He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
The game is looking fantastic. Though I was wondering how the turn order was determined in battle.

Risking getting piled on.... OPINION: DQ has been one gen behind the times since the SNES days. They're great games still in spite of this fact though.

This game looks and plays like straight out of the PS2 generation with prettier graphics and HD resolution but DQ fans wouldnt have it any other way.
It reminds me of Rogue Galaxy on ps2 in a way.

That sounds like a problem with having X being confirm instead of cancel. Which is the rightful control scheme for all good people. Jump on X is natural. O should be accept. X should be cancel. No conflicts.

Tell Square that. Jump on FFXV should've been in the Circle button overseas!

You can control your party members manually, they're just using AI for the demo. Manual input was an option for everyone.

The attack animations are looking great, makes me feel like I wanna see all the different attacks like the good old days of FF7-9 on ps1.

Gues my fears were dumbfounded. Its still Turn based JRPG to the core. Getting PS4, 3DS and Switch version if it does get announced. Love the classic feel of DQ games.

Really? Seems like a great showcase of the visual style of the game to me.

Unreal does a great job showing that lighting and the neat fire textures. It's got me excited...

eh just wanted to see that big castle they teased the first time before it was finished
I wonder what it looks like now

So you can play it mostly like DQ8 if you set your party members to listen to commands/manual and use the auto-camera. I guess the only thing is whether or not you input all commands at once or if you input them as their gauge fills up.

The camera really does this battle a disservice. Anything would look lifeless from these angles. Really odd they don't cut in on character attacks.

Will the entire 3DS game be like that, 3D graphics on top screen, 2D 16-bit graphics on the bottom screen ?

As crazy as it sounds...I think I like the look of the 3DS version more than the PS4 one. I'll gladly purchase both if given the option of course, but something about the 3DS version just looks more charming.

No. Only the beginning. You have to choose which you want to play at a certain point but you can switch back and forth at some point.

That debuger running on the top screen!

They retained both 2D sprites and 3D models? Does one show up depending on how you play (i.e. use the Control Pad instead of the Slide Pad)?

Man, this to me just look better lol

Please be this for the Switch version.

Edit: I mean look at that fool running around, so charming.
