Media Create Sales: Week 12, 2017 (Mar 20 - Mar 26)

Mpl90

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
MyNintendoStore opened Switch orders again today and sold out in 10 minutes. Next shipment will be April 13.

I suppose it's sold out as of today for all the other online stores, correct?

Another 50K week would be good for switch.

I always expected it to perform very well and it will push the switch like no other game this year. Both in Japan and also in the rest of the world. It will also be the first Handheld Mario Kart since 2011, it will hit very hard in Japan.

At least in Japan splatoon is by far the biggest system seller releasing for the switch this year. Even if Pokemon releases I still think it might be. It's really peaking as a franchise right now.

So the for KT unexpected success of Nioh couldn't make up for the totally expected disappointment elsewhere? Why am I not surprised.

I'm getting the news from a lot of pro-PlayStation Twitter feeds, but it seems Atelier & Nights of Azure were a bit of a disappointment on Steam so far too.

Will wait and see if a better source comes up.

Kazuo Hirai

I really want everyone to know how much more Titanfall 2 sold than Nioh. It was a staggering amount.

I'am curious about the Atelier Firis
Last Fisical report that Atelier Sophie sold 170k with JP/CN(Localized by SIE) version
Atelier Firis already release worldwide on PS4/PSV/PC

I'm getting the news from a lot of pro-PlayStation Twitter feeds, but it seems Atelier & Nights of Azure were a bit of a disappointment on Steam so far too.

They should make a R18 patch as Nekopara

Miitopia is climbing on Amazon.jp, I wonder if it will make a come back the next weeks.

Looks like the demo is working as intended then. Still wondering why they even waited that long to release one. Guess they expected word of mouth to carry sales.

Soichiro Morizumi and Koji Ishitina, both producer and director of Project X Zone left Monolith Soft a few days ago. I guess aiming the west with PxZ2 didn't work out as well as intended.

That both left at the same time is definitely no coincidence. I wonder if that means the disbanding of the Bamco team. Always found that setup a bit weird, it's pretty much the only instance where part of a Nintendo 1st-party studio was hired to develop a game for a 3rd-party publisher. Of course, that's because Monolith used to belong to Bamco, but still a pretty interesting tidbit.

I know, but those numbers look alright-ish to me. I'm meaning confirmation that K-T are saying the sales are a disappointment in their fiscal call thing.

Brownie Brown used to do that as well before being restructured and renamed. And that Bamco team at Monolith Soft was a really odd coincidence as Morizumi and Ishitani apparently both moved from Bandai's Banpresto to Namco's Monolith Soft way before the actual Bamco merger.

The last tie with Baten Kaitos is now cut. D:

My memory isn't that great now, but I recall that back when Monolithsoft was under Namco, the SRW staffers were specifically pouched because Namco wanted to make Namco x Capcom, and they wanted experienced staff who had done such a crossover SRPG before.

Not surprising, but also disappointing.

Yeah, seems alright for me as well, for some late niche ports on Steam.
If it's just some people saying "it's a failure, should have stayed PS exclusive!", then obviously there's no point discussing it yet.

gamesmaya report for April and later.

Once again she mentions lack of important software for PS4, worried for lack of big releases and the impact they'll have.

Switch continues to be out of stock, many Mario Kart preorders include the system too.

SIE business meeting for June is tomorrow (4/4).

If there is mini surprise anouncement for PS4 that can improve things this is the time to happen

Ooh! Was this now added to the eShop?

Shame we don't know the eShop numbers. They could be awfully low, or surprisingly high, we don't know. :(

Disgaea 5 being #11 is a pleasant surprise if I'm honest.

No wonder Nintendo seems to be in no rush to release a Direct if the Switch still is supply constrained , all the people that would be motivated to buy one from it wouldnt be able to do so.

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.

The weirdest part about Morizumi games is that they were all produced and co-developed by Banpresto as well. So he left Banpresto to continue making games with them through Monolith, and for the most part he's the connection Monolith had to these projects.

My memory isn't that great now, but I recall that back when Monolithsoft was under Namco, the SRW staffers were specifically pouched because Namco wanted to make Namco x Capcom, and they wanted experienced staff who had done such a crossover SRPG before.

Pretty sure it applies to all his games. Namco x Capcom and SRW OG Saga for sure. I think Project x Zone too but didn't look at the credits too closely. Were they really poached though? I thought they were still with Branpresto.

Yes. Just now. We'll find out the numbers in another 3-4 weeks. I'm not expecting anything particularly impressive although I'd love to be proved wrong!

I'd say the additional digital sales should be somewhere between 5-10% for every retail release (not counting download cards of course)

Wonder how many countries had the Snipperclips/Joycon bundle - personally that's how I got my copy. In any case Nintendo has to be extremely pleased with the performance of the game - toping digital charts weeks after it's release.
Zelda's performance being the highest in Japan digitally just goes to show that supply might have been lacking and people might have been buying Zelda and 1 2 Switch digitally due to shortages. In any case I'd be interested if Nintendo provides some details about digital adoption rate towards the end of April for their Fiscal Year Earnings Release.
