Went to bed. Woke up and checked what I missed. Conner is gone. Oh well... I hope he has an awesome career regardless.

We're looking HOT. If Chris Godwin does what we need in the slot? We will be the best offense in the league.
okay. second. the patriots.
Licht and Koetter have very large faith in Doug Martin so hopefully that pays off. Honestly he had the 2nd highest rushing yards just 2 years ago...now with OJ Howard who can block real well and a good O'Line which I feel we didn't have 2 years ago? He could go #1 in rush yards.

Licht and Koetter have decided that best way forward is to morph the Bucs into a pass first offense and flooding the field with receiving weapons. That alone will improve the rushing attack as teams won't dare bring their safeties into the Box.

I'm not super high on Taco. He shows inconsistency in his technique, and isn't as relentless in his pass rush as the other top edge prospects. However, he was the best available pass rusher and has the highest upside as a 3 down player among Harris and Takk who are both smaller, speed edge rushers. Luckily for us though, is that Taco showed flashes of brilliance and improved in his tape against better competition at seasons' end. His initial burst got quicker and he did a better job in his bend. For me, I have to wait and see at training camp. My biggest concern with him as a pick, is that he was picked solely for his measurables, because his overall game tape does not suggest a first round grade. I think there were better players at pick 28. In conclusion, if his production against OSU and FSU is indicative of the type of player he can be consistently in the NFL, we hit a homerun as he will definitely improve with our coaching staff. Taco may grow into a day one starter with potential to be a year after year pro bowler if he blends his monster measurables with an NFL edge rush skill set. I think he is a rotational player year 1 that sees his role and production grow later in the season, that develops into a starter and 3 down player with that first year under his built. The Cowboys made the right pick here.

Chidobe Awuzie. We lucked out drafting this player. He is athletic, versatile, aggressive in coverage and against the run, physical tackler that is always around the ball, and high football IQ. Football intelligence is his best trait. His biggest weakness is ball skills. His hands are small and unsure. He has hands like Orlando Scandrick. His game is very similar to Orlando as well, in that he will be in proper position to make a play, but ultimately infuriates us as fans because he will drop sure interceptions. At the end of the day, however, Awuzie will knock the ball down and break up plays. He is also an excellent blitzer, by far the best DB off the line of scrimmage by far. I think he projects as a day one starter, and future pro bowler.

Finally rd 3, our pick Jourdan Lewis. This was a gift. The addition of Lewis immediately adds another starter into our mix of cornerbacks. I think he competes with Nolan Carrol for a starting outside cornerback spot. It's possible he challenges Anthony Brown as well. If that happens, Brown will slide to the off-ball side and cover the other teams nr 2 receiver. He is arguably the best true cornerback of this class. Lewis locks down his man in coverage. I consider his coverage ability to be elite. His tackling and run support are solid aspects of his game as well. As a football player, I don't see any glaring weaknesses. He loses stock as a prospect because he is undersized, and his athleticism is slightly above average, but definitely enough to compete in the NFL. The bottom line with Jourdan Lewis is, he is a high floor player that will contribute in a meaningful way day one. His size and lack of athleticism may hold him back from becoming a pro bowler, but he will nonetheless be a very solid starter for years to come.

I'm excited so far. The board has been fortunate to Dallas with how these defensive players have fallen. I'm hoping we land Xavier Woods in rd 4. He's a small school player with lots of talent, a knack for making plays, dishes punishment, and has lots of upside.

While the Eagles got Sidney Jones who when healthy and if he returns to form might be the 2nd best CB from this draft, the Cowboys were very fortunate with how the board fell and addressed their secondary really well.

No you don't. He is a player you tolerate because he is on your team. He wags his finger like a moron even when the QB makes a bad throw or the wind knocks a ball down. I believe garbage like him is why lurie brought in an adult to run the draft rather then Howie. I will be so happy when he is off the team. Maybe the next gm can cut him and resign Rowe.

Don't forget the green hair!

I agree though Mills showed absolutely nothing other than he exists and will wag his finger no matter what caused an incompletion.

Now for the team's sake I hope he is 10x better in year 2 but I didn't see much year 1 to be confident.

Hopefully the Dline will be that much better, and it might be, and this kid Douglas can contribute because this D is going to face Beckham/Marshall 2x, Pryor 2x, and Dez 2x.

Missing Rowe :(

We got 3 today!

Justin Evans is a beast. Reminds me of Karl Joseph. He hits hard, and is fast. Also a huge weapon for Kick Returns and Punt Returns.

Chris Godwin is one of the most underrated WRs to come out of this draft imho. He's got great hands, is fast and can play slot as well as the outsides. Also a threat regarding Kick Returns.

Don't really know too much about the LSU LB we got but I have good faith in the pick, especially if we were willing to trade up for him. His tackles for a loss are really good.

Kwon was a steal so can't blame Licht and Koetter for trying to go back to the well. This draft has much more of a BPA over need feel IMO.

