World of Warcraft |OT9| People still play this? Isn't it from 2004

Lomax

Member
Yeah, it does that. Depending on your DPS you may need a second person (The question is whether you can down him before he teleports you away in the final phase - with a second player you can just leave them up on the outside)

At 110 is there a way to go directly to him via lfr or something or do you have to clear the whole instance? I've been putting off trying it because I don't really want to clear the whole thing.

There's a guy named Seer Kazal (for alliance, not sure for horde) in your garrison that lets you queue for WoD LFR. Should let you queue straight for Archimonde. Not sure if the quest can be done on LFR, but if you can then you can use that to do it faster. Otherwise I guess you can find someone who did HFC back in the day that can port straight to Mannoroth?

works ok. I leveled mostly as Blood and pulled entire camps most of the time. I switched to unholy when I needed single target. Frost was the only shitty leveling experience because everything would just kill you.

of course this was at the start of the expansion and as a tank I could usually just train 30 mobs into a nearby mage. Maybe it's still easy, with people out and about for world quests.

eh, weird. Having levelled DKs at least twice per xpac (live and beta), I'd pretty consistently rank the modern specs for levelling: Frost, Blood, Unholy. Frost is just as survivable as unholy, with the benefit that it kills mobs much faster. Unholy has ramp up while frost is just full speed at all times. They both have Dark Succor which is how you stay alive with no downtime (Free 20% heal death strike every time you kill a mob) and it also gives you burst dps since it does damage as well. Unholy has to deal with a pet, which is usually an overblown downside in raids, but when you're running around, mounting, dismounting, etc, they are pretty bad to rely on. Blood just kills slowly, as already noted. You have to focus on pulling LOTS of mobs to get value out of blood levelling, while the other two specs excel at targetted murder in a quick fashion.

Even up to 109 with Legion my frost levelling experience tended to be: Walk up to mob, death strike to heal to full, obliterate, 50% chance the mob was instantly dead if that crit, if not howling blast maybe procced and the mob was dead, if not that then you obliterate again and it's dead. This works the entire way up.

I'm at 109 with my DK and have been Invasion leveling as Blood when its up. I was curious if the pet had any sort of taunt like Hunters and locks which would make soloing elites easier since I'm still geared in my WoD stuff. At this point I'll just get to 110 and grab a set of 850+ gear from Broken Shore.

PSA for EU players, get the command center buff and pick up a legendary follower item from Morris Townsend in the command center.

Also check your order hall missions, on my main I got three elite strike missions.

- 9 million AP token
-500 Legionfall resources
-7500 Nethershards

Yeah, it works on LFR. Just find a pal to make the last stage easier.

Thanks, I didn't realize it worked like that, definitely will get that done now. Hopefully it will drop the quest item.

Oh yeah, definitely not that :) It's not a tank it's just kind of set and forget dps. Elites are 100% the domain of blood.

Oh and wanted to reply to:
Yeah, of all the new follower/class hall quests I've done, the Paladin NE 'ghost' (I know Maximillian's there too), the DK random undead lady (tho I kind of understand they have a much more limited follower pool to draw from, and they kind of blew their load in giving you the Horsemen), and the Shamans getting Grimtotem (just....wat) are the odd choices that I've seen.

Monks just getting another random beer quest, and another random Pandaren follower is also kinda 'eh', but that's kind of par for the course for monks at this point. Haven't done it, but while the Nightborne Hunter companion is kinda 'eh' as well from a lore perspective, at least it's related to the situation in Legion where we're now allies.

As an aside, while I personally like Lillian Voss as a character, I'd much rather have Tess Graymane for my 2nd bodyguard as a rogue, even though I know it doesn't make sense for the Horde getting her.

But in the end, two spots should always be taken up by Morose and/or Meatball anyways, so it's kinda moot.

Minerva (the DK follower) is new this expansion, but she's not 'random' though, she's the DK you befriend during the blood artifact quest. I love her, she's a sassy ass bitch that speaks in 100% dad jokes with a raspy voice. I hope she sticks around.
And yeah, we've already got every major DK npc as a follower anyway (and 3 others that weren't even DKs that we just appropriated because fuck you death knights are cool).

Yeah, just did it with four people (didn't need that many, but three people all wanted to come, so eh) and it was an absolute cakewalk. Got the quest item. To think, it was the one mining quest I was worried about, but now it's actually the only skill I have at 3 stars.

God damn it, I'm so close to getting this tank artifact appearance done on my druid even without range increasing legendaries, but I keep making small mistakes that cost me the kill. Like forgetting to change my focus when Kruul spawns, or being 1 yard too close to the boss and getting 1shot, or not paying attention for 0.001 seconds and getting knocked off the edge. Best attempt was 10% on Kruul, and I'm not dying to lack of DPS so I'll get it tonight, but man I can't wait to be done with this one.

Can't say the tank challenge was all that fun, more like annoying. I found the DPS one (balance) and the healer one to be pretty awesome though myself.

