LTTP: Uncharted series

Great write-up.

Just one comment, UC3 is by far the one with less combat of all the pre-UC4 games. Look up the enemy count for each game.
It's pretty noticeable just from playing it, considering how much I agree with you in general this observation just stood out to me.
Unlike pretty much everyone the pacing didn't bother me in UC4, taking in the environments while hearing the banter between the characters was enough to keep me entertained.

I tend to avoid UC lttps like the plague and seeing a new one posted makes me roll my eyes because of how many there are but I'm glad I gave yours a read.

Now join us in the wait for Lost Legacy.

I would say as many like the pacing as dislike itif not more, looking through the game of the year voting and the 52 games in a year thread from last year and you will see a load of people say it's their favorite one and that they loved the pacing in 4.

Thanks for posting your impressions OP! Liked reading through them and re-experiencing this awesome series. It's refreshing to see a LTTP that is not overly negative and a, "I don't get the hype...".

I need to replay uncharted 4 cause I don't remember the pacing bothering me. I still think Uncharted 2 provides that sense of wonder and adventure better than any of them and for that it is my favorite, even though I thought Uncharted 4 was very good

Yeah I was expecting a negative thread also. Ultimately these games are about the characters and their adventures, and they deliver on that front

You need to borrow a Vita OP and play Golden Abyss. It too is good, it reminds me more of Uncharted 1 (which I like).

Also Samuel Drake needs his own Uncharted game.

I, too, suggest playing Golden Abyss. Was a fun game in its own right. Too bad it doesnt work on PSTV though (but I think the back camera or something is required so that might be reasonable unlike many games).

Waiting for Lost Legacy....

Great job updating the OP like that. Glad you enjoyed the series.

I've got a vibe about Lost Legacy. I think it could slot in between Uncharted 4 and Uncharted 2 as the best.

Heck, it might even turn out to be the best. Taking everything they learnt from UC4 and making a far tighter, leaner game - it could slot in over Uncharted 2 as the best. I just hope they pull off the open/wide spaces.

So since I enjoyed the Uncharted series, should I try the Tomb Raider series? I never really got into them, but I've heard they're very similar. I think I have almost if not all of them via Steam.

TR games have a different spin on land layouts, RPG systems and action, but the story and charachters are sub-par. They are worth playing, but don't expect miracles.

There's definitely a downgrade as far as memorable, colorful characters, and the stories aren't as interesting (I quite enjoy how Drake figures out the histories and secrets of the deceased people and treasures he tries to track), and don't expect any big set pieces like the motorcycle chase in 4 or the helicopter in 2.

And I can only speak for myself, but I couldn't finish Rise of the Tomb Raider as I felt the treasures became a grind and the side missions were poorly done. But many people enjoy it, so take what I said with a grain of salt.
