Media Create Sales: Week 12, 2017 (Mar 20 - Mar 26)

If 8D sells well enough i dont think they'll bother

I personally think the Switch might be their first time ever we get two Mario Karts on one console. Can you imagine if in four years time they released a sequel and a new version of the Switch. No one would complain and it would sell.

A reason I expect it is because I don't think we will get DLC for MK8D. We might even get a sequel to Double Dash, who knows.

MK8D is just a stop-gap release before the next main entry, of course there'll be another game on Switch. I'd actually expect it to land sometime in November 2018, that'd be roughly 1.5 year after DX (which is almost the same as Wii U launch > MK8 timeframe.

I wonder how well they can balance doing ARMS and Mario Kart 9. I personally doubt they will be able to deliver a potential sequel that quickly after ARMS (though the question remains just how large the MK team is and how many are involved with ARMS).

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Dont think we will see a new MK before the second generation of the Switch console in 2019 - if there is another one next year it will be a mobile title but MK8D wont be replaced anytime soon.

MK7 still hasn't reached 3m. For MK8DX making it too Nintendo must not release another Mario Kart on Switch.

I think this will be their only Mario Kart for this iteration of the Switch, but I think they'll have several DLC packs with new tracks, characters and karts and a release of "MK8D+" somewhere down the line that includes all the DLC

That would be the smart thing to do - this game should perform more or less like a new MK title would perform so how much it sells will be mostly based on how much the Switch sells.

This is the next main entry, it just happens to be an enhanced port of the last one. I don't expect another until 2020 as there shouldn't be an urgent need for one. More dlc is an option too.

I don't see the need for another main entry in MK for a while. 8 was fantastic and I would much rather have them release another chunk of DLC for the game rather than get MK9 in a year or two.

That doesn't look like a proper effort if they're going for PS4 exclusivity (or even Switch/PS4 for the ones liking nonsense multiplatform theories)

I mean, it's been a while since I played it but I'm pretty sure that's one of the environments from Gods Eater Burst... and God Eater 2.

So yeah, doesn't look like much of a step up to me so far.

It's still not officially named God Eater 3 so asking in which year it will be released is already too much :p
Wouldn't surprise me if it was God Eater 2: Rage Burst 2 at this point.

No way we don't get another Mario kart imo. Even if it's 2019 or later.

Dlc is great, but so is getting the 8 million (random #) people who buy MK8D to buy a brand new 60$ one.

So no more road to 5million charts /tables for PS4 vs PS3 after switch success?

Digital numbers for Nioh and NieR are too good. What is the confidence level that these numbers are accurate to 95%?

The Switch sales bodes well for Japanese third party support, especially those that supported the 3DS.

Indeed, most people don't realize that this battle for third parties is fought in Japan alone, the Switch will most likely surpass the PS4 in Japan and it will struggle a bit in the other regions, however with a probable install base of 15-25 million units in Japan alone we'll see all kind of third party support rolling in. -And I fully expect Mario Kart, Splatoon and later on Pokemon to carry the system. Nintendo should also be able to dish out a 2D Mario sometime in 2018 and take over the west too with it.

The next Monster Hunter? Dragon Quest? Random Squenix RPG? They will all appear on the Switch if it keeps doing well in Japan.

I personally wouldn't consider them anything more than a rough ballpark

There's an...interesting new ad for Super Bomberman R.

I love it. The Mario Kart team can do ARMS and Mario Kart. I wouldn't expect another MK game until 2019 the earliest.

Is it the MK team that's making ARMS ?

I expect Nintendo to treat Switch as a sort of extention of Wii U with Zelda, MK and Smash by just continuing to release DLC for the base games.

This should be the way until they really had experimented well enough with HD. Imo, the successor of Switch is the one that would get MK9, Smash5 and ZeldaNext.