You can also cheese the ones where you float up in bubbles to click an item, by flying straight to the item. Kirin Tor WQs are the best now

I'm sure they'll get nerfed at some point where talking to the guy that starts the WQ dismounts you, but for now it's nice

Wow, that's amazing. It's crazy how much flying has improved my feelings on just doing everyday shit in the world, haha.

Tank Challenge as Vengeance is annoying. The kit we have for it is pretty good, but I don't have a certain artifact trait (one of the new ones) that increases your DPS by a ton which would help a lot.

Think I still might be able to do it, but it's a bit rough. Have only gotten to Kruul himself like 2-3 times.

Just wipes in P1 all the time to stupid little things.

I have 12 Marks of Valor from the auto turn-ins now, favorite legacy PvP set for Warlocks? My toon is a male blood elf.
Damn, you get marks of valor from the world quests??

I need to do this. I'm guilty of just completely ignoring the PvP quests usually.

Several marks of honor are the reward sometimes. 3 for the tower quests and 5 for the brawl quests, I think. If you have several alts, you can rack up quite a lot of them while they're up. If the 5 marks reward is up and you have 3 characters at 110, that's 15 quick and easy marks right there (don't forget that they are BoA too!).

So my mining quest wants me to kill Archimonde.

What.

Profession questing in Legion is so phoned in.

Run a Mythic dungeon for these geegaws, farm ghost mobs for a recipe drop, then farm a boss in Nighthold for another recipe drop, now you can make lvl 3 Imbued Silkweave Satchels! None of which involves actually doing your profession.

At least with HFC you can complete it in LFR or easily join a mythic mog run and knock the whole instance out in no time flat.

I still prefer the stuff from BC that was just T5 and T6 recolors. The T5 recolor especially I think the dark arena color was better. There's some great belts in later seasons though, especially WoD.

I hope I get lucky with my Warrior and Timeless Strategem is its first Leggo drop. I know that it's just a utility Leggo and there are infinitely better ones to have but three charges of Mighty Leap still sounds pretty damned amazing for PVE...even with having flying unlocked.

I just use my Order Hall auto-complete function to clear some PVP world quests. Specifically the ones that earn you the Free For All, More For Me achievement that rewards you The Prestigious War Steed/Wolf.

I got this on one of my warriors who had literally dinged 110, 20 minutes earlier.
I dinged 110 from 2 out of 6 WQ up for an invasion. Hearthed to Dalaran to unlock WQ and went back, did 4 more invasion quests and Stormheim happened to be one of the Emissarys so I could turn it in straight away and boom, my first legendary.

Also, one of my warlocks got 2 legendaries out of the first 3 emissaries that spawned for him.

They definitely upped the drop chance for the first 2 legendaries recently.

So reactivated yesterday and little overwhelmed but having fun.
Just have a quick questions, whats the fastest way to get distilled titan essence.
All my toons are walking around with 910 legendarys and want to upgrade them fast.

Normal and above NH raiding drop them. + weekly chest also has them. And emissaries have a few too.

If you do normal raid and a mythic + and most of your emissaries you'll have enough to upgrade one per week roughly. Maybe a bit faster with luck or if they improved the drop rates with 7.2

Did they give a free leg follower item the first time the command center went up too? Because if they did, I missed it on all my characters QQ.
Got a 50 gold/100 resources one for my bodyguard, Lady S'theno has just become even more awesome to have around with me.

Each "thing" you get from the different Broken Shores buildings is variable, it rotates each time the building is build. So last time Command Center was something else, dungeon WQ I think. Each building has one set thing that it gives and one rotating thing. For example, Mage Tower in US right now gives water walking while mounted... yea look forward to that one!

I went to Isle of Quel'danas, but it doesn't look like those sets can be bought with Marks of Honor. Every other expansion's armor can, and even the Legion S1/S2 appearances are available, but I can't figure out the TBC.

Edit: Wowhead comes through again, they are in Netherstorm.

XD

Just witnessed something weird and I'd like to ask in here if it's something normal.
I had a Dungeon WQ on my Lock that gave a trinket. These WQ last 3 days, and this one had still 1 day and some hours left. I queued for the dungeon, meanwhile the daily reset rolled by and now the dungeon WQ, while having 24 hours left, has changed the reward from a trinket to some useless shoulders. Is this normal? WQ rewards randomly changing while the WQ is still active?

How's it feeling since the nerf? At iLvl 900 I was barely making a dent in it as a prot paladin, but was starting to get a coherent strategy together for P1.

Still a reasonable while to go before we'll see the mage tower again in Europe, so I can't try it for a bit.

I learnt that if you complete a Brawler's Guild mission on the app, it won't progress to the next one, you need to repeat the one you just did. Even after handing in the quest item, still only one you've done shows.

