Ryan held a meeting about Spider-Man a few days ago...

Which makes yesterdays pronouncement all the more credible.

Hells yeah, Agent M!

Insomniac I know will nail the banter/quips/jokes wonderfully

Those Ratchet games had some good laughs in them

I'd be more excited for this then any of the known/expected holiday releases i.e. Destiny, Call of Duty, Battlefront and to a lesser extent Red Dead Redemption.

?????

Still hoping they change up that logo on his suit.

Just a guess, but it's not that unlikely that Bethesda will release The Evil Within 2 and/or the next Wolfenstein in holiday season.

They also bluntly said recently that they've been working on a new ip for years. As in Bethesda proper. It's rumored to be a space ip, and was in development prior to Fallout releasing. It very well could release this fall.

I won't complain if we get it earlier, but I really hope they're not being rushed by any kind of marketing plan or whatevs.

After Sunset Overdrive I'm convinced Insomniac can nail the movement system in a Spiderman openworld, if they don't get caught in an impossible schedule.

That would surprise me honestly, imagine what a good Spiderman game would sell, let alone a Spiderman PS4 console. Sony isn't going to fuck this up and Insomniac has the engine and creativity to make this work.

A Spiderman holiday release means no GOW for 2017 :(

But happy for Spiderman, can't wait to see gameplay at E3
The director Cory Barlog said it's playable from start to finish. I don't see why it can't be this year's big game. I have a feeling Cage's game will be released in 2018.

Because Sony won't release Spider-Man, Uncharted, GT, God of War and Knack 2 all within the 2nd half of 2017.

It's very possible that we could have both this year. I'm honestly more concerned about Spider-Man & MvCI being within relatively close proximity to one another in terms of release time frame.

Eh, this specific Uncharted, Knack 2 are I don't think big spectacles. PS4 is at the peak of its life cycle and it's been like five years since the last God of War game.

If true I really hope the game isn't some kind of rush job to release near the movie. Though, this is the studio that made the Ratchet & Clank reboot in 10 months so you never know.

They might. Never forget 2011.

This timeline doesn't make much sense given what I've been able to parse from a friend who interned at Insomniac last year. It seemed like they were extremely early in development last summer. He gave me no concrete information and I'm basing this SOLELY off of the way he talked about his work before I knew what he was working on over there. In other words, I am not an insider and please take everything with a grain of salt please and thank you :).

I just don't see this happening by the end of the year. Next spring maybe?

As we've always said, no release timeframe has been announced

(Also that clip is not new at all - it's months old --- so don't connect it with a tweet about a meeting last week)

This is not "Spider-Man releasing in 2017" material imo
more importantly when I don't believe it like AT ALL !
That's just one site's thoughts. The one saying that Spidey is coming this year is actually with Marvel Entertainment.

But this on the other hand actually bucks what was said in the video. Thanks for stopping by & clarifying.

I dunno man, while this year is pretty laughable to hope for, I don't think there's any chance the game misses 2018. They've got a lot of the tech in a good place as evidenced by 0.2 - it's just about what crazy level of polish Nomura wants to shoot for / if they're going to let him do the entire 100 hour main story thing he was going on about a couple years back.

We'll see. I don't believe Sqaure has improved shit as far as how quickly they can get a product out. We are coming up on the two year anniversary of the FF7R reveal and haven't seen shit more of it. They showed a fucking piece of art at the 30th anniversary event a month ago. Maybe they were holding back for E3 or something. We'll see. But, it didn't fill me with confidence on where the game is at.

There is zero chance it comes out this year. Meaning it is a 2018 title (at best). We've seen even less of KH3, despite it coming up on four years since it was announced. There's always the chance I'm totally wrong and it comes before FF7, obviously. But, I'm more guessing progress has been crazy slow. We'll see.

Once again, I feel like what we do/don't see at E3 will be telling. So, it's kind of foolish to be making predictions right now, when I could easily fall on my face in two months time. Right now, I feel like they are both far far away. I'd love to ge wrong, though.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
Because Sony won't release Spider-Man, Uncharted, GT, God of War and Knack 2 all within the 2nd half of 2017.

Or they want to steal as much buzz from the Scorpio by dropping huge game after huge game. Though I should add I don't expect this either.

No need for Sony to rush any games out this Holiday. They have marketing deals with Destiny 2, Battlefront 2, Red Dead 2, and COD. Release a couple special edition PS4 bundles with any of those games and the PS4 will easily win the Fall. GT Sport will probably be this Fall also to go against Forza, but I think Sony will be just fine if they hold GoW and Spidey 'til Q1 2018.

days gone and gow4 next year

I'd be very surprised if we get it this year. I hope it isn't being rushed out.

Why do you guys assumed they'd be rushed if they released this year? Both these games have been in development for quite some time.
