started playing fire emblem heroes and it has wrecked my battery, otherwise it's still great.

Has anyone had an issue with smart lock? it doesn't unlock my phone in my house anymore

Here's a Concept Design of the next Google Pixel & the next Google Pixel XL:

Link.

7 pictures of it. Most of the pictures shows 6 speakers on the very bottom around of the USB port, in which I think that they're front-facing Stereo speakers (I hope).

Picture #3 shows two red buttons on the back, I don't know if they're dual cameras, or volume buttons.

Picture #4 shows 4 lights which I think that they may be LED lights.

I hope that this all comes to fruition in it's final design, especially when Google themselves have been taking suggestions from their own forums here & here (News about it here).

Most requested features are smaller bezels, front-facing stereo speakers, waterproofing & more storage.

Wow, looks awesome. I have been absolutely loving my Pixel XL. It would be really, really hard for me to ever go back to a phone outside the Pixel line at this point.

I started having this issue yesterday. A reset sorts it out for awhile but then it happened again today.

After all these round-edged phones I'd love to see something more square. The Sony Xperia designs have always looked great to me but they've never been competitive in pricing or software.

isn't there a reason the edges are rounded, so they're sturdier?

That too, but I think the most important reason things get rounded is usability. The phone with rounded corners doesn't snag when pulling it out of pocket, doesn't poke your body or put wear on pockets. Rounded edges make it more comfortable to hold and give you a better overall grip because there's a bit more contact area between the phone and the hand or glove.

I can't think of any good reason not to round corners of a phone. As long as you're going to have even the tiniest bezel anyway, the rounding isn't cutting into display size.

I had a Xperia Z3 Compact and liked it a lot, but there was no upside to the sharp corners.

Finally got my Black XL 128 from Verizon after a nearly 4 month wait. God damn this thing is glorious. So happy to be rid of those fucking edge screens too, I will never buy a Samsung phone again if they go all edge screens.

Has anybody experienced randomly not receiving sent texts from someone, and can only do so again by restarting?

Early on I had some issues with TMobil's network not sending/receiving MMS texts, but it was ultimately related to a faulty sim card for me. On on Project Fi, which transitions between TMobile and Sprint, and it would work on Sprint, but not on TMObile. The only way I figured it out was by going deep into the wireless details and looking up what network I was on, which was indicated by a sort of code (though the sprint one had the name "Sprint" in it)

Anyone know how to disable the proximity sensor?

My girlfriend smashed the glass on her Pixel and one of the cracks is right over the sensor, so any time she's in a call the screen goes off. So accidental dials can't be cancelled, she can't use any automated system, and if the other person doesn't answer, she's forced to leave a 5 minute voicemail.

So I have had a smart phone since the first iPhone released, never broken a screen, until last night. Had my Pixel XL between my legs while driving. Got to my destination, leaned back to unbuckle my son, he goes to open the door (no idea why) so I open my quickly to make sure he doesn't jump out, bloop. Phone hits the ground. It cracked the black glass only, and the camera seems to be fine, so I don't think I will even file a claim and wait in case I drop it ever again and crack the front. Price you pay for going naked I guess.

Edit: I was wrong. Any type of light when I take a pic gives me this horrible blur. Not the issue some have had with pixels camera it's different. Guess I'll be filing a claim.

After owning it for a few weeks now I can 100% say it has been worth the wait. No gimmicks, no bullshit superfluous features, just stock android and a solid built piece of hardware. The battery and the fingerprint sensor in the back have been the two biggest improvements for me. Love this phone so far.

Oft hope is born when all is forlorn.
So, I'm looking to upgrade my phone, and it'll be either between the Pixel 2 or the next OnePlus phone.

When are these gonna be out?

Well Pixel will cost almost as twice as OnePlus model and it will be th3 last phone release of the year. Oct/Nov.

My battery life has gone from fantastic to godawful in 3 months. I can barely make it through a work day with like 30 minutes of screen on time and go from 100% to dead. Says Google Services is using the vast majority of battery powered. Is this common at all?

Just to confirm, you've restarted your phone? I'm still getting like 5 hours of screen time.

I have. Also deleted every app that might be sending constant notifications or using location services. It's incredibly annoying having to charge this thing halfway through the day.

That's cool they're taking suggestions but I see that some posts are from February. I assume the new phone will come out in the fall/winter. Will they really have time to implement people's ideas?

mine has started suffering too, I think i'm in need of a factory reset. I started playing a game more often (fire emblem heroes) which is a total hog, but it's been worse than I expected it to be with usage spread across multiple things, not just the game.

Are you running custom launchers? I noticed my battery life went down significantly when I started using Nova, went back to the stock launcher and all was well again.

Yeah I am getting pretty solid battery life. 5hr+ screen time on most cases. But I don't play games. Mostly do twitter, GAF, Spotify via blutooth headset and Netflix videos.

About to get my Pixel, coming from a Nexus 5!

That's going to be a big jump. Performance wise.

The only thing I HATE on my Nexus 5 is the battery life, my god it's awful.

Does anyone know if there's a way to record video directly to a USB-C flash drive?

Looking to record a 1-2 hour long video, but obvious that's not possible with my 32GB Pixel. If I could record directly onto a 128GB flash drive, that would solve the problem.

Thanks

I've had the normal Pixel for about three months now and I personally consider it the best crafted smartphone. Or at least the best one I've had since I've only had iPhones prior to this.

The Android OS blew me away just as much, too. It feels so open and easy.

How is the pricing on these? I wanted one when they first released, but that price was killer to me. Have they gone down some? I feel like if that is the pricing going forward for new models, I might stay a year behind to help offset some of the cost. If the OG Pixels go down in price...

Price is high if not higher. Google can't keep up stock wise and 3rd party resellers are high.

How is battery life on the regular pixel? Thinking of jumping in but don't want to spend the big bucks for the xl. I'd be coming from a iPhone 6s Plus which has pretty good battery life.