Fairly happy with the pats selections. Smaller school guys that stood out. They're depth, for now. Haven't invested in tackle in years.

Not impressed with losing a sixth rounder for what I can tell is no reason.

edit: I could see the Patriots going with more depth picks today. There are still a shitload of talented running backs out there. Wouldn't surprise me if they take one in the fourth. Just because it's such a good group compared to the rest of the positions.

I kinda feel bad for Eli. All of the other NFC East teams are getting better on the DL and getting new corners, and he's stuck with that same OL

How is Cowboysgaf feeling the draft so far? Obi & Rivers were my boys, Hurts we were close to both, but liking how it has fallen for us so far.

Get a Safety, TE, and another DE and I'll love the draft.

way better now than right after the first round pick and some unwarranted disappointment
could have been better, but could've also been worse

this is what you get if you pick very late. and for the draft position they picked great value and type of players.

plus as always, we have the hype and media buzz

Drew Pearson made the night
Taco and Chido as the next rookie player duo - just imagine the marketing

Reese has invested in the line, I can't fault him for that so much. He has ignored the TE and LB spots but for the OL - two 1st round picks and a 2nd rounder. Compared to the Giants 2004-2011 OL, that is three premium picks compared to one from that group (Snee). He has just picked the wrong players.

At least for Eli this is a quick rythm pass offense, where under Gilbride he was taking longer drop backs and more throws downfield. Still, the tackles have to play better or they won't go far.

Yeah hopefully the dl is killer this year. Ike Reese said yesterday that the eagles plan is to use their NASCAR package as their base defense. Basically Vinny will slide inside to replace Logan and Barnett will be the DE. He said Vinny was better last year as a DT then a DE. Hopefully they get some pressure this year, though it won't matter if Schwartz is still playing mills 10 yards off of everyone.

They really like Rico Gathers, so I don't know if they will draft another TE.

After watching the Clemson game I'm really like this Antonio Garcia pick. Needs a lot of work in the running game, but he's a solid pass protector right now.

I like the Colts draft so far

Still plenty of time to get a productive back in the middle and late rounds.

I really feel like if Mixon isn't a woman beater on tape he potentially goes in the first round so maybe the Bengals got a lot of value at pick 48 or wherever they got him. Dude is still a piece of shit but man that skillset he's got.

Great so far, and if they go Safety 4th i will be even happier, leaving them with 3 picks left. We still need another DL, TE, and WR.

I'm sitting here thinking about Trent Dilfer's "If 5 quarterbacks got in a car" metaphor and what we will be missing as a country and I just can't go on.

Well need another anyways, got injury prone players and Escobar is thankfully out of town so there is a need. Ktitle will likely be gone when we pick but would be anice option i'd like

Darren Rovell @darrenrovell

Jake Butt's loss of value insurance policy has paid him $150,000 so far. Gets $10,000 per pick not chosen since middle of third round.

Weird I can't believe a company would do that when his own agent could leak a story about him failing a drug test to cause him to drop.

Top players are going to start skipping more and more of the bowl games now.

Butt played in his and got injured. Now he'll be lucky to get drafted in the fourth round.

Fournette and McCaffrey both skipped their bowl games and they went in the top 10.

Insurance policy for injury. He was one of the top TE prospescts before his late season injury. Believe it happened in Michigans bowl game. Lost possible millions

Yeah. Everyone here freaking out about $150,000 like he hit the lottery. He's losing far more by not getting drafted.

Yeah, saw someone saying this really hurts the "Play in your bowl game" narrative. Butt does and drops from 1st rounder to maybe 5th, Fournette and McCaff sit out and get picked top 8.

I'd take a flyer on Butt though with one of our 4ths

I wonder if Eagles add pure speed in someone like Dede Westbrook with pick 109 or the or after.

I think they should take best CB left but need to add a speed demon either at RB or WR.

I hope the Eagles can pick up Perine. Not a ton of teams between them to take him, but someone could swoop in like Minnesota and take him

Remember Jaylon Smith? Dude was a top 3 pick who fell to the 2nd.

Good news for Cowboy fans, though. It looks like he's healing right and should be able to play this year.

Yeah Eagles are banking on the same thing with Sidney Jones anyway. But to be fair, Jaylon Smith had a horrific injury, and is still gonna have drop foot this year most likely. He'll still probably be great this year, but still gotta wait another year to see if that nerve fully recovers. Butt just has an ACL tear. It's just that this is the latest in a string of injuries so there are durability concerns with him

Anyone other than Bears fans upset with their teams draft so far?

I'm not thrilled with the Texans. I like the linebacker they picked up as he will be better in coverage, but I think they gave up way too much to get Watson at QB (and I even think Watson can be good).

Rick Smith should have been fired ages ago (he was more to blame for everything than Kubiak) but I don't think BoB or him survive this year. They've snuck into division wins the past two years but the division is better this year.

Chiefs trade TE James O’Shaughnessy and the No. 216 overall pick of the 2017 draft to the Patriots for the No. 183 pick from New England.
