Is this garb series actually about zoos?

As if Tokyo needs otaku going to misc. places on kimoi pilgrimages making lines even longer.

All of the animals turn into little girls.

All of the animals turn into little girls.

And this makes you want to shoot yourself?

Little girls going on adventures and meeting friends are far from what I'd find objectionable. If the show uses them as vessels for titillation, I'd turn against it so quick. But does it?

More here

Waifus apparently transcend species.

Not to rain on the weeaboo parade here, but, maybe he was just freaked out? Animals, especially older ones, can get so stressed that they don't eat anymore. It was a new thing in his habitat, it is big, black and white and seems to not go anywhere.

Other black and white things are : Orca (hunt Penguin) and Other Penguin (Competitition especially when this big).

If I where a Penguin, and I meet a huge black and white thing I'd also go, :"AW HELL NO!, better keep an eye on that, it might be one of them murder fishes. And at my age? Yeah... better be careful here.."

Did you not read the article?
Japanese visitors noted that Grape-kun would spend every minute staring at, sitting next to, or praising Hululu as if she was a breathing mate.

I did, but I know zoos tend to fill in blanks to get more costumers or to act "popular".

I am not that fond of zoos that use animals like this to do "popular research" to get people to pay the entrance fee. Very often it has nothing to do with animal welfare/research, it abuses students and their internships (as they sell it as a great and romantic opportunity) and it is stressful for the animals.

So yes I'm not that fond of zoos, and get highly skeptical when reading articles like this. Marine parks alone proof just how damaging this practice is. I also said it can be a big penguin or an orca to him, if it happens to be a big penguin he might try to mate with it, of course. But it could very well be stress too. But what does the zoo care, they got their exposure, paying costumers and a positive article again.

I mean for goodness sake: The Panda trade alone is a big example of this!

Honestly this and the story of the two male penguins that were into each other and used a rock as an egg substitute facinate me xD it's always interesting to see animals act beyond what we think of as their natural order of things

Wow! That sounds neat!

Japari Park is a large zoo home to extant species, endangered species, extinct species, cryptids and some legendary creatures. Due to a mysterious substance known as "Sandstar", all the animals have become anthropomorphized into girls known as Friends (フレンズ Furenzu?) -Wikipedia

Well, you can see the ingredients for success. It's very marketable.

Now to go gouge my eyes out...
