH2 some of the more pressing issues will be fixed.

In case anyone else asks:

Kingdom Hearts 1
Chain of Memories
Kingdom Hearts 2
358/2
Birth By Sleep
Re:Coded
Dream Drop Distance

Bizkit is play 2FM English v.1.0 right now (not 1.02)

He just played the scene of Beast's Castle linked in the OP and there was no stuttering. There also hasn't been any stuttering on opening chests (though he's about to test more chest opens it seems). He is playing on PS4 Pro however, where as KingdomHops played on a OG PS4 apparently.

Yeah, he still hasn't had a single stutter supposedly. We don't know yet if it's because of Pro or not patching. Pro is my guess.

I'm excited to finally jump into this series properly. I need to catch up on some Disney movies first, and I'm hoping the games have their issues patched by then. It seems like these versions are the way to go regardless though.

Is it worthwhile to grab the original DS or 3DS versions of some of the games/movies in these packages or should I just go with what's in the PS4 releases (including 2.8)?

No review thread, so I'll drop my review here.

But the games are what matter. In this complete package of technical excellence, Kingdom Hearts is well-represented. The series’ core installments have never played or looked better, nor been packaged together quite like this. One outlier—the excellent II.8 Final Chapter Prologue—is needed to complete the picture, but HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX is far from a mere primer. It’s a robust collection that’s great for fans and newcomers alike and the single best way to experience Kingdom Hearts—landmark moments, wrong turns, and the sincere magic which started it all.

Just go with the PS4 releases. 358/2 and Re:Coded are usually considered the worst Kingdom Hearts games and are probably the least consequential to the plot with a few exceptions to certain plot points, that you can either watch the movies for or just read a summary online.

Will be keeping an eye on this thread tomorrow at work, hopefully the english version stuttering will be patched.

Hmm, well ill be replaying the first one first so hopefully the save issues will be fixed by the time I get to KH2.

Still excited in spite of issues.

Didn't even realize Birth By Sleep was a PSP game, although I still have my PSP in working order.