Not sure if anyone here can help with this, but wanted to check if any of you guys have had the same experience as I have with Legion. Ever since Legion hit, I've had a huge drop in FPS on my laptop, granted it's not the most powerful by any means, but I would think it should be able to run WoW on 1080p with every other setting on low or disabled except AF and Textures on High. If I go infront of the AH in Stormwind, I drop all the way down to 20-30 FPS with everything on low and the resolution at freaking 800x600, and to me this seems totally absurd.

I'm running WoW on a Lenovo Y700 laptop with a 960M 4Gb, i5 6300HQ 2,3Ghz and 8Gb memory. WoW is installed on an SSD. Does this seem at all right to you guys?

I've kept my eye on the CPU and GPU usage in Afterburner and single core % is never higher than 75-80% and overall CPU is at about 40-50% when the drops happen. Same with GPU, it's at about 20-40%.

Check your in game rendering multiplier, the NVidea software likes to jack that up. Also make sure your draw distance isn't any higher than 7. You might also run a memtest, that sounds a lot like lack of memory, one of your sticks could have gone bad.

I'm running everything at 1, the sliders I mean. And I don't have Nvidia Experience installed, so rendering is at 100%. I tried it at a much higher (also lower), and the same problem still persists.

EDIT: I just downloaded Passmark Memtest86 and it's running. No errors or anything yet, but it's on the first pass at the moment.

Stormwind AH is one of the busiest areas in the game, what's it like everywhere else? I think at like the "7" setting in front of Stormwind AH @ 1440p, I get like 40fps with 1080/6700k.

It varies, a lot. Most of the time it can be on 60 fps, but at times it slows to a crawl at 20 FPS. I wouldn't mind it all that much if I could correct the issue by just changing the resolution to a lower one, but even that doesn't work.

Anoregon

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
Got the KJ legendary trinket on my DK last night. It's pretty neat. It also allowed/forced me to swap my gear around a bit and get my mastery up to a decent level, which is necessary for most of the Unholy builds.

Now to just somehow get this scrub alt's ilvl up about 30 levels so I can do the artifact challenge scenario for the best DK weapon model in the game.

Yeah, you have to compete the quest in game before it will give you the next mission, otherwise it just offers you the same mission again. That happens in game too, it's just less likely to see it happen. I accidentally did a couple of extra missions before realizing that was happening. That isn't so much an app bug as it is a function of the chain being partially in game and partially mission based.

Funny, got my sixth 110 yesterday too and its a tank (but my 4th) in greens and old WoD blues. Went straight to the Broken Shore for some sweet Dauntless gear. Took forever to get through the scenario though.

Debatimg whether to use invasions to batch level all classes to 110. There's still so much for me to do on my mage that I'm not sure I'll ever really play them much... but I would like to experience the class order hall storylines and it might be useful for farming raid mounts.

That's what I'm doing right now, level alts through invasions. Should have flying in couple of days so that should make it a lot easier. I hated legion zones so much that I couldn't get myself to level a single alt. I usually have most alts leveled to max this far into an expansion. Thank God for invasions and flying.

Doing anything out in the world at 110 in greens is brutal, at least as tank spec you don't die. I switched to prot at 110 on my paladin in the world because as ret I'd still die all the time and my poor shaman just got destroyed constantly. That scaling switch from 109 to 110 is massive.

Seriously, what the fuck is this.

I got ganked by a group of alliance while on top of Black Rook Hold for the Val Sharah invasion quest. Now my ghost didn't get a flying mount, and the place I get returned to when clicking return to graveyard doesn't even have a fucking spirit healer.

I've started doing that. It's convenient that most of the toons I haven't capped yet have a tank spec.. Warrior, Monk, Paladin, Demon Hunter, then Rogue and Hunter are the odd ones out. It is rough sledding doing the multi-objective quests on the rogue and dying constantly, so I just do the bosses and leave it at that.

I'm doing all the actual content on my main (DH). Only play my alts when I've got my daily and weekly stuff done, and with the sole goal of unlocking Artifact appearances for them.

Man I feel like something weird is going on. Swapped my alt druid to my main when 7.2, had no Guardian legendaries. Been playing Guardian loot spec since the patch hit (3 and a half weeks ago now?) and I got one legendary on the 2nd day, but since then still haven't gotten my second legendary. I have 6 chars at 110 and all of them have gotten their 2nd legendary within 2 weeks, and I play them a LOT less than I'm playing this druid. Just really wish I would've gotten it, any legendary would give me a much better shot at the Mage Tower challenge, using a Balance one now that barely has any effect.

I wish these Dauntless tokens were BoA.

Yea they're pretty pointless right now, but I do see the whole "we don't want you gearing characters without playing them" aspect. But they are completely pointless at the moment, I wish there was a way to either put them in the obliterum forge or something for non enchanters at least.

Got my first legendary but it's the stupid necklace with the bubble effect. It's actually really a helpful item but my god the bubble itself is so annoying looking. Why did they make it visible!? And why does it refresh every 30 seconds rather than just exist permanently and then replenish 30 seconds after being damaged?
