Day Two Footage Roundup:

First Half of Day Two Playlist

During this stream the art director gave us sketches that can be found here http://nintendoeverything.com/official-arms-character-sketches/

We saw a new DNA man alt https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C-q_3a9XcAI2hsz.jpg

And a new Minmin alt https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C-q_3bAXYAIcetO.jpg

Once again it seems that the second tournament of the day was not recorded
I don't think any of that is day 2.

Edit: Here's videos from the first part of day 2.

No one seems to have uploaded the 2nd part of day 2, but there's a recording of the semis with the same Minmin player that won the bracket.

Day Two Updates:

The event should be starting at 9PM EST.

Someone recorded the interlude song. Sounds really dope.

Event Day One Updates:

Figured I'd bump this since this was the main thread created for the tournament and the Day 1 stream is about to begin:

Looks like Helix and Minmin are playable at the event
I should mention for anybody hesitant about remembering another username and password, you can use your NNID login.
You will need either a Nico Nico account or apparently your NNID login to view the stream.

They gonna have another one end of the month (29.4. - 30.4.). Abadango and Chocoblanka are back, backed up with MOV and Tanukana (she plays Tekken) this time for the exhibition matches. And there is going to be a tournament for regular people I guess?

Looks like regular people can compete for a shirt and stuff.

Is this a sign that there might be a demo or a testfire style event? I think that is undoubtedly the very best way to sell this game, and if they do release one, it will have a huge attach rate day 1.

Wonder if that means we'll not only see Minmin in action (and hopefully other unrevealed ARMS fighters), but also the customization options on the table to let fighters pick out what set of ARMS they want to take into a fight?

Either way, hopefully this will get some wide spread attention so that it can get people excited for this game in June.

Actually it's just how they did it with Splatoon in Japan. Unfortunately Japan doesn't seem to be interested too much in ARMS yet looking at preorder charts. Maybe this changes it. But I agree demo would have been nice.

Hopefully Ninjara is just the Arms equivalent to the Splat Roller. During the first Testfire, everyone thought Splat Rollers were super OP. Once everyone got used to the game, Splat Rollers started being wrecked appropriately.

Ninjara's problem is that his dodge is fundamentally superior to everyone elses revealed so far which is pretty fundamental trait in a game like this where dodging is stronger than blocking a hit currently.

This is what people said about the roller. It's impossible to judge something as "fundamentally superior" from a handful of fights given a small slice of the game

One of the participants in the last invitational explained why Ninjara was OP.

His teleport ability as it currently stands is too good. So even though he liked playing master mummy to compete he stuck with Ninjara.

It's still just early impressions with a game he played for a few hours with only a slice of what it does offer. In vanilla Marvel 3, people thought Sentinel is broken, but the true broken ones showed up a bit later. Way too early to make a judgement yet. Magneto was considered trash in early MvC 2 days etc.

Given that no one in the invitational seemed to understand or utilize the perks of the other characters yet ( this was probably before they saw the overview video), it makes sense that ninjara was OP. Regardless of the pedigree of these players, and the speed in which they learn, they are still beginners. I'll start worrying about the balance of this game a week after launch. As far as I can tell, Ninjaras teleport is basically a moving block. I'm sure he stil has whatever shield stun if not more, its just that the opponent needs to guess where he'll counterattack from if he tries to. Saving your second punch for that or moving closer seems to be an option. Also, given that countering supers with warps was shown as an example clip in an official video, I'm sure the devs are aware and have had time to tune it. It could also only counter certain cadences of punches.

I think people overreact a little to these demos by saying Ninjara is OP. It's just a demo. It's not the full game and it's not all the characters. People have to play over and over to learn all the nuances. These demos don't mean much to me.

Remember the first day of MvC3 where Wong declared Sentinel is unbeatable and the game was trash because he was so clearly OP?

ninjara's ability is alot easier to integrate then the other ones and its payoff is pretty good, so of course players will gravitate to it. The other characters abilities look good and i think we will see good character representation in general (ribbon girl and minimin both look strong) but its fairly apparent that ninjara will be an easy to use for tourneys kind of character

I would not be surprised to see more Spring Man this time at least, now that more people are likely aware of his little shockwave-parry. Not quite the Ninjara dodge but still really useful.

And of course, tons of Minmin if they use a build she's in. There'll be some good footage to come out of the event, regardless.

There was never one of those switch events here in Miami that were happening in parts of the country earlier this year... closest was somewhere in DC I think? Either way, please release a demo/test-fire/something/anything Nintendo because I just want June to come already. /sad
