It makes sense, have you saw the crazy flow chart if you want to try and read all the minis at just the right moment? Lol

Yeah I was looking into the hard-covers a while back and noped straight out of buying them lol good thing the books are always on sale digitally.

Hmm. That's one of the two Rebirth books I was looking forward to based on impressions on here. (The other being New Super-man).

Surprised at how much I liked this book.

ONE OF US.

ONE OF US.
It's better than what came before. By a lot. Action and art are both great. Dialogue and chemistry still leave something to be desired. I'm honestly more intrigued by Artemis than anyone else in the book. I'll finish this trade after work, but it's decent so far.

Some of the comments I found most interesting about the Duggan AMA regarding the new Guardians book:

There was some other interesting stuff, but I didn't want to fill the page with all of it lol.

Yeah, a lot of what he's said has convinced me to give the new book a chance after dropping pretty much everything Guardians when Bendis took over. Hopefully this'll give my Rich fix with the new Nova book canned. =(

Duggan is probably my favorite writer so I'm expecting something way better than what Bendis put out.

Haha I've just settled for putting the microseries at the side for now and I'll just catch up whenever I get to them as bonuses, stuff actually reading it that way.

Did anyone play the Prey demo btw? Jesus, the music makes me so tense haha. Basically love everything about it though, really presses those shock buttons in my brain. Quit at getting the neuromod/reaching the lobby, no need to continue when I'm this sold.

Anyone got any ideas for a thread title next month?

COMICS! |OT| May 2017 - Every Empire Falls
COMICS! |OT| May 2017 - Geared Up For Injustice
COMICS! |OT| May 2017 - Damn Your Love, Damn Your Lies

There has to be an obvious Guardians Vol. 2 one I'm missing.

Batman v Flash: Dawn of Youngblood since it starts next week?

All-New Guardians of Image?

Free Comic Book Day At Last?

May The Comics Be With You, Always

Aliens: They Can Be Cute Too?

Injustice 2 A Comic Book Too

There's a Hamilton quote if you want to play up Marvel's Legacy relaunch:
Legacy. What is a legacy? It’s planting seeds in a garden you never get to see

I'm finally getting around to reading the non Midnighter issues of Grayson, and boy was that Robin War stuff god awful.

Mmm, I wasn't really that hot on the series in general, definitely not as much as most folks were. Haven't read the Robin War though. I think it's Seeley for me, I struggled with Revival and the first vol of the new Nightwing. I like the premise of his stuff but the actual writing style leaves me cold.

I've got nothing against Seeley at all, I just did not have any fucks to give about Duke or any of the wannabe Robin kids.

I thought the sound design was way too much but apparently they are fixing it so it's not so obnoxious during encounters. Was pretty cool though I've got a pretty big backlog but I think I'll get it sometime later this year.

Just finished all of Star-Lord and it was a really great book. Chip wrote him really well, it was funny and really touching. Old Man Logan is such a bro, his inclusion was a treat. Really glad I bought all the issues.

Shocker stays best Spidey villain.

Caved on TMNT. Grabbed #51-#68. There's a new issue this week too, isn't there?

Yup.

Zdarsky is an interesting writer because he really gets characters in addition to his ability to insert comedy into books.

Thank god, the music was annoying as hell.
Otherwise pretty cool, you just die to fast and it feels like the character is glued to the ground.

Yea, I posted over in the demo thread and mentioned the music as my one con, it goes on too long in a good number of circumstances and is really loud in the mix but I do actually like the music itself, it really got under my skin. I played on Xbox so I dodged the input lag/response issues. Really enjoyed it though, should be a good followup to playing through Dishonored 2.

Reading through the last Mouse Guard book, The Black Axe and it's so good. The series just gets stronger and stronger volume to volume. This one is very epic and it's interesting to see a myth in the making and exploration of the sacrifices that are called upon to cement the power of an idea over individual happiness or wants.

I always find Zdarsky to be funnier on twitter than he is in his comic books. I suspect he writes some of Sex Criminals though...I have no proof but I just assume I guess.

I just read the newest two issues of Spider Woman (Marvel Unilmited timezone, that is), and I gotta say, Rodriguez deserves credit for the costume redesign, but yeesh. That's about it. Seeing two issues drawn by talented guest artists drives home how much better the book is with someone else. Hopeless is a good writer, it's a good character, and a fun "slice of life book". But man that art has held it back.

EDIT: Oh, apparently Kris Anka actually redesigned the costume. There you go.

I'm looking forward to see what Hopeless does on Jean Grey this week.

I disagree 1000% with this.

I should also say I've never giving a damn about Jean Grey, so this is an unexpected turn of events.

----

I spent the last 2.5 hours reading all of Morning Glories.

JESUS.

It's enough to give Nick Spencer a lot of leeway to see what he has planned.

I've liked everything I've read from him, so that plus new found interest in Jean is a pull for me.

End of season 1.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Deadly class is so good. Volume 5's back half will make you weep.

Rewatching Legion's first ep before I actually watch the full season. I love this episode, it pretty much works better as a complete movie than most super hero movies.
