Media Create Sales: Week 15, 2017 (Apr 10 - Apr 16)

Im more than sure it would sell more than big enough numbers. Full GTA on the go would be a big sell. It would def. cut into some of the sales from the other versions though, not sure how much it would add onto them.

It wouldn't cut into sales at all. GTAV has become the default game to pick up when you get an xbone or PS4. A switch version won't change that.

The question is would rockstar bother with a switch version? GTAV just keeps on selling huge amounts without any effort on their part. I'm sure their focus is on RDR2 and GTAVI now. I don't think they would even consider the switch unless Nintendo approached them.

Having said that it does run on 360/PS3 so you'd think a port would be relatively easy. It also gives them a foothold in the handheld market which just opens them up to even more sales.

I doubt it will happen though.

I'd honestly be surprised if FF7R even MAKES it on PS4 in a timely matter, it sounds/feels like it's years out. Even if it somehow was coming to Switch, I'd only be hyped if it was actually coming out no later than next year. (Okay that's a minor lie, I'd be HYPED but I'd still have possible vaporware in the back of my mind about it still)

Kingdom Hearts 3 would more likely come out this or next year, far before FF7R. What's worse is that FF7R is supposed to be split into 3 full games now right?

The date they release those multiplatform games we will have the moat followed Media Create and NPD threads of GAF history

I dont know why ff7 keeps getting thrown into these meltdown conversations. It was announced as a timed exclusive meaning it's coming to other platforms. We've known this since day 1. Also at launch Ps4 FF7 will be the best selling SKU because it's the only one. The biggest hub bub will most likely be those claiming how much it could of sold if it launched simultaneously with switch/X1.

Well, the people who have been denying games of "high graphical" caliber being ported to the Switch would have to eat crow. If a game like FF7R were on the Switch, then almost any game can be released on the Switch.

We'll find out soon enough; the Switch's future is all on Nintendo putting the effort.

I wonder if Splatoon 2 will sell well?

They just called it an announcement trailer. Did they say anywhere that it was Switch footage? Genuinely asking, because that would be kinda scummy if they did.

The trailer says "All in-game footage" and there's only the Switch logo at the end, so, if it's not Switch footage, that's pretty misleading.

Seems like the best thread for this:

Hey Japan-living people,

I'm probably going to be in Japan when Splatoon 2 launches. Where would be a good/the best place to go to some sort of launch event?

I expect Arms to do significantly better than it seems like most people are thinking. Sure, it won't reach the level of Splatoon 2 (not by a long shot), but I think it has just the right elements for success:

-Memorable and diverse character roster (thus far)
-Online multiplayer as well as local co-op
-Variety of control options (motion or traditional)
-Launch timing (well placed between Minecraft and Splatoon 2)

They just need to show it off a lot more before launch. Show us a campaign mode, more characters, etc. I think it has the potential to be the most popular fighting game in Japan in some time.

I think it's real because of this:

Orgen leaked Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 months before the announcement, with the correct names and everything, when there was no precedent for that sort of thing in the series before. In this quote he's talking about a Japanese UE4 game coming to Switch.

I can't think of anything that would fit the description besides FF7R.
It could be Bayonetta 3, Platinum Games has been teasing it with a bunch of videos on their channel

Oregen asked about how people would feel about FFVIIR on Switch. It's like he was giving us a hint that it was FFVIIR.

It would be weird to see FFVIIR at Nintendos event even though it's coming to PS4 first.

Just the game. Heck I might not even need that if it sold out say, I'll be getting my local version digitally.

Just want to experience a Japanese launch!

I don't think FFVIIR is gonna make it to the console

But screw it, how about both Bayonetta 3 and FFVIIR at E3, that would be awesome

Most stores in cities usually have lines for a big game launch. Try checking out nearest stores when you get there.

Yeah I guess I'll go to a central place like Shibuya, unless Nintendo does something special somewhere.

Yodobashi Akiba. In 2015 they were showing some demos, two or three weeks before Splatoon launched. I remember that by that time, there was a big earthquake near Tokyo.

Have a number in mind? I've been asking several people.
I believe mine was less than 200-250k as a bomb/unsuccessful. Anything above 350k LTD as good enough. And above 500k is really good. I'd have to check my Hx though.

So you're quite famous! You were in Famitsu, lol.

Yeah, Shibuya TSUTAYA is the queue local for reference. MH4 and 4G were enormous there.

Less than 200k is going to be disastrous considering the marketing push. I believe reaching 300k should be doable especially for Arms there.

Rakuten is getting Switch restocks on the 29th.

Went into my local Joshin today and saw a guy walking out with a Switch. When I went over to the game section the soldout sign was gone, but no Switch's in sight -this was 30minutes after the store opened-. So they probably got a small shipment today.

Also looks like amazon isn't taking anymore preorders for Mario Kart.

Amazon.com or Amazon.jp?

Edit: nvm checked myself, would have been insane if it somehow sold out on Amazon.com.
