Got bitten around 3 hours ago. It's a laceration. I made it bleed while I doused it in running water for 1 minute. Then I poured 70% alcohol on it and now the wound is closed.

The puppy is not mine and our friend's. I think she's 2 weeks old maybe older. I don't know if she has rabies.

I tried not to move my bitten hand much though I feel that the hand is a tiny bit numb.

It's 4am right now and the hospitals open at 8am. We do have a vet neighbor who would probably wake up at 6 so I should be able to at least know if the dog has rabies.

For the meantime though is there anything else I could do?

a pet? are you in the US?

there hasn't been an instance of a domestic dog giving a person rabies in the US for like decades. however if it's deep you should still see a doctor bc the odds of bacterial infection are relatively high, but this isn't really an emergency.

Junior, please.
If you are in the US it is extremely, extremely unlikely that you have rabies. Just head to the doctor in the morning, no worries.

If the puppy had rabies you could tell.

You should be ok. Don't get stitches... you want any bacteria in there to seep out. Keep it clean.

You have to kill it just in case it's the queen. I think that turns its victims human again, right? Or does that kill them? Either way you know what you have to do.

Ask your friend if the dog is up to date with it's vaccines. Not really sure how old they need to be for them though.
Unless you want to go to the hospital since you're worried, I'd just wait to ask the vet to examine the pup. Though go to the doctor if the bite is severe.

Switch Back 9

a lot of my threads involve me fucking up somehow. Perhaps I'm a moron?

If it doesn't need stiches I wouldn't worry about it.

And the chances of a puppy having rabies are low. Btw, the only real way to test for rabies is to kill the dog, so....

Also, I went through rabies treatment when I was 9 because I was stupid kid who played with a dead bat. Weeks of shots in the stomach are not fun. You are likely fine.

And yes, pic of the wound would be good, but since you say it's closed I doubt it's worth going to doctor for.

A 2 week old puppy? Must have like the tiniest little cute teeth. I srsly doubt it has rabies. Watch the wound, if it gets very red, swollen and feeling hot, it may be infected and need a doctor visit. Otherwise you're fine.

At 2 weeks old that puppy does not have a rabies vaccine. Way too young. Also OP you don't have rabies. It's incredibly rare nowadays. Just go to bed.

i guess if it's 4am you're probably not in the US so who knows!?!

but odds of getting rabies from a dog are still extremely small

Puppies bite, sadly. Little guys are constantly trying to teeth and play. I'd put some neo/polysporin on it, then bandage it. It will almost definitely heal on its own.

If its still bothering you in a couple days, see a doctor. You dont have rabies.

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
I'm legitimately not sure if this is a parody thread or what.

lol at the idea of a two week old domestic dog having rabies. It would have to be infected first by being bitten by something else and it probably hasn't been out of anyone's sight yet.

There might still be time left to cut your arm off and save yourself. I saw a guy do it once when his dog bit his peni, uh, toe.

Two weeks old means its freaking eyes are barely open.

You are fine. Use some semblance of critical thought and if that doesn't work, fucking Google it don't ask a video game forum.
