Kamiko (Skipmore) announced for Japanese Switch eShop, 500 yen (~$5), April

Do international CC's work on JP eShop or is it like PSN where we need to buy cards? This looks really nice

They blocked the majority of cards from working on overseas eShops.

We know they didn't do this with 3DS, they obviously still don't want people buying games cheaper from another country even though the Switch is region free.

So you have to resort to buying eShop cards preferably off AmazonJP since you can get the code sent by email.

Alright, Kamiko is pretty great. It's not very long - it took me about 45 minutes to beat the game, though I could see others first playthroughs taking an hour - but there are 2 more characters and the game definitely seems to be made with replayability in mind. The artstyle is very appealing, and the soundtrack is appropriately moody. Definitely a good deal for what amounts to about $5.

How easy is it to buy eShop credit from amazon JP? I've never bought anything from another amazon branch before. I have a UK amazon account, but would I need to make a separate Japanese account? Would I need a Japanese address too?

Whats the game? Is it sorta a Zelda thing or not really?

Yes, you need to make a separate Japanese account and make up a fake Japanese address.

There's an option on the AmazonJP site to change to English so you know what to do.

After buying, it takes a few minutes for them to send the code to your email.

Can't wait for this to be released over here, i know its happening so would rather show support to circle when they bring it over rather than buy from jp eshop to try and guarantee we always get these things!

Beat the game with the first girl. I had a blast. Will start again with another character and try to improve my time. Really loving this $5 gem.

Anyone found out how to unlock the "????" In main menu? Finished the game with all three characters and nothing happened.

The "????" in the main menu is :
A sound menu that let's you play the songs from the game at the title screen, you unlock it by finding all four secrets.

Just beat the game not long ago with Yamato, and it took me 1:07:07 to do it.

Had a blast chopping and dodging my way through this one (especially the bosses), and even the hour would've been worth the 500 yen, but I'll definitely be going back for the other characters too. ^_^

Plus that time only got you a bronze, and you aren't gonna settle for a bronze, now are you? ;)

Well, I was going to get this, but it's too much of a hassle. Don't really want to buy a 1000 yen card when I just need 500. Tried to use my credit card after changing the region, but no go. Amazon has 500 yen cards, but won't sell due to region restrictions.

Looks great, but I'll wait until the US release.

Check your PM's.

Wait we have two threads for this game?

Anyway, gone through all three characters, I wholly recommend this game.

I just tried to purchase a 500Y code from Amazon, but even with a Japanese address, it's still blocking me from completing the purchase. Can someone help me out please? I'm happy to transfer via PayPal, unless there's an alternative website I can buy codes at retail prices from...

A few people got it from http://jp-ecards.ocnk.net/product-list/4, where you can use PayPal, but they have suddenly gone out of stock. Worth keeping an eye if they get any more though.

I am crafting the OT right now and I need the assistance of anyone who can translate a bit of Japanese for me.

Please hit me up in this thread or by PM!

edit: Nevermind, found official translations.

I've finished the OT. It's really nice. I can't post it without a release date though.

It can't be far off but I wish they'd hurry up.

Guess that means I'll be looking into making JP account and acquiring 500yen wallet there somehow.

Take the easier approach, empty your US account wallet (or whateve region) and then turn your account to Japan, buy a 500 yen card and then buy that then switch back. Makes it cleaner!

That works? Thank you very much, having all these different region accounts was becoming a hassle, this makes things much easier.

I really don't see the point of account switching if you think you're going to be buying stuff from multiple regions frequently. It just seems so much easier to have multiple accounts, especially since you can just choose which account to use for the eShop when you launch it.

I'm with this guy - I just named my second account "JP" and I only use it for the eShop. Not really a big deal, and that way I don't have to lose the few cents (or dollars) in my account that it's impossible to spend all of (especially with crazy Canadian pricing like I'm getting).

---

On another note, I've recorded some no commentary gameplay of the first area with Yamato. You can see how the game is played once you're used to things (I beat it once with her before recording), and get a sense of the scope of a single level (there are four).

If you're on the fence hopefully this tips you over, 'cause this game is definitely worth the price of admission - even if that price includes the hassle (read: slight inconvenience) of making and linking a Japanese account, and filling it with eShop cards.

I'm waiting for it to pop up on the NA eShop, at the very least so the devs know that there is interest in these types of games over here.

Some sloppy mistakes on the last stage, but happy I broke 20 minutes.

Complete bargain for 500 yen. What a fun little game, plays, looks and sound fantastic.

The only annoying part are the carrying a key/orb bits, where an enemy hit makes you drop it, reminds me of the tense level carrying the bomb in Castlevania N64 lol.

The best thing here is to thin the packs you will be going through down to one little bouncy crappy enemy, then a new pack won't spawn.
