New Ys VIII area footage/music (part of the extra content exclusive to PS4)

I like it. New bosses, new areas, et cetera were already confirmed for Ys 8 PS4, but I like seeing it. The Ys 8 PS4 PSN demo being such a smooth 60fps makes sense 'cause the game doesn't look too much different to the Vita version, but still happy that it is.

The song in the beginning is a new song called "Riddles of the Labyrinth" - I looked, that song isn't on the OST. Sounds like it's from Sonoda.

The boss theme is "All Out Attack," a new track arranged by Singa that sounds a lot better than typical Singa stuff.

Thus, I believe there's also going to be a sizeable amount of new music, similar to how Tokyo Xanadu ex+ had an entire CD's worth of new content in the PS4 version (ex+).

Thought it was pretty funny how he ran past all the enemies to get to the boss.

Falcom Magazine issue 74 revealed some more info.

They are actually adding new characters as well to go along with the new content for Dana.

Damn, I wanted to get this on Vita but now I have no choice but PS4 if it's gonna be like that. (probably?)

No one say 'but remote play' because latency is bad enough for me. :(

Latency should not be a problem for you if you use a direct connection. Try putting the PS4 right next to you when you try remote play.

Haven't been following on Ys and was planning to get the Vita one, but after reading about the new additions, PS4 version it is.

Gonna get the LE for Vita mostly because I play most of my games on the go. I'll probably get the PS4 or Steam version down the road, most likely steam during a deal if it also has the PS4 extra content that is.

I'd assume most people that would want the Vita version wouldn't be able to do that since they are going to want to play on commutes or wherever else people find time to play games in public.

Sitting in front of the TV and playing on the Vita seems kind of pointless (and is the reason I hate portable games, I never play them outside the house and always wish I could play the damn things on the TV).

The PS4 version seems to have a significant amount of new content in general, really looking forward to the English release after playing the Japanese demo the other day.

Is it true this is coming to PC as well or was that just a rumor? If not I'll be in on PS4 because hot damn this is my jam

Is this "extra content" truly exclusive to PS4 or just the new versions of the game past vita? Will PC have this content?

So, is this stuff fully exclusive to the PS4 version, or just new to the PS4 version? I was planning on getting the game on PC when it came out in English, but would rather not get an "Incomplete" version of the game..

Eh, it sounds better than most Singa rock tracks. Second section of the track reminds me of Dark Beasts as Black as Night, not in a particularly cool way.

You can tell the player (and President Kondo filming behind him?) wanted a quick sneak peek for their video channels, and they haven't had too much time to get proper footage of something this new. I appreciate the effort!

New to PS4, I would assume.

If NISA was so stupid they contracted a port of the Vita version, that would be hilarious. I assume they're porting the PS4 (with all content intact) to PC.

Vita's never getting this stuff, though.

I don't think it's out of the question for Falcom to patch the simpler additions back into the Vita version as DLC (since they probably filled the physical cart to the brim), and then for NISA to bring that over later. But it's not that likely given how Sen no Kiseki III's got Falcom busy.

Same. They chose a really good slice of the game to show off on PSN, I was extra excited after giving it a shot on my Pro.

The steam page appears to have a screen of a dungeon that wasn't in the Vita version of the game. I can be reasonably certain it's PS4 now, although stupider things have happened.

Yeah like the Mobile or Handheld version of games using the Console/PC trailers, and pictures in their synopsis of a game.

I want to know this

I got a ps4 but rather get the game on PC but wanna know if the extra content will be on PC too ;(

Even if it is a delayed release for the extra content will be fine to me.

It'd be pretty stupid to release both PS4 and PC at the same time wth significant extra content on the PS4 version. They're not gonna do that

I couldn't be more visually boring than this. Ugh. I'll buy it because Ys is amazing but I wish it wasn't held back by the Vita version.

First game in ages I'm gonna double-dip on (last one was... Atelier Ayesha I think?)

Vita version will be my played version but can't ignore these PS4 editions.

And yep, that music is definitely Ys music :p

You must be new to games from developers like Falcom. Welcome.

Definitely not, I'm just wishing.
Actually, the PS2/PSP ports looked good for their time / platforms. This one was built around the Vita pretty much, not the PC.. I'm OK with that, it's just visually held back.

Didn't know that there are exclusive content B.S. Probably will wait for it to get a 50% discount on Steam if it doesn't get the exclusive content...

There's very little chance that the PC version won't get all this.

The Vita version came out, like, several months ago.

The PS4 version was in longer development and has more stuff in it, just like Tokyo Xanadu ex+.

I really, really doubt the PC version WON'T have this stuff - although this is NISA, and Aksys is localizing Tokyo Xanadu ex+ - and they confirmed the PC version is based off of ex+ (the PS4 version.) I just want NISA to say for sure in an announcement.

The PC version is almost certainly based on the PS4 version, of both this and Tokyo Xanadu. It's not on Vita because of a combination of it getting cut for one reason or another (likely performance or they couldn't get it running, Falcom has said the Vita held them back), and the fact they had additional time to work on it since the PS4 versions of both games released a while after the Vita versions.
